Just another place that trades on the name of a celebrity chef who own but makes no contribution so why bother to go, and he suggests we all use Knorr stock, an instant mark down. Just don't wast your money walk across the road and get a seriously excellent meal cooked and served professionally. Look at what the locals do... More

Sunday lunch yesterday (06/04/14) Perfect in EVERY way. Warm crusty bread, the butter on a platter and spreadable, the service - to my standard. The ambience - just how I like it, cool decor too. I had venison which was cooked to perfection, my daughter roast chicken. The yorkshires huge and crispy, veg tasty. Very French which equals perfect. Did... More

If you want Sunday lunch here I would go soon. I won't be surprised to here it has closed or been taken over by someone else. The food is always delicious and this Sunday was no exception but the menu was very disappointing. One choice if starter beet root salad with a bit of celery and only ice cream selections... More

Taking my mum and dad for a birthday lunch, she was looking forward to her first dining experience under the MPW banner. It was mid-week and only one other table was occupied, so service was very quick and attentive. The staff are extremely friendly and professional. We opted for fish and chips and the liver. My fish was fine, however... More

Famous fish pie a dried out bowl of mash with no sauce, no flavour and precious little fish. Hint of salmon was the only evidence of fish. The manager Mr. Stephen was too busy on an "important" call to speak to an obviously unimportant customer ! Eat elsewhere as this place is a joke.

We stayed here recently for a friend's wedding. Lovely hotel, with great service and excellent food at a reasonable price. However, we unfortunately were kept awake into the early hours by a very noisy staff party down stairs! They were good enough to take the room off our bill in the morning when we complained, so fair enough. Would recommend... More

We recently had an evening meal at the Angel while having a short break in the area. the food and the service were excellent. Yes, it might not be a pub, but it is a very good restaurant.

After eating at the great house the day before which was fantastic and having eaten outs a fair bit in the preceding week whilst on holiday we both fancied some good honest hearty food somewhere that was a little more informal with a nice atmosphere. The angel fit the bill perfectly. We had been in for a nice drink the... More

We booked this restaurant to round off the good week we had on holiday locally. With MPW's name advertising this place we were expecting a food lovers delight. Upon arrival we were offered a drink and no where to sit. There were flies everywhere. I thought it was because were standing near the door. Upon being seated (not shown to... More

To be honest, we have been coming to Lavenham for thirteen years now, and have eaten at the Angel for every year. Loved it as a pub, even if we have eaten elsewhere, have drunk there every year, generally trying to enjoy the atmosphere outside, but in the rain have loved the inside atmosphere, husband usually loves the beer, However...
