This was a quintessentially british experience of afternoon tea. The whole place is reminiscent of sitting with your grandma, trinkets and suffolk paintings on the wall with gingham table clothes and tea-coseys. I had an egg sandwich on granary bread with kettle chips and coleslaw, while my friend had a prawn sandwich with the same accompaniments. Both were delicious, the... More

Had a lovely cream tea and sandwich whilst on a visit to Lavenham. This is a superb 'tea room'. Hot scone with generous portions of butter, jam and cream. The sandwich came with delicious home made apple coleslaw. Tea came in a large pot that had sufficient tea bags for a decent/strong brew. Everything was nicely presented, friendly service and... Went in for an early snack and ordered a sandwich. What I got was more like a full meal. The "ham sandwich" came with a full salad and crisps. The pot of tea was also generous. Excellent value for money. The premises are small and some later arrivals were turned away. They missed a treat.

My husband and I were lucky enough to take an early lunch in Munnings Tea Room yesterday and we'd both like to say how scrumptious the food was. The portion sizes were generous and the produce was wonderfully fresh. The carrot and apple soup is well recommended as are the delicious home made cakes and scones.. The staff were all... More

Took a hungry party of five to visit this cosy little English tea room after reading good reviews online and I am very glad to say we were not disappointed. We ordered the cream tea selection which came with a nice selection of prawn, salmon and avocado sandwiches with salad as well as a large pot of piping hot tea.... More

My husband and I together with our twin teenage daughters visited this wonderful little coffee shop back in April 2014. Having read some of the very negative feedback already posted, I felt the need to post my positive experience . As a customer, I expect a friendly but professional service with tasty and good value for money food. This is... More

Wonderful lunch in a topically English tearoom. Good gluten free meals available, which my wife requires. Make sure you take cash or you may have to pop down to the Post Office/chemist for cash like I did.

We were on holiday from the U.S. and visited Lavenham, with my daughter and son-in-law who live in Ipswich, on a day of a bad storm. All the power was out in the village so everything was closed except Munnings. They had gas to heat water for tea and oil lamps for light. It really was quaint. Scones and other... More

On a very hot June day we stopped here for a cool drink, the waitress came over to the next table saying that as it was lunch time customers were expected to order food and as they only wanted drinks she would make an exception in their case but they agreed to order some cakes. We looked at the menu... More
