Superb scones one of the best cream teas we have eaten! Staff friendly and good value, must be good people were booking for a table
My husband and I called in at Cheddar after a couple of days away in Yeovil. What a lovely surprise to find the Edelweiss, with its own parking, and lovely food. It was very busy when we arrived, but we found a table and were served by a very friendly efficient waitress. The Tea Room was lovely and cosy, fresh... More
We had a traditional afternoon tea at Edelweiss. The service was quick and the cakes were very tasty. The sandwiches were basic but made with very good quality ingredients. The scones were lovely and came with plenty of jam and clotted cream. The view over the river was lovely.
We visit Cheddar occasionally and there are some nice pubs and cafes in the area we go back to. This time we thought we would try somewhere new. It is a nice location by the river with easy parking. Sadly, the service and food do not match the certificate in the window. The waitress was efficient, but not very friendly.... More
Fabulous service FOH, very accommodating with my fussiness about the full breakfast. Fantastic bacon, lovely pot of tea, cherry tomatoes roasted. Loved it, will definitely go back :-)
We stopped for lunch at this lovely little restaurant and were not disappointed. The food was hot and very tasty. The menu was varied and well priced. The service was good and the staff were very friendly. I would certainly go again if I was in the area.
We had a great afternoon at Cheddar and decided to have dinner at the Edeweiss cafe, after reading reviews on the tripadvisor, my two sons and my partner had a three course meal and I just had a main (could not manage three courses myself) every meal was cooked lovely and was very tasty, we were all enjoyed our meals... Nice pot of tea and lovely cake. Pleasant staff even though it was nearly closing time, would have visited again if we had time. Just the perfect end to a days walking!
Just back from holiday , but while we were there we had our meals every day at Edelweiss the food was just brilliant and not too expensive for home cooked food the service was excellent nothing was any trouble for the staff we will visit there again when we return to Somerset .
We visited on 1st September 2013.Two adults and two children. We had a pot of tea for two which was a pot containing two pg tips tea bags for £3.60. It was ok, but it would cost very little more to have loose leaf tea. Cream teas were £4. Meals are around £9. Surroundings are clean, but a little uninspiring.
