Had Sunday lunch here during the Christmas hols, after the rush, with the restaurant quite empty. Good to see the pot of tea arrived with extra hot water, however, the meals were a little less satisfying. Portions were a good size, and the tables/ crockery/ cutlery were generally clean. The main issue was with the gravy, that had a strange... More

An excellent spot in the Cathedral close. Chapters is a ramshackle arrangements of rooms and garden that provides standard cafe fare. I had a soup, difficult to discern that it was actually bacon and potato, but tasty enough. My partner had a quiche and salad. Both very reasonably priced. On the day that we visited during a busy half term... More

Such slow service for mediocre cakes and coffee although the price is reasonable. The French onion soup was the worst I have ever encountered, so sweet, opaque, and lacking in onion flavour so I did not eat it. Add to this over micro-waved bread, says it all. Walked into centre on 2 other occasions and had much better food.

While touring the Cathedral, we were told to come back at 2pm to talk to the guide if we wanted more answers. So we needed a place for lunch, and the cafe was the obvious place to go. It is a nice bright little cafe with a decent number of options. We chose cream tea and a panini. Both were... More

I had a very nice lunch here today, the broccoli and bacon soup was lovely with warm and very fresh brown bread. It's nice that they have some gluten free options. Nice staff too, and I liked the interior.

The title says it all. Moderately helpful staff. Average food. Charming outside garden. It's on the Cathedral Close, so it's in proximity to Lichfield's greatest treasure. Chapters is a decent place to take a break when experiencing the cathedral and its environs.

After a visit to the cathedral we called in to the Chapters Restaurant. The drinks were very reasonably priced and we had a slice of homemade date cake which was delicious. They also had an outside eating area for those rare sunny days.

We went here for lunch and I was not impressed by the standard of food. Firstly the cake was very small for the price. I ordered a BLT and when it came, the bacon was covered in hard white fat, so I returned it, as it had obviously been sitting in fat for quite a long time, highlighting it as... More
