AVERAGE FARE AT MEDIUM PRICE

On first visit was told item i ordered[lasagne] was not available. the substitute meal was ok but the mushy peas were too dry. Next day the Sunday roast was very basic and not enough on plate. The beans that manager said came with meal did not eventuate. A man on another table was heard to remark... read more

We had never been to this Pub before, often passed it but yesterday we decided to pop in. We will definitely be going again, the staff were really friendly and helpful. particularly like the way the pub is set out, also it was very clean that is something I look at when I first walk in any establishment. We loved... More

Had lunch here yesterday on the warmest day of the year so far and sat outside with the dog. Glorious day but pity about the pub. Was told they had no scampi, what, a pub without scampi, ridiculous. So ordered their award winning cod and chips. It tasted ok but I could have done better in any fish and chip... More

Upon being seated at our table, the table was dirty, cobwebs and dirty cleaning standards evident. Manager returned to kitchen with our two roast beef dinners before informing the waitress to wipe down our table and to bring the cutlery. We declined the offer to wipe down our table as the manager came back with the food at the same... More

Worst fish and chips I have ever had. Thick solid batter, tasteless fish. Cold, boiler had broken down so sat huddled round a tiny heater. Slow service. The whole place seemed grubby and run-down. Even the orange juice and lemonade had to be replaced because something was off. Very disappointing.

Popped in for a meal with husband and son. Have been a regular for a long time so know not to expect too high a standard. However, a new menu and asked for salmon nicoise. Was told that couldn't order this as they haven't been able to cook any boiled eggs today? That they take too long? Not sure if... More

Have visited this Pub on several occasions and normally the experience has been OK for a place of this kind - but the last visit was not to good, the food was very substandard and of the draught beer was there none. The only saving grace was the staff who remained courteous and as helpful as they could be.

Do Greene king not read theses reviews?? This place is steadily sinking under. It improved vastly following a refit sometime ago, I It would appear the new management have let the place go. I found the same as a previous review, empty glasses and plates, bar staff in very short skirt appeared to be too busy chatting to other staff... More

Visited on a Tuesday evening around 18:30. Parked in the car park so walked through the garden entrance, half of the tables in the garden were covered in empty glasses, one table had an empty plate on too. Got inside and ordered food with a friend of mine. The food was nice though the rare steak was more medium to... More
