We had booked this restaurant as wee were visiting Bury St Edmunds and had noted the Tripadviser comments. We were very disappointed. The service was very slow and some of the staff very surly. Portions are very small and expensive. The Dover sole, that resembled a sausage, was tasteless. Fortunately the cheeseboard was very good as was the accompanying bread... More

My wife and I visited this restaurant for a midweek lunch, choosing two courses from the set menu for £18-50. The other reviews here and the fact that the restaurant was fairly full suggest that they are doing something right, but we were most disappointed. The menu had two meat dishes (my wife chose the pork fillet) and two fish... More

Welcoming and with a pride in the food they serve, the staff here know exactly how to make each customer's experience a positive one. The food was a mixture of classic and innovative cuisine and none those who choose dishes 'out of their comfort zone' were disappointed.

From the moment we got there we were treated like royalty. It was our Silver Wedding Anniversary so a very special occasion. Couldn't fault the entire experience. Excellent food and excellent service. Will definitely return there.

The food - well just simply AMAZING. Chicken liver pate to die for and mackerel starter - wonderful. Veal that melted in your mouth and pollock beautifully cooked. Had choc pudding to share... More

Anniversary meal. This is our third visit and once again, we found the ambience serene and relaxed. The service is attentive without being excessive. The food was perfectly prepared and presented. We had langoustine and asparagus/ scallop starters. Both were beautifully balanced. My angus fillet was cooked perfectly rare to medium My wife had the turbot which she assures me... More

Tastefully decorated in muted calming colours.Professional efficient service by well trained French staff.A long and varied wine selection to suit all tastes and pockets. An interesting but focused menu.We both enjoyed our main course of venison haunch, the scallop starter was also delicious.Dessert was a bit debatable as the chef seems to be a devotee of the "deconstructive" school!Cost which...
