Set in the beautiful old world of Long Melford, this was a great find. We had a deal of burger and a drink for £7.49- so unusual for pubs to do deals at the weekend. The food was served on wooden plates with the chips in a miniature tin bucket and cutlery came in a mini picnic hamper. All lovely... More

My son had ham egg chips and peas. The ham was like a chop half of which was fat , I had a Caesar salad, a bowl of cos lettuce ,croutons and a few shavings of Parmesan cost almost £6 that's day ~light robbery I did complain about the dressing which was poured on like soup .When I saw the... More

Second time eaten here, first on a Saturday evening and had to wait an hour for our food, put it down to being busy. However second time was a Sunday evening and the pub was not busy at all. Had to wait 40 minutes for our food. When the food came it was just warm. My partner had half roast... More

Just got back from a lovely evening at The cock and bell. Husband had piri piri chicken wings which were as they should be spicy hot, I had garlic mushrooms which were lovely. I then had a steak I did ask for Med/rare and it did come very rare which as it was an exceptional steak I didn't mind but... More

All over sixty, Hungry after a mornings bowling we descend on the cock and bell. The food is good pub grub at the right price, in five visits no one has been other than complimentary about the food. beer is good, but best of all is the service, friendly, obliging and showing care for the customer. As this lunch only... More

A nice pub inside, with a large menu - plenty to choose from for very fair prices. As we went for lunch, I had a baguette which was OK. The staff did their job although not necessarily with a smile! All in all, the pub is no frills and for the price is perhaps what you'd expect. I wouldn't necessarily... More

Nice pub, serving a decent pint. Food similar to Weatherspoon's style of menu, pub 'classics' etc. Good if you are hungry and want something cheap to eat and not expecting too much. Two meals for £10 says it all really, you know what you are going to get and won't be raving about it afterwards.
