After visiting the Lavenham Guildhall popped in for a light lunch. It's small, only 4 tables, but the food was local and very nice. If you ask for tea you will get a huge pot! We just had eggs on toast, but you can also just have tea or coffee and a slice of home-made cake. It's a bit quirky... More

The Crooked House is very quirky but traditional....somehow reminds one of Jane Austin. The variety of cakes and tarts were all so fresh looking and our choices were delicious. It is quite expensive but the quality is very good. Of the tea shops we visited in Lavenham, this would be the one we would recommend.

Words fail me when I think of this place. We asked for small strong coffees & out came a huge pot of weak tasteless coffee... so we asked for it to redone... out came another pot, half the amount this time but so unbelievably strong and bitter you could almost stand a spoon in it. When we then said we... More

I personally found it a very disappointing visit! Tea cosy a tad on the grubby side, menu also slightly grubby and only one per table, usually when visiting tea rooms (and I have visited quite a few) each person has their own menu to peruse. Food OK - nothing outstanding, good cup of tea and husband (who is very fussy)... More

It was the Sunday after Christmas and my husband said he would take me out for a drive and a cuppa! We set off towards the lovely village of Kersey to stop at The Copper Kettle and despite all the signs out saying that they were open when we pulled up in the car park there was a sign saying... We enjoyed are visit to The Crooked House. Its tiny so you will do well to get a seat but if you do you will enjoy the experience. The place is very quirky as is the owner. It won't be quick or slick but its an interesting place and the food was actually very nice as was the cake! Not... More

Stopped here for afternoon tea. Had a cheese scone (warmed up in a microwave) which made it very soggy, a piece of bakewell (not very nice) and a pot of tea. Quite surprised to see that the bill had come to over twelve pounds. We certainly will not be going back.

We visited the Munnings Tea Room with friends from Holland, and introduced them to the "best cream tea" I have ever tasted, with over fifty years of cream tea sampling, I should know; we were surprised at the selection of home made, gluten free cakes on offer too, the polenta and almond cake served with cream and fresh strawberries was... We booked our table for 4 as our visit was on a Saturday lunchtime which is well advised as we saw a fair number of people turned away. We each order one of their fresh sandwiches, which at between £6.50 and £8.50 for The Club sandwich, does on the face of it sound expensive, but once they arrived, we could... More
