The food was at best average. I had the game pie as I looked at the menu and it appeared to offer the best choice for flavour without chilli, but it was very bland, small pieces/minced meat with very little taste. The drinks were good value, but weren't as well kept as other places we visited in the week. Very friendly... More

Made very welcome as soon as we walked in by a tall, smiling young man, who pointed us to menu board, order at bar etc. What an asset he is to this pub. Fabulous few pints of adnams ghost ship. Excellent basic food swiftly served in a pleasant atmosphere. Will return.

Given the wide (and good) choice of places to eat in Aldeburgh this would not be the most appealing first choice. However, we fancied a pub meal one evening rather than the more formal restaurant experience and the Mill did us proud. Good beer, food and quick service - heartliy recommended.

My wife had the smoked mackerel which came from the smokery across the road - less than 100 yards form the sea. The Adnams beer was good as always so that's a plus point for me. Be aware that they stop serving food at 8.30pm - we just got in before last food orders. However it did mean that there... More

Had lunch here, the food was excellent! My husband had sizzling steak on a platter with onion rings the size of his head, chips and onion, peppers and courgettes underneath. I had honey and mustard roasted salmon which came with asparagus, baby sweet corn and fried potato slices with a honey sauce and it was absolutely delicious! Well cooked, well presented and a very... Went here with a friend one night, menu looks good so went for a normal burger, had so many spices and seasoning it nearly turned my face inside out, only had half. Ale selection was ok but nothing to write home about. Mentioned to guy running the place about the burger and got a shrug then walked off.

Very good food and staff were excellent. Beer was kept well and a good pint of Adnams was well appreciated after a long day walking

Friendly, helpful staff. Extensive menu, everything fresh and beautifully prepared, especially the skate, the crayfish rolls and the fish burgers.

Lunch time, hungry and walking through Aldeburgh, we were drawn into this friendly place by the happy looking customers and piled high plates. We weren't disappointed our food (game pie and hot steak and onion sandwich) was delicious, inexpensive and of generous proportions. The staff were friendly and the service very good, decent ale too! The view from the bar... More

Called in here after intending to eat at a nearby hotel where the greeting was so unwelcoming we left. Here on the other hand we were greeted warmly by the friendly lady behind the bar. We ordered simple pub food, fish and chips and a cajun chicken platter. We were really pleasantly surprised when they arrived. Superb batter on really... More
