Description: Sam and the team at The Lighthouse restaurant welcome every customer into...
Sam and the team at The Lighthouse restaurant welcome every customer into a relaxed atmosphere which instantly makes you feel at home. With three different eating locations, downstairs, upstairs and the courtyard, The Lighthouse offers a 'Sleepy Suffolk' approach to eating out, with you dictating the pace of your evening. The Lighthouse chefs work tirelessly to continue to produce mouth-watering dishes for the A la carte menus and, the lunch & pre-cinema menu. With the creations of the dishes, Head Chef Guy Welsh ensures that the ingredients for all his dishes are as local as possible, with much of the fish coming right off the beach in Aldeburgh, our duck coming from Norfolk based Gressinghams, Five Winds butchers in Melton for our juicy steaks and local salad leaves from Sue Allen in Thorpeness. To round off the perfect evening, The Lighthouse offers a wide selection of tempting wines and local Adnams beers to compliment all of our dishes.

Lovely lunch

Had lunch today at The Lighthouse. We started outside on a lovely back patio but then it started to rain. The staff very quickly and cheerfully moved us inside, even offering to replenish the cider I spilled on our dash inside. Our food was excellent and very reasonable priced. This restaurant is situated on the high street - parking can be a problem, especially at weekends. The restaurant is very popular so best to book and if you have mobility problems make sure you ask for a table on the ground floor. The menu is varied and interesting and the staff are very pleasant and welcoming. We found the... More

Been here a number of times and it never disappoints, excellent food and service at a good price. The restuarant is always busy and has a very friendly atmosphere. They have some set menu items which are very reasonably priced or the full menu which is great.

We gave been coming to Aldeburgh for many years and nearly always eat at The Lighthouse. Sam Hayes is now patron and he us simply the perfect host; if only every restaurant had service of this standard. Sam and attentive team really do set the scene in an exemplary and attractive way. Great warm bread, olive oil followed by Thai... More

We had a party of 10 celebrating our Father in law's 90th birthday. The food was very good. The service was excellent. I felt the staff wanted to make sure you were looked after. We were staying close to the restaurant and we were asked if we wanted a take away the following evening due to family mobility. We took... More
