We had cups of tea and cake here which were very nice, It was a very sunny afternoon and we sat outside overlooking the Abbey Gardens which was really relaxing. There was a good selection of cakes and we were not rushed at all. A very nice spot to sit outside for a drink.

I think I would have to rate the scones here as the best ever. Really wonderful. The place is small and quirky, and the staff are nice but slightly overly chatty with each other. The only real downside was the loo was dusty and a little unloved, as were the stairs to the toilets. I think they put all their... More

We went here for breakfast and chose the porridge and american pancakes. The drinks we had were filter coffee and hot chocolate. The porridge pottions were large and tasty, we asked for extra honey and this was no problem. The American pancakes were freshly made and came with maple syrup. Thsi is a lovely place for breakfast and you can... More

I popped in here for a bite to eat and a snack with my wife at lunchtime, we were both drawn in by the promise of a scone. Cheese with onion chutney for my wife and fruit with jam and cream for me. Both arrived fresh and warm and were delicious, washed down with a refreshing large cappuccino. It is... More

My husband and I have gone to the Really Rather Good Café at least 5+ times now! They have always had exceptional customer service and remember us when we come in! They love visiting with us and seeing our 3 month old son! When my mother-in-law was in town she went to the café almost everyday and always received a... More

Deliciously runny poached eggs with a piquant hollandaise was a perfect start to the morning! All topped off by being able to enjoyed it sitting outside watching the world of Bury St Edmunds go by. Delightful!

This very small restaurant is a favorite!! Some quaint inside seating and a few tables outside- across from the Abbey Gardens- if you are lucky enough to get one!

My two favourite pastimes, drinking good coffee and watching people; you can do both from here. The world and his dog goes past, enjoy them fighting with the traffic on the crossing as you sip a VERY good coffee that has been VERY well made. Civilised too, you can read their copy of the Telegraph and they don't complain when... More

Independent coffee shop in a great location at the bottom of Abbeygate Street. For the size of the establishment they offer a good range of hot and cold drinks and food. Have sampled both coffee and tea - very good. Friendly staff always ready to oblige
