Food absolutely fresh and made to order - just how I like it.

A lovely sunny day in Lavenham and we thought we would try Munnings. We were not disappointed. The tables were beautifully laid, my sandwich came packed to the gunnels with filling. There were crisps, salad and a lovely homemade coleslaw. My relatives had scones, clotted cream etc, again with a... read more

Called in for tea and scones as we had recommended to this tea room. The place is lovely very quaint and interesting with a warm atmosphere. The owner is a delightful person. The cheese scones were served warm with cheese and chutney and were delicious. Well worth a visit.

We were on a day out in Suffolk and passing through Lavenham (which is a must see if you haven't been there yet) and came across Munnings Tea room. What an amazing piece of English Heritage, the building was built in 1395 according to the owner. After our scrumptious cream tea, homemade huge warm scone, clotted cream and strawberry jam... More

Take a gorgeous period building in an historic and charming town, add marvellously warm service, a wonderful old dining room, great lunches and excellent value for money and you have Munnings. We wanted a light lunch and opted for sandwiches - cheese and onion chutney for me and tuna for my companion. The sandwiches, served on fresh granary bread, were... More

As a frequent visitor to Munnings Tea Room I cannot in the life of me understand the last comment on trip advisor. I know for a fact that the owner always goes out of her way to ensure customers receive the best quality food and service. The traditional afternoon tea is the best I have ever had and I have... I've been here many times for afternoon tea however it never fails to surprise me the amount of gorgeous clotted cream you receive with your warm scone. It is constantly busy so you may need to wait for a table, just have a walk around Lavenham and come back- you wont be disappointed. Various other tasty treats and cakes are... More

I've been here a few times as an occasional treat and I'm always tempted by the afternoon tea which at £12.50 per person is a very decent price considering how much you get. For that, I had a choice of tea or coffee (they will also substitute for hot chocolate, as they did for my friend who joined me doesn't... More

Tiny inside but lovely menu. We so wanted a cream tea but with the prospect of our dinner to come at The Swan Hotel opposite, where we were staying, we dared not! I also noticed Leek & Cheese Scones on the menu - wanted to try those too! All cakes are home-made and looked luscious - try it for yourself!

Really lovely little Tea Room filled with interesting things to look at whilst waiting for the best scones in the world - definitely recommend the Afternoon Tea. Really friendly staff.

If you want a fantastic cream tea with excessively generous portions of clotted cream, with home made scones ("we're one short, so I'll just pop one in the oven now if you don't mind waiting 10 mins") and a fresh strawberry to garnish the jam all served up with a good strong brew of tea, then come here. Last time... More
