Decided to give this a try as been past a few times and thought it looked good.,we were the only people in there so the service was good. Went here for lunch on friday with 3 friends. I have been here before 3 times now and the food and service have been spot on. I live in the southwest (devon) and i am spoilt for choice of good restaurants, but this place has a special part in my food heaven when in stafford. We all went for the... More

We had reserved a table at the restaurant, on arrival we were pushed out the back to the bar and were told to get a drink. This would have been fine but we were never even offered a drink despite there being 3 bar staff and only 2 of us at the bar. We were eventually sat down after finding... More

We went here for a meal with friends on a Saturday night. When we arrived and 8pm, the restaurant was buzzy, with many people enjoying their meals. When it came to ordering our meal, we were told that our main choice of starter was off (baked camberbert I think) as they had run out. The gent taking our order (the... More

Ate here with the grandchildren prior to seeing the superb Xmas illuminations in the village. This offers the advantage of free parking. The menu is varied and caters for all tastes. Service is good and the restaurant has a pleasant modern ambience. Recommended as very child friendly.

I'm always a little bit wary going out for a meal at christmas, but I had no need to worry The staff are very welcoming and knowledgable one of our party has a garlic allergy and they were only too happy to recommend dishes to her. I'm vegetarian and had a lovely veggie Wellington The decor and atmosphere is very... More

All our meals were excellent - 3 adults 1 child - plenty of choice from the a la carte or special Christmas menu and enough of a selection for children. The staff were very helpful and welcoming and the whole atmosphere was very Christmassy !! (Even mum in law enjoyed it and that's a tough cookie to crack !!) We... More

8 of us met on Wednesday and had a very enjoyable evening. We were quickly served with drinks and then seated at a comfortable and well decorated round table - which meant for easy and relaxed conversation. The service was prompt and any little extras speedily produced. The food was well received by all with the exception of the Eton... More

Four miles outside Stafford on the way to Newport with a large carpark just before leaving the village this is a massively redeveloped village pub now aiming at diners from across two counties. The dinning room is new but a light and airy delight with just enough decoration to provide interest for our young children but not too much to... More

I have been here twice for family meals recently and have been been particularly impressed. The decor is quite nice and the staff friendly. The food, however, never matches up to the overly flowery description in the menu.
