We liked everything. Excellent food. Really friendly staff and we were made very welcome. Especially nice was the fact that were were not rushed and had time to enjoy the whole meal.

This hotel has lost much of its original charm as the dining area has been reconfigured although some younger diners may disagree with my comment. What was a meeting room is now the brasserie. On arrival we were given a table by the window overlooking the fishing huts and we watched the passing trade until daylight disappeared whilst we perused... More

Just returned from the lightest of lunches, two simple sharing platters one fish, one meat. Both were so substantial I was pleased I had not ordered the larger ones. A couple of glasses of house wine and a table with a sea view. The waiter Andrei (from Portugal) could not have been more helpful or charming. While waiting we looked... More

Bit of a long overdue review as I dined here last month. I dined with parents and grandparents for Sunday lunch. I was looking forward to the anticipated a'la carte menu that I had read on the internet; however we we presented with a much shorter Sunday menu, still very good, just not what I was hoping for! Confit chicken... More

Have eaten here regularly over many years but after disappointing meal several months ago have given it a miss. We decided to try again and whilst the food was good, several aspects were disappointing for a hotel/restaurant of this standing. On asking for a gin & tonic I was told they were out of gin! Only more expensive brands were... More

Lovely food, but would like a vegetarian choice without cheese, don't know why all chefs think we want cheese on our dish

Don't often have fish and chips but these were exceptional. Large piece of fish, wonderful batter and home made tartare sauce. Rest of menu good too and there is a set lunch of three courses for anyone who wants it. Avoid the spiced nuts - too hot to eat. Steep steps up to the restaurant from the front but there... More

We missed out on being able to book this for Sunday lunch, so went for dinner on Monday instead. Really delicious food - a well thought out menu with something for everyone. I had the prix fixe menu, which represented excellent value at £12 for 2 courses, £16 for 3 courses with no skimping on portion size or quality.

What a lovely place, the staff were just lovely, we let them know it was our 25th Anniversary when we booked and they had a complimentary glass of champagne for us on arrival. The food was fabulous, the room is lovely, the staff are so pleasant and just the right amount of attention.

We visited the Brasserie on Saturday 11 October with friends. The welcome to the restaurant was very warm and we were offered a booth which we liked. It was comfortable and easy to chat to our guests because it was a bit quieter than a table in the middle of the room. We all had a starter and main course... More
