We had tried to go to this tea room the day before but it had been full. We can understand why when we eventually did eat there. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the food lovely and fresh and reasonably priced compared to what we had experienced elsewhere !

If you want a warm welcome with great food Derricks is the place to visit. The owner and all staff are always welcoming, nothing too much trouble. The tea room is also dog friendly both in the garden area and inside, especially good after a brisk Winter walk or on a typical British Summer day when you really want to... More

Turned up here quite late in the day and actually thought they might be closing but we were welcomed in and enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea. I was with my husband, his parents and 93 year old grandmother. When we first sat down the door was held open and it was quite a chilly day in the wind which made... More

This tea room is lovely and serves a good range of foods. Unfortunately it was a bit over crowded and busy when we visited, but I guess they are a victim of their own success in that respect! We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch there and were impressed with their range of teas. Would probably revisit, but would make sure it... More

The afternoon tea was very appetizing. The homemade jam were outstanding. We would recommend it to all the visitors of Cheddar.

A great, tasty breakfast. Friendly service, well presented, no tea bags. If it was local I would have breakfast here every morning.

Went yesterday with an Amazon voucher for Afternoon Tea. The service was quick, friendly and totally top notch. No complaints only praise on that front. The atmosphere is quaint, relaxed and enjoyable including the choice of background music. Our voucher price of £10 made it even better. My only buts (i) with such a nice little place does the butter... More

Dear Adewotton, Thanks for your great review. We are glad you enjoyed the food, atmosphere and music too. Just one thing, we don't serve butter with Afternoon Tea unless it is requested, which if it is then yes it is butter portions. Hope this doesn't put you off coming again. Regards. Simon & the team. Myself and 3 others called into Derrick's Tearoom for breakfast. We had the Big breakfast and it was excellent, service was very good and Derrick is a really nice guy. If your in Cheddar and want something to eat, try Derricks. He has a good menu and it's all reasonably priced. Nice quaint tearoom with a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

Dear PhilipB417, Thanks for your great review, we are glad you enjoyed your breakfast. We are all curious as to who you thought was Derrick as this is the second name of the family that started the Tea Room over a 100 years ago! But we all want to claim the glory of the comment! Hope to see you again... More

My wife and I were staying in Weston-Super-Mare and had purchased a voucher for half price breakfast at Derrick's. As we had eaten a full English at our hotel, we booked a table for the last breakfast sitting at about 12.30pm. A walk up and down the beautiful gorge (in glorious sunshine) diminished the effects of our earlier breakfast without... More

My boyfriend and I visited on a Saturday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised by the level of service - The tea rooms were very busy (it was a gorgeous sunny day), and the service was at times a little slower than we'd have liked... That being said, when we were served the staff were cheerful, attentive and polite, and with... More
