What's happened ?

Shocked how quiet it was! Friday night, there was only our party and two other couples all night! No atmosphere at all which is a shame as it was a really popular place a few years ago! I think the food was nice, the chips were homemade, though steer clear from the deserts as they were stale and... read more

I visited for first time with group, place was very quiet for Friday evening only ourselves and two other couples, the toilets were disgusting and smelly, the restaurant had chip fat smell and the bar was dark and dirty with shoes sticking to the floor. The food was average, deserts were stale and awful and the staff by 10pm were... More

Good food, good beers would have given five stars if the service was a tad more professional. Some of the waiting on staff are amateurish and the manager came off as rude and sarcastic, we understood that yes they can be busy but as paying customers a bit more respect shall be needed next time. I enjoyed my meal and... More

Struggling to find somewhere in Hanley to eat on a Sunday lunch time so we decided to venture here on the back of good reviews. The restaurant itself is lovely and the service friendly . However the food was truly disappointing we had the melon and haddock starters followed by salmon and seabass. The mains were bland and I was... More

I was in awe of the building as I walked in, and found the church stunning. I had dinner there on a bank holiday monday evening, and my prawn starter was delicious, with a sauce I wish I had asked the recipe for. My main of salmon was also amazing, with crispy skin, it was joy to eat. Gary, the... More

This is how Sunday lunches should be. Great meet & greet, linen table cloths, Royal Albert crockery and service with a smile. Food was rather splendid too. We could only manage two courses (only £12.95) but we did admire the dessert trolley which was regularly returned to the cooler cabinet after every outing. This team is definitely going the extra... Well what can I say about the church other than the food was fantastic and the service was even better. I have read some horrible reviews on here about the attitude of the manager, my experience of him was that he could not do enough for us. The food service was quick and the waiting staff efficient and polite. Would... More

Food is amazing !! The amount you get is fantastic and doesn't leave you wanting more. The tarot evening makes it just a little different and adds an additional extra to what is already a unique night in this beautiful venue. The staff cannot do enough to help you and are extremely welcoming. Gary especially was extremely accommodating to our... More

Lovely venue, delicious piping hot, tasty, homemade food, locally sourced. Warm hospitality, lots of local history and beautiful place to eat. Ideal when visiting the theatre in Hanley too. Staff were attentive, genuine, professional and made it a perfect day for us. We'll certainly be back and will be spreading the word to others.
