Paid our first visit to the Vane Arms for lunch today. Loved the decor and the ambience of it, a cross between an old fashioned pub and a gastro pub. Nice touches like log fire, lots of fresh flowers and magazines. Loved the floor and the lights .Delighted to see " old " friend Ray back in the kitchen with... More

Well worth a visit - excellent food, good range of wine and beers. Lovely open fire with subtle background music. You are welcomed by the host. Definitely go and try it.

Had high hopes for this place, but let down by the £13.00 fish and chips with frozen cheap dry chips and £6.00 for a dessert. will not be going back. Had better fish and chips at the almighty cod, Seaton crew.

Thank you for your comments. With regards to the accusation of us serving "expensive frozen food" the only item on our menu that is frozen are our chips. Everything that we serve is fresh and sourced as locally as possible, we even make our own sourdough bread and burger buns on a daily basis. With regards to chips, when the... More

Just been on my 4th visit the food was lovely on each occasion everything home cooked but let down by serving frozen chips for some reason. Tried the deserts this time which were divine. Reasonably priced well worth a visit.

Booked a table in order to try out a new local eaterie with my wife after reading the reviews given since October 2012 when the new owner took over. We were not disappointed. The menu is changed almost daily and all food is freshly prepared. The menu choice is not vast, but big enough for almost all. A large menu can... More

The menu was quite small.I don't like fish, can't manage a 10 oz steak, don't fancy venison hate burgers so the only thing I could order was the only chicken... More

Visited on a Tuesday night and very quiet - closes mondays. Staff welcoming and attentive - excellent service. Log fire .About 8 starters all around £5 and 10 mains around £10-12 to choose from but only 4 desserts (£4.95). Good variety though and cooked to your liking - even the burger. Well presented and sensible sized portions. Willl definately be... More
