This is a good local pub with a choice of traditional ales. It was very quite when we called but it was early on a Sunday lunchtime. We were made to feel welcome and enjoyed our visit. The choice of beer was very good and they hold regular beer festivals, so will be going again.

A superb 'proper' pub. As others have said, no food, TV or quiz machine, 'just' a great selection of well kept real ale. Just a shame its such a long way from home (Sussex)! However, I'll be returning next time I visit family in Stoke. Definitely the best pub that I've been to in Stoke.
The best pub in the area with a massive collection of traditional beers served by warm friendly staff,...........no tv. pool tables, darts, and strictly no karaoke...brilliant
Fantastic beers, very good atmosphere, a real clean and tidy bar, a rocky type of crowd but generally a good ale appreciative crowd! Good prices, parking and people working there. Bar snacks available to accompany your fine beer!
I’ve travelled all over the world and this is by far the best pub I’ve ever been to and its only down the road from home now so I’m very lucky to call it my local. So if you go for the first time; you’ll feel like it’s your local too; with friendly, warm and welcoming staff and an unrivalled... More
Good bar, great range of real ales which the owners seem to know how to keep (nice clean pint) good price. Not too busy & definitely a drinkers pub rather than an activity pub (no banging music etc) Well worth visit
