Went to the Old Plough today for Sunday lunch, as I heard it was now open on a Sunday. Had a three course Sunday lunch and found the prices very reasonable for the quality of food we received. Had a beef dinner and the meat was lovely. The waitress was very attentive and couldn't do more for us. Definitely recommend... More

What more can I say !! The food was lovely and served really hot and we didn't have a long wait. The waitresses were really attentive and all I can say is well done to the new owners. So good to get real chips with traditional food these days! The chef has excellent culinary skills which I am sure many... More

The food is very nice, but not up to pre October standards, and when it's just short of £20 a plate for fillet steak you want the best! I finally found where Robs old menu is to my avail, Duke of York, longton road, barlaston! My luccifer, drunken bullock etc and most importantly those beautiful CHIPS!

This was a restaurant where you could guarantee the best steak in the city but now this is not the case. I had a filet which was not cooked properly so it as returned but still not right. No apologies but when you have a restaurant run by staff with little experience that is not surprising. Although I left a... More

Went for Lunch with my wife and daughter last weekend as a spur of the moment thing whilst shopping across the road. We arrived at 2.15pm and apparently they only serve lunch until 2pm but they still seated us and said it would not be a problem. I had a steak which was cooked to perfection and melted in my... More

After hearing mixed reviews about the food under the new management we thought we would go and try ourselves. We both had a hot sandwich with chips and salad. I had a beef with Stilton and my friend had chicken. The beef was just cooked meat off a deli counter and rather tasteless, the chicken was ok, chips were frozen... More

Six of us visited on the plough in Etruria on 8/03/2014, we were very disappointed with menu choice, and there was no specials board. We booked a table for 7.15pm only to be told that there was no fish and only 7 steak pies left. I think it was overpriced for what you got. There is also a poor selection... More

My partner and I had been here before when the other couple ran the plough, the food was outstanding, home baked desserts and more choice on menu. We thought this would be a nice treat for my step sons birthday. The food was average, frozen chips and shop bought desserts. We had to send the steaks back as not cooked... More

Six of us friends visited the Old Plough after quite some: it was quite disappointing and a bit of a rip off. The choice of menu was almost non-existence, the steak and ale pie had gone (at 7.30 pm!) and the steaks were expensive £17.95 and with sauces £19.95. When the meals came we all looked at each other and... More
