Third time we have been here and enjoyed all times. Last night food and service excellent. Couldn't fault it. Just wished we lived nearer!!

Menu is too fussy. Someone has gone to great lengths to make the food sound exotic and therefore staple favourites, like plain old chicken or steak are not available. Service very good and food nicely cooked. Not my cup of tea.

My partner and I took my mom for a birthday meal. It had been years since I'd been to the Red Lion and the place had changed completely. The interior was tasteful and inviting, although some of the cozyness and charm of the old Lion had been removed with the refurb. The meals were well presented and cooked perfectly, with... More

We have lunched several times at this pub/restaurant and have never been disappointed. Service is friendly, prompt and knowledgeable. On Saturday 6 April we decided not to have a full lunch, but simply soup and a bespoke sandwich. Not only were both excellent, but the real ale ordered to accompany our meal was expertly kept. We shall continue to be regulars.

Visited on Mothering Sunday with my wife and son. Had a really good meal, tender beef sirloin and a real home cooking style all round meal. Service was excellent and the restaurant has a nice ambience.

Visited Feb 2013 and ordered two starters and two main courses. The food quality and presentation were very good, but the portion sizes were too small. I ordered pork belly and it was literally three mouthfuls of meat and maybe one and a half potatos mashed up. The bill came to £50, and that doesn't include any drinks or dessert!... More

The Chefs at The Red Lion have recently changed their butcher - the beef and gammon steaks are now even better: even more succulent and with more flavour. The service continues to be excellent, the menu choices first rate and the overall quality exceptional.
