Description: Sam and the team at The Lighthouse restaurant welcome every customer into a relaxed atmosphere which instantly makes you feel at home. With three different eating locations, downstairs, upstairs and the courtyard, The Lighthouse offers a 'Sleepy Suffolk' approach to eating out, with you dictating the pace of your evening. The Lighthouse chefs work tirelessly to continue to produce mouth-watering dishes for the A la carte menus and, the lunch & pre-cinema menu. With the creations of the dishes, Head Chef Guy Welsh ensures that the ingredients for all his dishes are as local as possible, with much of the fish coming right off the beach in Aldeburgh, our duck coming from Norfolk based Gressinghams, Five Winds butchers in Melton for our juicy steaks and local salad leaves from Sue Allen in Thorpeness. To round off the perfect evening, The Lighthouse offers a wide selection of tempting wines and local Adnams beers to compliment all of our dishes.

We always eat at the Lighthouse when we visit Aldeburgh and although we only go maybe 5-6 times a year we are always greeted like old friends. The food and service are excellent - plenty to choose from and dishes are always well done. Do go - but book to be sure of a table.

The two things I like about this place is that the set menu is great value and the customer service is second the none. Every time I go in there, the manager is always so welcoming and takes the time to learn the names of his customers and who they are. Food is great too!

We were a party of 10. The meal was excellent. There was a bit of a wait between the starter and main course, but when the main course arrived all was forgiven as it was excellent. Sea bass cooked exquisitely as was the liver and lamb!! The staff were friendly and efficient. A very enjoyable evening.

The restaurant was fully booked for the Saturday we wanted, 2 weeks in advance! Beware! We went the next night and we're not disappointed! Service was very friendly and the food delicious. Many thanks, we'll be back!

This was a mid-week pre-cinema meal. So let's see. Chowder. When I make chowder it's thick. That's pretty much the point of chowder. I use ground cream crackers the New England way, but each to their own, aside from the fact that this chowder wasn't thick at all, it was the consistency of milk, which is mostly what it was.... We had the set menu. 2 courses for £10. There was a choice of 4 in each course. The food was well cooked and nice and hot. The staff were friendly and checked that everything was okay with our meal.
