Description: Sam and the team at The Lighthouse restaurant welcome every customer into...
Sam and the team at The Lighthouse restaurant welcome every customer into a relaxed atmosphere which instantly makes you feel at home. With three different eating locations, downstairs, upstairs and the courtyard, The Lighthouse offers a 'Sleepy Suffolk' approach to eating out, with you dictating the pace of your evening. The Lighthouse chefs work tirelessly to continue to produce mouth-watering dishes for the A la carte menus and, the lunch & pre-cinema menu. With the creations of the dishes, Head Chef Guy Welsh ensures that the ingredients for all his dishes are as local as possible, with much of the fish coming right off the beach in Aldeburgh, our duck coming from Norfolk based Gressinghams, Five Winds butchers in Melton for our juicy steaks and local salad leaves from Sue Allen in Thorpeness. To round off the perfect evening, The Lighthouse offers a wide selection of tempting wines and local Adnams beers to compliment all of our dishes.

I'm glad we had our lunch at this restaurant today (3 feb2015), during our short visit in town. From the starters to the puddings we enjoyed the meal. The staff were friendly and helpful. Truly recommend.

We stayed in Aldeburgh and tried this venue for dinner on the off chance that we could get a table; luckily enough we did. The food was superb; both in presentation and taste. It was also reasonably priced. We head up to Aldeburgh fairly regularly throughout the year and will definitely eat here again.

We visited the Lighthouse on Valentines Night, as expected it was very busy, we were seated upstairs where my wife had a view of the kitchen, my wife ordered from the Valentines menu, I ordered from the A La Carte, for the starters my wife had scallops with sweet potato, I had scallops with crispy smoked bacon and salad leaves,... My husband and I and a friend ate here last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. We have been meaning to visit for some time and we were not disappointed. We only wanted a light snack as we were going out to dinner in the evening so opted for oysters for our starters which were plump and fresh and delicious and... More

Visited at 6.30pm after a matinee film at Leison Cinema. Always a warm welcome by the excellent staff who are very efficient and friendly. The food is consistently great and the restaurant has a really nice atmosphere. Highly recommended tho probably safer to book first.

We always eat at the Lighthouse when we visit Aldeburgh and although we only go maybe 5-6 times a year we are always greeted like old friends. The food and service are excellent - plenty to choose from and dishes are always well done. Do go - but book to be sure of a table.
