Peas Porridge's food is almost certainly the best i have ever had in the UK. It has a varied menu with ample choice and a wine selection to die for. The waitresses were very helpful and informative when selecting order. I find it increasingly harder to find a restaurant that cooks food better than i could do at home. But... More

Lovely meal, Swis wine surprisingly good. Great service, friendly staff. A warm, cosy environment with a very interesting menu.

We live forty miles away from Bury St Edmunds so had not been to Pea Porridge for a long time. It is as good as we remember! An interesting menu (my wife had rabbit terrine), and the food is beautifully cooked and presented. Highly recommend the banana beignets for dessert! If only we lived nearer.... Not cheap, lunch worked out... More

One of the best eating places in Bury St. Edmunds. Unusual menu that changes frequently. It maybe small but so special for an interesting meal.

We revisited this charming restaurant after its renovations this summer and can report that it is still a wonderful place to eat. Brilliant service and gorgeous food make it a must for every visit to Bury St Edmunds.

This is a one-off restaurant where the food is not what you generally expect or receive, very imaginative menus meats and fish all cooked and presented to perfection with full flavour, same applies to the vegetables and the selection of sweets, it has a homely Bistro feel, with very attentive and knowledgeable staff and cost for 3 course with good... We visited on Saturday night and it was extremely busy, we had been planning to go for several months so were looking forward to the meal. We were early, so spent some time looking at the menu outside deciding what we wanted, only to find that they had run out of my first and second choice of both starters and... More

Went here last night, a treat from my daughter. What a find. Hard to find, wasn't sure at first when it felt like I was going into someone's house! Menu was small with unusual meats and fish, opted for the steak and chips, my husband and daughter went for veal and venison. Oh my gosh ! This food is amazing.... More

This is our second visit to Pea Porridge, our first being three years ago. My only question is why have we waited so long to return. The menu is not the run of the mill which for Bury St Edmunds is a good thing as most of the restaurants in Bury are part of chains. The staff are friendly and... More
