Liked this place - slightly different choices for lunch and very good variety of excellent cakes - so good we went for lunch one day and came back the next for afternoon tea.All home made and very light sponges. Can especially vouch for the coffee cake, chocolate and Guinness and Victoria sponges.

We were drawn into the tea shop by the lovely cakes we could see through the window. We were met with a very warm welcome and had a look at the cakes before choosing where to sit. Another reviewer said this tea shop was cramped and had a cobweb complete with spider. It was a very old building and the... More

Delicious teas, very interesting varieties and also good coffee. The cakes are to die for..chocolate with Guinness and many other super cakes and scones. This is well worth visiting and there are a few rooms plus an outside area in the rear of the premises so it is larger than it appears at first glance.

Wonderful cakes and light lunches, above the ordinary and great value for money. Will stop again when we're in the area.

Went for lunch. Both myself and my wife had a brie, tomato and pesto tart served with salad. I think the tart was probably fine but it was difficult to tell. The salad was freshly washed and spread across the plate with a dressing in pretty patterns around the outside to give an upmarket look. Unfortuately the tart was then... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are sorry you did not enjoy your Goats cheese, tomato and red pesto tart and found it to be soggy. This tart was a gluten free option and the pastry is made with a flour which is potato starch based. The result is a slightly softer consistency to a... More

What a lovely find in Melford. The small busy rooms add to the atmosphere. If you are looking for something different for lunch or afternoon tea this will suit you. They have lots of different teas, including a choice of green teas. They do some nice savoury dishes with scones and dishes you won't find anywhere else. Maybe a bit... More

We sat in the back room by the window. This was covered in cobwebs with a very large spider below the windowsill which was rather off putting. I had a blueberry and almond tart which was mostly pastry and very dry. My husband had slice of Victoria Sponge which looked and tasted good.

Thank you for taking the time to write e review on us. We are really sorry you found your Blueberry and Almond tartlet to be dry, this is one of our best sellers, popular with many of our regular customers but it seems on this occasion we fell short of our usual high standard. We are pleased your husband enjoyed... More

Welcome was very poor. She wanted to seat us straight away but we wanted to look at cakes beforehand so she seemed irritated. No smiles or chat at all and she didnt pay attention to which of the two of us had ordered which drink, although they certainly werent busy, we were the only two there.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. To be honest, this one has really puzzled us, hence my late response. We encourage all of our customers to come in and view the cakes, this is after all what most people come to us for. Our customer service is of a high standard and we aim to welcome... More

We had lunch here on Good Friday and are so glad we did, friendly service, good selection of food and assorted teas. Very accommodating, having made contact in advance I was able to reserve a table which being a bank holiday was the right thing to do especially as there were 6 of us. Having just arrived in Long Melford... More

Went today. Great tea, great food- but the owner / waitress was extremely prickly and her table manner left little to be desired. A course in people skills maybe what is needed.
