I ate here on 9 Feb in the company of a friend. It was by chance and was a lucky find. We shared a starter (baked Camembert with truffled honey and garlic toasts) which was very good, tho it was fortuitous that I ordered extra bread as the toast was insufficient. I forget our main courses, not because the dishes... More

Went to the Swan for Valentines. I had looked online before booking and thought they had a great selection on the menu. When I phoned to book, I asked if there would be a set menu for valentines night. I was told no but there would be additional "sharing" dishes. We had a lovely evening and the food was good... More

I came here with two colleagues as we stayed in town for a two days business trip. Food was exceptionally good. We started with a nice amuse followed by scallops and beef with a piece of foi gras. Though it was more than enough, I also enjoyed a desert from local cheeses with a glass of port. Will go again... More

A recent visit proved to be a delight. We shared a first corse of charcuterie which was very good. My chicken with couscous was magnificent. The cous cous was excellent , the chicken perfectly cooked and moist and the crowning glory was the amazing Harissa, fruity, spicy and simply outstanding. The staff were very friendly, efficient and welcoming. A small... More

My friend and I went to the Swan for a girlie lunch today -,my first visit since the refurbishment and were not disappointed. The decor is understated and elegant and the food superb. We could choose from a light bites menu a set menu or a la carte. I love mushroom soup, which was on the main menu, but really... More

We booked for Sunday lunch time - had to alter the booking time fairly last minute and this was accommodated with no problem even though we were a party of 6. The restaurant was busy and quite crowded but the service was good charming and efficient. The food was delicious - we went for traditional roasts and everything on the... More

We visited today for lunch, after being charged an exorbiant price for a pint and a half of aspalls, we looked at the menu which bore no relation to the menu on line, which had a lunchtime menu and small plates, but this was not offered to us, a cold atmosphere suffice to say we left without dining, would def... A great evening in every respect from the super-efficient booking to the coffee at the end. Could not fault a thing - even the price was right!
