Enjoyed half lobster each here - had gone in attracted by the special of lobster pasta but unfortunately that was finished. Eating early so was fairly quiet and not much atmosphere but the service was excellent. Very nice lemon meringue tart - small with very light thin pastry - no soggy bottom!

An excellent recommendation from a friend. Quite close to home and well worth the 20 minute drive. Had a family meal one Sunday and everybody thoroughly enjoyed their food. Some very interesting dishes and excellent service. The staff were particularly polite. Didn't eat al fresco but heard that the gardens are really nice. Will definitely be coming back.

We stopped here for lunch and were very pleased as it looked lovely and they have an outdoor area - all very nice. Initially the service was really good and our order was taken fairly quickly. Waiting staff were polite. However, the food took at least 45-50 minutes to arrive and I felt this was a little long considering the... More

This restaurant has been a real find for me. Have eaten here several times with friends and always had a lovely meal. The Norfolk lobster this month was absolutely delicious and such good value. The decor is attractive, the service enthusiastic and the atmosphere lively. I also like the sister restaurant the Ram in Hadleigh .

We used to visit the Swan an awful lot, and had many good experiences there, but become a little bit disenchanted with it as we felt it had become a little bit overpriced and had a bit of a tendency to try a squeeze a few too many people in. We also used to really like the chap who managed... More

A pub that aims at the fine dining market needs to justify its prices with top class cooking. On this Saturday lunchtime they did a very good job with interesting and well presented dishes that justified the £100 bill(2 people with two glasses of wine). Services was very attentive. All three courses were good but we felt the desserts were... More

We had lunch here and the starters were a crab souffle and a terrine. This was followed by rainbow trout which was beautifully cooked with (disappointing) Jersey potatoes. They seem to have lost their taste! We had a glass each of elderflower cordial which was delicious. The service was good and the restaurant is delightful.

Just returned from a family meal out to celebrate my elderly grandparents anniversary. Unfortunately we couldn't complain at the time because we didn't want to upset my grandparents. However we have never experienced food that was so bad it became funny. Plates of chewy undercooked meat with raw fat and no accompanying vegetables or potatoes. Dry chicken that my grandma... More

Having been to the Swan before I was looking forward to our anniversary dinner. Sadly we were very disappointed the food was far too salty we drank a litre of water with the meal and still left very thirsty. We did mention the problem and whilst an apology was forthcoming we feel the chef should have come out and spoken... More
