Called in for coffee and cake whilst in Lavenham this week. Chose to sit outside (nice comfy cane chairs with cushions) and a lovely warm welcome. Ordered coffee for two and a huge pot with plunger arrived. We were even asked whether we'd prefer milk or cream, ah, bliss. Also ordered one slice of Yorkshire curd tart. This too was... More

We had lunch here one day while staying in Lavenham. It is a charming little place, full of character in one of Lavenham's little wonky buildings. The food was actually very good. Traditional items, sandwiches, homemade cakes, afternoon teas, etc. But quirky is the word - the place is packed to the gunnels with obscure decor and items for sale,... More

Visually this place is full of character, unfortunately for us that was the most positive part of the experience. The Assam tea I ordered was tea bags which for an establishment like this is unforgivable, the cake my friend ordered seemed very dry. There was only one person serving and each time we were served last to other people coming... More

We visited late afternoon on a week day. Beautiful ambience, tea cloths and tea service laid on the tables, the cakes and specials are chalked up but we opted for the Afternoon Tea from the menu. The lady taking the order warned us that this was quite large and tbat we might like to share. She wasn't joking , our... More

A must, if you want a old fashioned English Cream Tea. Lovely fruit scones, with a mountain of clotted cream. I have to say having had a cream tea in Cornwall and Devon (which are meant to be the best) this beats it hands down. Just one thing, this is a very small tea room, so can be difficult to... More

Sometimes a few words are enough: the atmosphere is gracefully old fashioned; the cream tea outstanding; the service kind. We loved it.

A charming place to have lunch. Munnings has a feel of elegance about it but in an attainable to us all sense. The food and drinks we ordered were lovely and the atmosphere was serene and welcoming. The setting just made us feel very relaxed and the service was polite and friendly. A nice hour to wind away the afternoon.

Delicious sandwiches, wonderful warm scone served with clotted cream, strawberries and jam, we were so full we couldn't eat the lovely cake, so were given it wrapped up to take home with us. The service was warm and friendly, the tea room was charming. We went for a special celebration and we weren't disappointed - a most delightful afternoon.
