Although not busy during our visit the service was very slow. The food was ok and the venue characterful.

Dined at Chandlers for the first time today for Sunday lunch. Food was great and whilst waitresses were friendly the service was very very slow even though there were only 4 other tables occupied. Seemed to take ages to take our order for our main course and must have been sitting there for at least 20 minutes before our dessert... More

The old Lichfield Corn Exchange is now the impressive setting for Chandlers. Diners can still get the feel of the original room which has been splendidly refurbished sustaining the feel of the ancient structure. We have visited on a number of occasions as it is convenient for the centre of Lichfield and the Garrick Theatre. Over the years it has... More

This is an overdue review relating to a valentines day meal, and the reason for delaying the review is to see if chandlers bother to respond to our 2 letters of complaint.... They have not, so here is the review. Myself and my partner were booked in for valentines day, firstly, it had been a rainy day and so the... More

Great starters and mains, the three of us really enjoyed it. The asparagus with egg starter tasted fab and the steak was tasty, great service and food, the only reason why not 5 out of 5 was the waitress didn't offer us any bread and it took a lifetime to flag someone down for the bill at the end so you could... It is a long time since my other half and I had a meal in any restaurant and were so happy with both the service and the food. From the moment we walked in to be greeted with warmth, to leaving, we had a fabulous meal in a very pleasant environment with exceptional staff and service. My starter, to be... More

As a regular for lunch to this smart but very cold place, the warning signs were there. The staff changed as often as I visited which was every 6-8 weeks. Poorly trained staff gave short measures in the drinks weren't prepped for guessed with knowledge of any specials even soup of the day. A sandwich surely has a choice of... More

We regularly visit chandlers and never fails to disappoint. Two of us had soup to start but the bread was stale so suggest reviewing their bread supplier. The lamb rump was excellent as were the potatoes and chips. The Italian house red wine was also very good although the bramble cocktail had too much ice which detracted from the overall... More

We enjoyed our meal very much. The man who was front of house in a suit whilst being polite just did not seem to fit the restaurant. He seemed to spend an awful amount of time at the till and desk. My one main gripe was the rum soaked bread and butter pudding with caramel sauce. DON'T HAVE IT!.. It... More

Went here with my wife as we live locally and always wanted to pop in and try. Immediately after walking through the door we were asked what we wanted in quite a stern manner by the barman from across the other side of the Room. (ie what do you want?) Normally we like to get inside and sit down or... More
