Description: Our new Bar and Brasserie has been inspired by a modern desire to return...
Our new Bar and Brasserie has been inspired by a modern desire to return to simple, 'back to basics' food, offering freshly prepared dishes, contemporary, informal surroundings and impeccable service. We hope the whole family will enjoy dining with us. From fresh fish bought from Dean's Shed, situated on the beach opposite the White Lion, to smoked kippers sourced from Pinney's of Orford, every ingredient used in the exciting dishes which feature on the new menu, has been 'hand picked' to guarantee an abundance of flavours - Bon Appétit.

Very Pleasant Surprise !

We visited Aldeburgh for just a few days & the White Lion was not on our list of places to try ... to be honest the building from the outside is not the most attractive of what's on offer in this very 'trendy' seaside town ........ what's the old saying 'never judge a book by it's cover" This is... read more

This restaurant had quite a good menu, though not as much fish choice as I would have expected, given it's location. The sharing dipping chocolate dessert for 2 was fabulous - the best I've ever had.

After visiting a friend in the local hospital, we decided to treat ourselves to a cream tea in the town. The tea rooms in the High Street were just closing so we called in at the White Lion. We were served a pot of tea first and the cream tea followed about five minutes later. Without even cutting into the... More

This was given as part of my husbands Christmas present . We were both very disappointed. Not enough filling in egg mayo sandwiches to taste it. White bread was dry on edges. The scones had not risen and were more like rock cakes. They even broke when I tried to cut it in half. In all very disappointing for such... More

We have visited the White Lion a number of times in recent years and it is always a great experience. The new menu has more of a French brasserie/bistro feel than previously, but the food remains excellent and extremely good value. Despite the appeal of a number of the new French dishes, most of our party defaulted to the fish... More

The fish, prawns and mussels were delicious and very fresh and tasty but the vegetables were not quite right. Perhaps a different choice of vegetables could have been used in the dish mushrooms perhaps??? - ones that were not so hard and crunchy. Otherwise - delicious!!!!

We have been here a couple of times and never been disappointed. The food and service is always good. The menu seemed to have enough choice and all dishes ordered were enjoyed.
