Sam and the team at The Lighthouse restaurant welcome every customer into a relaxed atmosphere which instantly makes you feel at home. With three different eating locations, downstairs, upstairs and the courtyard, The Lighthouse offers a 'Sleepy Suffolk' approach to eating out, with you dictating the pace of your evening.

The Lighthouse chefs work tirelessly to continue to produce mouth-watering dishes for the A la carte menus and, the lunch & pre-cinema menu. With the creations of the dishes, Head Chef Guy Welsh ensures that the ingredients for all his dishes are as local as possible, with much of the fish coming right off the beach in Aldeburgh, our duck coming from Norfolk based Gressinghams, Five Winds butchers in Melton for our juicy steaks and local salad leaves from Sue Allen in Thorpeness. To round off the perfect evening, The Lighthouse offers a wide selection of tempting wines and local Adnams beers to compliment all of our dishes.

Quality food, great atmosphere and top class service

Stayed in Aldeburgh last weekend and booked to eat here with friends. So pleased that I decided to choose this restaurant. Waitress was friendly and really looked after us. Food was great and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. I'd highly recommend this place.

The Lighthouse is very conveniently located close to the cinema and the Jubilee theatre so even has the cinema programme in the menu! The £10 menu for two courses is exceptional value and as a fan of fish pie and a good cook of fish pie myself - this was the best I have ever eaten. The house wine was... More

Read the rave reviews for The Lighthouse before our family trip to Aldeburgh and it didn't disappoint. My Guinea fowl risotto was perfect and Affo Lowry (affogato with a tiramisu shot) to finish was delicious. Others were delighted with tender calves liver, flavoursome pork, perfectly cooked steaks, melting cod and a creamy rice pudding. We were given a perfect space... More

Very friendly proprietor and his wife. Made to feel very welcome from the word go. It makes such a difference! Food was great - this is not haute cuisine - just good ingredients properly cooked and presented without gimmick or fuss (hooray!). Portion size was sensible - left after starter and main not feeling hungry and not bloated either. Nice... More

We had a delightful dinner there on a Saturday night. It was packed! They had one table left and it was upstairs. The seafood was amazing and they had a good selection of wines and beers. The prices were reasonable and the restaurant was great for a relaxing dinner.

We booked for an evening meal on a Saturday and although they were very busy the staff were friendly and helpful - I have a problem with my hip which means I have to put my leg up and they went to great lengths to make me comfortable. On top of this the food itself was exquisite and the service... More
