Description: The Brudenell Hotel is a boutique hotel situated in a fantastic seaside location, a pebble's throw from the beach at the Suffolk town of Aldeburgh. The restaurant is a wonderful place to relax and soak up panoramic views along the beach, whatever the time of year, though if youre lucky enough to visit during summer, you can take full advantage of the sea-facing al fresco terrace. It has a relaxed ambience and restaurant staff are slick and friendly. Menus at the restaurant at The Brudenell Hotel are full of seasonal produce, sourced from local suppliers. Head chef Frances Moore is responsible for creating the appealing modern European dishes on offer; his specialty is good honest food done well, like salt beef hash with a fried egg and sweet potato fries, or his own version of fish and chips. The extensive wine list offers the discerning drinker plenty of choice, and good value for money.

Visited Brudenell Hotel for afternoon tea. There were 8 of us (6 adult 2 children) so we tried to book but were assured it would be no problem. The food came on a large bathroom tile. Stale sandwiches, scones already with cream added but one scone without cream at all. No room on small table and no help from staff... More

The food was good and the service was friendly. The staff work hard during meal times and are willing to accommodate patrons as much as possible.

My partner treated me to a day out in Suffolk while our son was on a school trip to France. Lunch on the terrace at the Brudenell was something I had wanted to do for a long time and it didn't disappoint. Fish and chips washed down with a glass of pinot grigio, the sun was out and the sea... More

Dropped in for a glass of wine. Barman criticised the new pricing system and threw the wine in our glasses - running over the bar, but didn't say anything or clean up. Felt like a comedy sketch. It was such bizarre behaviour! Hotel decor looking tired and battered, but some areas under decoration so perhaps being seen to. Staff banter... More

We called for a spur of the moment lunch, mid week. Far from busy, quiet even, decor seemingly modern but tired now. Food at best average, and we felt almost like we were an imposition to lunch hour as it were….. odd. More staff than clientele. I had read good reviews so was expecting rather a lot more from the... This was my second visit to the restaurant and the food was excellent! Although the mains are a bit pricey, there is a cheaper set menu option. Staff were hilarious with singing a Happy Birthday encore for my partner. NB This restaurant also has a great patio on the beachfront and offers a more relaxed atmosphere, even if it's just... More

The food was very good, hot and freshly prepared. The menu had a decent choice with the added bonus at you can have a "small appetite portion" of many of the dishes. Great idea Brudenell. I think it fair to say it was good value for money at £60 for 3 adults having a starter and a main course each... More

We have visited this restaurant many times over the years and have never been disappointed. The food is always good and fresh, the service is second to none and the view from the restaurant window is beautiful, you can sit inside when it is lashing down with rain and enjoy watching the sea. Our next visit will include an overnight... More

This is our second visit to this restaurant which has a superb view. Sadly the service was as poor as the first time so I can't imagine giving it a third chance. The food was fine but the service was slow at every juncture and even after complaining the staff weren't attentive. We were given a small discount but the... More
