Great atmosphere in a cute, crooked house.

We enjoyed delicious, salmon cream cheese sandwiches, and bacon and cheddar cheese quiches. We had scones with clotted cream and tea. I would have liked to have had a variety of tea cakes instead of choosing one from the traditional tea menu.

This lovely little tea shop is a must on a trip to the town of Lavenham. It is quirky on the inside and outside!! The tables all have different styles of cups, saucers, plates etc but everything just flows with the atmosphere created as there are so many different things to look at on the walls as well as items... The Crooked House is quite charming, and feels very welcoming inside. We were on a bit of a schedule, so we went to visit the coffee in there only about an hour after having had breakfast at the hotel. We only ordered some tea, coffee and one scone with clotted cream and jam, but god I am happy with ordered... More

A lovely sunny day in Lavenham and we thought we would try Munnings. We were not disappointed. The tables were beautifully laid, my sandwich came packed to the gunnels with filling. There were crisps, salad and a lovely homemade coleslaw. My relatives had scones, clotted cream etc, again with a choice of sandwiches and lovely cake. There was enough for... More

Called in for tea and scones as we had recommended to this tea room. The place is lovely very quaint and interesting with a warm atmosphere. The owner is a delightful person. The cheese scones were served warm with cheese and chutney and were delicious. Well worth a visit.

We were on a day out in Suffolk and passing through Lavenham (which is a must see if you haven't been there yet) and came across Munnings Tea room. What an amazing piece of English Heritage, the building was built in 1395 according to the owner. After our scrumptious cream tea, homemade huge warm scone, clotted cream and strawberry jam... More

Take a gorgeous period building in an historic and charming town, add marvellously warm service, a wonderful old dining room, great lunches and excellent value for money and you have Munnings. We wanted a light lunch and opted for sandwiches - cheese and onion chutney for me and tuna for my companion. The sandwiches, served on fresh granary bread, were... More

As a frequent visitor to Munnings Tea Room I cannot in the life of me understand the last comment on trip advisor. I know for a fact that the owner always goes out of her way to ensure customers receive the best quality food and service. The traditional afternoon tea is the best I have ever had and I have... I've been here many times for afternoon tea however it never fails to surprise me the amount of gorgeous clotted cream you receive with your warm scone. It is constantly busy so you may need to wait for a table, just have a walk around Lavenham and come back- you wont be disappointed. Various other tasty treats and cakes are... More

I've been here a few times as an occasional treat and I'm always tempted by the afternoon tea which at £12.50 per person is a very decent price considering how much you get. For that, I had a choice of tea or coffee (they will also substitute for hot chocolate, as they did for my friend who joined me doesn't... More
