Had a great meal

Booked a table for a Thursday night. As we don't live in the area, we hadn't visited before. The restaurant was a little quiet which we didn't mind. Service was impeccable and the food glorious. Have lovely to eat somewhere where quality comes before quantity. I had the goat's cheese and... read more

We've been visiting this restaurant for many years, and have NEVER been dissappointed, unlike some of the top London Venues. Nick and Diane Barret have a wonderful balance of food/service/affordable good wines and atmosphere. They catered for our 50th anniversary and all young and old really enjoyed the food, and have talked about it ever since. The menu is always interesting,... More

Booked table as a surprise for my husband for us as a couple along with daughter & son in law. I had never dined here before but had heard from various sources that it was a must for fantastic food. Sorry, not so. Service good but food quality, tastiness & portions average. Ridiculously over priced for the quality. I was... More

My wife and I had a lovely meal and wine. Lovely setting fresh flower and candle on the table. Both our starters were sublime my main was nice but nothing special however the cheese & biscuits were the best I have ever had. Husband & wife establishment both very friendly.

Amazing food! Its not cheap, but its worth every penny. And whilst it's a special treat, it's neither pretentious nor poncy and a lovely night out!

20 years ago I was invited to this restaurant, bistro like, lovely food, but I did not chose it for special occasions for quite a while perhaps because it was more bistro than a sofisticated venue. I can't remember. But what I know now is that Scutchers is my first choice around Sudbury area and afar. Lovely dressed tables and... More

Scutchers' food rarely, if ever disappoints. Memorable lamb, beef fillet that just melts in the mouth, lovely light tempura and fantastic crispy duck were among the delights that we savoured on our last visit. The only two potential downsides are that it is priced at the higher end of the range and that it always feels a little bit flat... More

We went to Scutchers for a friends birthday Sunday lunch, he had booked the entire restaurant, there were probably 90 odd guests there, both friends & family; the service was excellent, lovely canapés arriving every 10 minutes before lunch, nice friendly efficient service. The meal was good too, nice pinkish roast beef, well cooked vegetables, tasty gravy, & a yummy... More

Today my husband and I celebrated our golden wedding anniversary and my husband's birthday at Scutchers. Our expectations were high as we have been to this superb restaurant many times before but the lunch for twelve today was simply wonderful and was praised as superb by all twelve of us. Food, service, atmosphere were absolutely the best. We cannot recommend... More
