This is a great place for drinks and cakes, the hot chocolate is especially nice and is my son's favourite. The cakes are home made and tasty, we have tried the victoria sponge and mars rice crispy cake. We haven't tried the lunch menu but it looks nice.

Lovely coffee and lovely service - you just can't beat a privately owned place for that extra touch. Great range of teas as well. Only gripe is that it's fairly small and, as a result, they don't comfy sofas - mainly tables and chairs. But.... only a minor thing.

Called in here for a coffee and then decided to have a light lunch a mistake ( in the nicest possible way). I ordered the cheese bacon and chicken in granary bread it was delicious a well filled sandwich the chicken was succulent the cheese the right strength so as not to over power the bacon and chicken, nice thick... First time I have come for a coffee here. Got to say thought it was fantastic. Coffee was great & so was the service. Had the chance to read my book, with not that much background noise. I did not buy food this time round, but would like to try something off the menu next time. If the food is... More

There are things I love about this place. Their flat whites are the best I have had outside the best places in London due to their milk, they have Asahi beer available, their tea is the best in Bury and the view from table 14 overlooking the abbey gate is sublime when sat outside and always worth going back for.... Well I went here because of the good ratings about their coffee but I came away with the feeling of I won't be going again. I asked for a double macchiato but when it arrived it was something completely different, it was more reminiscent of a latte. I took it back to the counter and told them so, so they... More

Sorry you didn't enjoy your Macchiato. The second was made by a different barista with less milk which seemed to be your preference but still lacked your delight. We haven't changed how we make them for four years (from the previous owners, and indeed the staff are basically the same). I would say however (and expect now to be told... More

We had a lovely winter afternoon tea here, gorgeous ginger hot chocolate and winter hazelnut latte, with a warm scone each, very tasty. Quite small, but relatively quick turn around on tables, also does takeaway. Just over the road from Abbey Gardens, so great location.

Location is great, service is good, but cafe itself is very small. While it does offer outdoor seating, it's not shielded from the weather. Selection is decent, and it serves breakfast almost all day!
