Lunch

Decided to give this a try as been past a few times and thought it looked good.,we were the only people in there so the service was good. We were given a lunchtime menu and ordinary menu, the waitress took our drinks order while we chose food. I went for pate and my hubby went for fish cakes for... read more

We arrived without a booking at 3pm on a Sunday. A carvery was advertised until 4pm when the normal menu would be available again. One course was £10 - all fine so far. The gastro pub was decorated in a modern style with a pleasant glass roofed extension and the garden was attractive. However when we came to order our... More

Called hear last night for a meal and it was superb. Menu is so big it's hard to choose. There is a dish for everyone. Service was great even as it was a sat night and very busy. Made to feel very welcome. Really couldn't fault it Atall The food is all local and tastes fantastic

Visited for Sunday lunch with my wife on recommendation from a friend. We had not booked a table but the staff were very helpful, and despite the restaurant being very busy, we were shown to the bar area and then escorted to a table within fifteen minutes. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the tables are well laid out, catering... More

Visited for Easter Sunday lunch with my wife. Booked for 4pm which is effectively the cut-off for the carvery but they kept open for us. Starters, especially the Cream of Broccoli soup was to die for. The roast meats were very tasty with great vegetable accompaniments. Was so full could not manage a pudding. Great food and service. Highly recommended!

I came here with some friends last Friday evening for a girly night, even though it was busy we got great service. Staff were extremely friendly and chatty. Me being that awkward customer had fish cakes starter for my main with lots of sides. It was lovely and the ameretto cheesecake was out of this world. I will definitely be... More

Visited with my parents. Clean crockery, clean cutlery, clean toilets, nice décor, good spacing between tables. Two courses for £9.99 was good value and the prices on the main menu were in the medium range of most restaurants. Mum had fish and chips which she said was lovely. Dad had Gammon and chips which he said was really good. I... More

Went here for lunch on friday with 3 friends. I have been here before 3 times now and the food and service have been spot on. I live in the southwest (devon) and i am spoilt for choice of good restaurants, but this place has a special part in my food heaven when in stafford. We all went for the... More

We had reserved a table at the restaurant, on arrival we were pushed out the back to the bar and were told to get a drink. This would have been fine but we were never even offered a drink despite there being 3 bar staff and only 2 of us at the bar. We were eventually sat down after finding... More

We went here for a meal with friends on a Saturday night. When we arrived and 8pm, the restaurant was buzzy, with many people enjoying their meals. When it came to ordering our meal, we were told that our main choice of starter was off (baked camberbert I think) as they had run out. The gent taking our order (the... More
