Great home cooked food and the friendliest waitresses in town. Try the scones they're great and the cooked breakfast is beautiful with locally sourced food used.

I went to university in Stafford and always thought this looked like a nice restaurant but never actually got round to visiting until after I graduated. I liked it straight away and now always want to have lunch here when I visit Stafford. While trying to think of somewhere to meet up with a group of extended family I thought... More

A large party of us booked to eat here on a Saturday lunchtime. The food and the service were both excellent and our large order was dealt with quickly and accurately. I wish all restaurants were this efficient - well done to all concerned.

Proper full English breakfast with a decent cup of tea. The beauty of the soup kitchen is it is a proper English cafe with old school values and proper service

My husband and I stopped for a light lunch at the Soup Kitchen whilst out shopping in Stafford. The actual building dates from the 16th century and is beautiful and deceptively large inside. We were greeted promptly and shown to a table immediately. All the waitresses are attired in "proper" uniforms and are extremely friendly and attentive, without being intrusive.... More

I had always heard about the Soup Kitchen, and had seen the adverts and plaques advertising it on my journey into Stafford but had never really been impressed by the look of it from the outside imagining it to be a dusty little tea room. I was so wrong. I went there this afternoon for lunch with my partner and... More

We visit the Soup Kitchen regularly, for a drink, a bit of cake or lunch. Always superb. On this occasion we headed in for a spot of afternoon tea. Served on lovely china the sandwiches, selection of cakes and legendary Soup Kitchen scones were delicious. We sat peacefully while we served by attentive friendly staff. Very reasonably priced. Mark, many thanks for this much appreciated review - I am so pleased you enjoyed the fresh scones from our bakehouse. Indeed I am eating one now and the crumbs are getting in the keyboard - now that's not very elegant! Thanks for visiting us so often. Kind regards from Duncan and all at The Soup Kitchen. More
