Great evening

I took, my business manager and Publicity Agent to Pea Porridge for dinner, she is here to organise a book deal, flying in from New York to also attend my late mothers party of life. We started with the Bastide a tasty red wine, light and fruity, just right, I had the Mackerel starter, Michelle... read more

it rare that I think it's justified to use the word excellent, but this is one of those cases. It was my daughters birthday and we had a family lunch to celebrate, our first visit here, there will be more. It's got all the right things to make it a memorable and enjoyable dining experience. As soon as you arrive... More

We have a variety of different dishes from random menu. Had a great meal, but to be honest would not rush back.

My friend and I visited Pea Porridge on a Wednesday night and it was one of the best dining experiences I've had. The food was absolutely superb (the bread is to die for) and the service was impeccable - the staff are wonderfully helpful and really chatty which makes the experience even better. Very cosy atmosphere too! I can't wait... More

Dined here for the first time last night with my accountant (who had eaten here before) and our wives Very eclectic and imaginative menu - not just the usual suspects. Extensive wine list which could be pricey but many good value choices. Very nice relaxed atmosphere, helped by friendly and chatty young staff. Everything cooked perfectly - two of us... More

We visited on 13th of June and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The restaurant is comfortably furnished and the whole atmosphere is relaxed and unfussy, which would be my preference. The menu was interesting and varied, without being too long. Portions were substantial and delicious and there was a strong emphasis on the use of interesting herbs/flavours and quality ingredients. Service... More

We were visiting the town and went on the recommendation and status in TripAdvisor. Not only were we not disappointed, but we were exceptionally impressed by the atmosphere, the staff and the food. It's intimate and the staff were exceptional, fun, caring and engaging. The food was amazing and as good as it gets (highly recommend the lamb) and overall... More

This is our favourite restaurant in Bury St Edmunds and lunchtime yesterday was again excellent. The lobster was perfect and my hake fillet cooked to perfection, I almost feel embarrassed that I leave nothing on my plate, but the food cooked by Justin is too good to leave. We love the customer service and attention to detail. Great selection of... More

We had a meal at Pea porridge for the first time recently. It has charm and character and is great if you want something different. We had a complementary pea and ham croquettes which was very nice. The main meals were a culinary experience. I had the crab, saffron and samphire risotto to start which was superb, full of flavour-... More
