popped in at peak time for dinner, on the hottest day of the year so far. The garden was near enough full with customers, there was a short que to order food and the barman was apologetic and really cheery. the food came out very quickly, piping hot with a very friendly waiter who was extremely helpful, me and my... Sorry but not very impressed, childs food was not awful. Burnt chicken nuggets???! Potatoes that tasted like they had been in the store room for weeks, as for peas I don't know what happened to those but they were inedible, i can imagine they'd been sat in the bain marie for the best part of the day. When out for... More

I have known this pub for many years and seen several changes. In the past there has been nice managers and a very pleasant atmosphere. It is now no better than a Hungry Horse. Children running wild on scoters. I have seen a fight "behind" the bar. I find it hard to believe how what was a pleasant venue could... More

We will definitely be going again, the staff were really friendly and helpful. particularly like the way the pub is set out, also it was very clean that is something I look at when I first walk in any establishment. Had lunch here yesterday on the warmest day of the year so far and sat outside with the dog. Glorious day but pity about the pub. Was told they had no scampi, what, a pub without scampi, ridiculous. So ordered their award winning cod and chips. It tasted ok but I could have done better in any fish and chip... More

On first visit was told item i ordered[lasagne] was not available. the substitute meal was ok but the mushy peas were too dry. Next day the Sunday roast was very basic and not enough on plate. The beans that manager said came with meal did not eventuate. A man on another table was heard to remark that he had to... More

Upon being seated at our table, the table was dirty, cobwebs and dirty cleaning standards evident. Manager returned to kitchen with our two roast beef dinners before informing the waitress to wipe down our table and to bring the cutlery. We declined the offer to wipe down our table as the manager came back with the food at the same... More
