We knowthat not everyone wants the same thing from a pub. You might want a pint of local real ale at the bar ... A bottle of wine and a grazing board on the sofas ... A meal in the dining room ... A really good coffee and a read of the paper ... Take your pick. If real ale is your thing, look no further. We offer our own Brewshed Best Bitter and Pale Ale plus a couple of guest ales. We're passionate about wine and have created an award winning list Which offers a selection of old favorites combined with some more unusual and quirky wines. The common theme is did we believe They Are all well made wines offering good value for money. Every single one of our wines are available by the glass (except some champagnes). On the food side, the emphasis is on good quality, seasonal produce and, wherever Possible, we source it locally. We love Sunday lunch and offer a great roast - bring the family or meet up with friends and catch up on your way. We're open from noon until late. So if you're in need of a locally roasted coffee in the afternoon, you know where to come. Free wi-fi is available Throughout the pub. What about the kids? Children are welcome in the bar before 6pm and 8pm in the restaurant but evenings are just for the grown ups. Our kids menu is Important to us. It is Aimed at children under 8 and each dish is freshly prepared. You can therefore order a roast pork or beef kids on Sundays. Where Possible, we are very happy to prepare smaller Portions from our main menu. Baby changing facilities, high chairs, activity sheets and crayons are available.

Lovely gastro pub.

This pub has a lovely distinguished atmosphere. Some well lit sofa areas, and a lovely cozy area beside the fire. Food and service are excellent here, although occasionally the restaurant tends to go for quality rather than quantity. I've had a small fish n chips there - but it was very tasty. I... read more

A very busy Saturday evening. Staff very apologetic about slight delay being able to order and time delay getting food . Complementary nibbles/ home made bread wonderful. Also a complementary bottle of wine. Lovely vegetarian curry and fish mains and great puds. Already booked another meal.

I do not know this town very well which meant we were late for our table booking, but not to worry, the staff took it in their stride and although they were busy we were not made to feel 'difficult'. Our friends were waiting, drinks in hand by a lovely open log fire where two comfortable sofas were very inviting.... More

Parking outside if you are lucky so convenient but pay by the hour so may need to move as this place is where you need to take time to enjoy. Lovely ambience, friendly staff and very nice menu. Comfy sofas by the fire mean pre and after lunch can wile away a relaxing time if wanted. Overall a lovely experience.... More

Often 'pop' in here with my wife for a lunch (Must try it in the evening sometime). The menu choice is excellent and always well prepared\cooked. Fast service with a smile and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The 'Beer' her is good too, brewed by themselves locally. Certainly always on the list for somewhere to stop off.

Visited at lunchtime and ordered ham and eggs not wanting anything too fancy. Plain cooking maybe, but so well done. A masive helping of local Suffolk ham off the bone, two fried eggs and a generous helping of chunky chips. Washed down with a pint of their own brew bitter, which although not outstanding to my taste, complimented the food... More

Firstly don't be put off by the outside as the pub doesn't have much kerb appeal but once inside it's light, modern and comfortable. Food - not a huge selection on the menu but sometimes that makes decisions easier! Although there was four of us eating, three of us went for the ham, egg and chips which was good and... More

We met some friends in Bury St Edmunds and had Sunday lunch at The One Bull. Everything was excellent - the service, drinks, atmosphere and definitely the food. The roast pork (belly pork plus loin) was superb and the roast beef very tasty and perfectly cooked for those who had it. They should definitely get an award for the best... More

My husband and I booked a reservation for us along with another couple on a Wednesday evening, and we were glad we did! The seats/tables are comfortable, affording enough space to chat and not have to yell. The menu isn't overwhelming, and has an interesting range of unique choices (from a reindeer burger to calf's liver). My husband and I... More
