Love the pub - not been in for a few years and it was better than ever. Very friendly staff. Fantastic sharing platter of bread, crackers, pate, best pork pie ever, 4 different types of cheese, pickles & chutneys - delicious. Best of all great ales. As they say in the Potteries 'canna fault it duck!'

Good looking pub but completely spoiled by the bar staff who were positively unfriendly. Not recommended.

Joules have revived this pub to its former glory, the stained glass windows and the character of the interior is lovely. It was a bit quiet on a Saturday night but its probably because its tucked away. They have all of the Joules brewery beers on tap and a good selection of food from looking at the menu although I've... More

once again Joules brewery have excelled taking this once dirty, tired pub back to its former glory, the them - proper old fashioned boozer with a modern day attitude to good food and good service. As you would expect from a Joules pub the real ale was of exceptional quality. Try the Slumbering Monk its now my favourite real beer... More

You won't find a better pub in the area I guarantee. The building itself is by far the most aesthetically pleasing in the area with high ceilings, stained glass, big fire place and period features. The choice of drinks for me is fine. My weapon of choice is Stowford Press cider but a lot of people come here for the... More

This is a stonking pub that deserve all of the plaudits it regularly deserves. Well kept ale and good service. Food wise, the stars of the show are the cheese or pork pie offers plus fantastic burgers - brilliantly done and with consistency too. Well done team and keep it up!

This is the best pub in Stoke by a country mile. It is a must for everyone! First and all the 'pub side'. A great looking pub, it was a bit of a dive before as I live music venue (used to go myself about 10 years ago when i was younger) since it has been sympathetically done up with... More

Called in for a beer on way to football game excellent choice of ales and recommend the Joules beer. Staff were pleasant did not have the food but what I did see looked very inviting pub lunches and the cheese and pork pies looked tempting. Atmosphere was friendly and would call again.

Great atmosphere friendly staff, nice clientele and reasonable prices. As it was Friday free sausage rolls but sadly not vegetarian ! Food menu looked good but only served after 7 pm. Smoking area was heated too. Near to the train station - would visit again if ever in Stoke on Trent.
