Sam and the team at The Lighthouse restaurant welcome every customer into a relaxed atmosphere which instantly makes you feel at home. With three different eating locations, downstairs, upstairs and the courtyard, The Lighthouse offers a 'Sleepy Suffolk' approach to eating out, with you dictating the pace of your evening. The Lighthouse chefs work tirelessly to continue to produce mouth-watering dishes for the A la carte menus and, the lunch & pre-cinema menu. With the creations of the dishes, Head Chef Guy Welsh ensures that the ingredients for all his dishes are as local as possible, with much of the fish coming right off the beach in Aldeburgh, our duck coming from Norfolk based Gressinghams, Five Winds butchers in Melton for our juicy steaks and local salad leaves from Sue Allen in Thorpeness. To round off the perfect evening, The Lighthouse offers a wide selection of tempting wines and local Adnams beers to compliment all of our dishes.

We had a great dinner, with relaxed and friendly service. The puddings were amazing. A very popular place and was fully booked on the Thursday night. I really liked the owner, who took the trouble to chat and make us feel really welcome. A great Aldeburgh spot. I highly recommend.

Wonderful greeting by a fabulous host. The food was good but not great. I think the chef needs to up his / her game. Decor is awful with a dated 1970 theme ,yellow walls with a terracotta ceiling and dreadful life size wood carvings. Cheap mirrors and dated furniture. This needs a refurb.

Excellent food and very friendly and attentive service. Nothing to dislike, everything to like, including a very attractive wine list.

We have visited the Lighthouse on a few occasions when visiting Aldeburgh and have always found it to be excellent. They have a large and interesting menu with many additions on the specials board. The fish dishes are are always fabulous - we sometimes like to have the oysters to start as they are great value. Desserts are worth leaving... More

In Aldeburgh for a short break and booked this based on TA reviews and wasn't dissapointed. I suggest booking as it was really busy on a Tuesday night. We had a great friendly welcome, fab happy service and really good food. I really liked this place, has a good feel to it. Good selection of food, with a specials board.... More

What a great place! The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the menu is really interesting and the food excellent. Service was beautifully measured and the atmosphere is unstuffy. Our party all agreed each of our dishes were delicious and the puds were to die for. Definitely a return visit when next in Aldeburgh. Booking a must.

We were a large group - 11 adults and 3 children. They sat us upstairs in a semi-private area and allowed us to enjoy our lunch uninterrupted. The food is very good value - especially the set menu's. There was something for everyone. When a couple of our party couldn't make it due to their baby being asleep they offered... More

An excellent feature about this restaurant was the standard of service. The owner as well as the staff who served at table were very attentive, warm, friendly and professional. Importantly, even with a full Easter Saturday lunchtime, service was quick. We had scallops for starters, followed by fish pie, fish and chips and pork belly. Definitely come back when In... More

We had a mixed experience, it's a lovely restaurant in an equally lovely town...first the good stuff - great balsamic / oil, starters good, my partners fish was excellent....the fish on my fish n chips also great, but the chips......awful, not fully cooked and a strange taste from the oil.....complained but nothing was done (explained taste as due to rapeseed...
