When we visited, the bar was managed by some very disinterested young people. The service was very poor and the food was only marginally better. It is a shame, really, since with a better approach to the quality of service, this could be much better.

My family and I had the pleasure of having a few pints here one afternoon. Simply splendid. Great service in a charming and quaint pub. We'll worth a look.

Gut feeling said go elsewhere, the menu was expensive and not great and place empty, but unfortunately we didn't heed this! Firstly, although early on a Sat night, already....no risotto, no lasagne, no chunky chips, no fish, last 2 pieces of steak! Then the Victoria sponge with cream (last portion available..)...was an obvious cheap flat bought one! My bread and... More

I am more upset with the reviews written in TripAdvisor than the place itself. Obviously people who know nothing about food, what to appreciate write reviews. It was a BIG let down but it wasn't the fault of the place, we were deceived by the reviews written.

Simple pint in sports bar. Very friendly. The view of the crooked house is brilliant for taking photographs

We had two very lovely fresh sandwiches which came with salad and potato crisps plus a couple drinks for about £18. Service was slow at the time we were there but the staff were very friendly and keen we enjoyed out visit.

had a good meal here. The staff were pleasant and accommodating. The place has bags of character, but the food is pricy for what you get. While there was nothing wrong ther are better priced pubs around. May be the price you have to pay in nice place like Lavenham.
