This was a lunchtime meal before a production at Snape Maltings. I had been to this restaurant with my book club group a few years ago, and knew that I wanted to pay a return visit. Clearly a very popular restaurant, unpretentious, relaxing and first rate service from the very professional staff. It was a Sunday lunchtime and it was... More

we are in Aldeburgh for a short break and visited here on our first night. What a lucky find. I would highly recommend this restaurant for the lovely meze appetiser and the beautiful cooked shrimps. The staff are all friendly and welcoming and although very busy we still felt we were importantt to them. Which is a nice feeling in... More

Thank you other reviewers for this gem of a restaurant. This place could teach many a bigger restaurant on how things should be done. I found myself in the beautiful village of Aldeburgh on business, and after a very enjoyable stroll along the beach front and back along the high street, it seemed that the place is served well for... Had a lovely meal here recently. Quiet table in a buzzing restaurant. Lovely food and attentive service. Only wish we'd planned better when we were here earlier in the year and had managed to secure a table them too!

Another pilgrimage to our favourite restaurant (a round trip of only 300 miles). Anyone who has not tried the fish soup has not lived.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal here. It did get busy by evening so I reckon booking is advisable. Inviting atmosphere, friendly engaging staff (and owner!) and lots of fresh local food on the menu. We found the food we ordered delicious! Additionally, free is well catered for and the staff were willing to go to extra trouble to ensure everything was... More

Lovely dinner, good menu. Book a table if you can as it can get busy, not that many restaurants to choose from in this town (not counting the hotels whi I presume all do dinners)

My wife and I were going to have lunch in the brudenell which was closed and decided to try the lighthouse. What a stroke of luck, two courses for £10 served food any restaurant would be proud of. Staff excellent, good atmosphere in a lovely surrounding. Made our day thanks

On a short break staying in Aldeburgh we ate at the Lighthouse the first night as recommended. We were so impressed with the friendliness of the staff ,the welcoming atmosphere and the delicious food[not to mention the excellent Prosecco!] that we ate there every night. The portions were just the right size to be able to comfortably manage 2 courses... More

Always such a pleasure to eat at The Lighthouse. Fabulous service & a warm welcome from Sam & his team. Lovely buzzy atmosphere & delicious food. The only problem is knowing which of the dishes to choose. So will have to keep going back to sample them all :).
