Visited for a quick lunch while visiting Cheddar gorge. Very nice friendly staff and good selection of lunch items. Hot chocolate was delightful and appreciated on a cold day! Dog friendly too so that was a bonus. Would visit again if in the area.

Derrick's has a real vintage, shabby chic feel about it. They offer a wide selection of teas which are served in vintage china!. We had a cream tea and although the tea itself was excellent, the scones let it down a bit as they were quite small and a bit stingy with the cream portions. However, it was still good... More

Fantastic selection of teas. Loose leaf with strainers and proper china tea cups. Great service. Subtle but lively period music. Only small drawback... plates for scones were really small and I made a mess everywhere. We highly recommend this tea room.

We headed for Cheddar yesterday afternoon with the intention of having afternoon tea somewhere. As the weather turned wet and windy, we parked just up the road from Derrick's. We walked past a Costa Cafe and my wife asked if I wanted to go in there but i said I wanted something more homely and "English"! We called in to... More

This is a quaint, slightly expensive cafe. The outside area was packed on the day of our visit but there was a table for us inside. You always sense that when you arrive at a destination which is popular with tourists you will have ancillary shops feeding off it and create tourist traps. At least Derrick's Tea Rooms have a... Had breakfast here on saturday, was quiet in café but waitress welcomed us and advised us of menu options. Breakfast was very well cooked and a good sized portion. Tea and coffee was hot and good quality. Would recommend for service, friendliness and good decent food
