Came here today after visiting the caves. Very friendly staff who couldn't have been more attentive. Outside seating in the pretty garden. We had the special deal of sandwich and cream tea which came with well filled sandwiches and the fluffiest scones I have had for a while. Just need to sort out the (not working) light in the toilets!

Called in for a snack when we arrived in Cheddar. Friendly service, clean and best of all a brilliant pot of tea.. So we thought "Let's see what they offer for lunch" I had the 3 cheese ploughmans which was lovely and my husband had a jacket pot with chilli (not very spicy) Both meals presented well and very good... Cam here for breakfast on a voucher deal. It was lovely. Friendly service, generous & very tasty breakfast. The sauté potatoes with it were a lovely touch. As it was a gorgeous day we sat outside which was bliss as the scenery is lovely. Garden full of flowers and rock formations awesome. Took a cream tea away with us which... More

We visited Derrick's for lunch after spotting a flyer in the National Trust shop saying that National Trust members get a 15% discount there (you have to show your membership card to get the discount). We got there about 12pm and it was pretty quiet but got considerably busier not long after. Table space seems plenty though as there are... More

We have visted Derrick's tea rooms many times over the last 10 years and it just keeps getting better and better as the food is the best in Somerset well presented and freshly cooked and prepared to the highest standard. The tea room is spotlessly clean the staff are helpful and friendly and they even allow dogs which is very... More

We've just stumbled across this restaurant accidentally, without knowing it's the most recommended one in the Cheddar Gorge. Very lucky! There was a garden table available, the day was sunny, the strawberry tea was fantastic.

Called in for a late breakfast and was nicely surprised as the meal was excellent and reasonably priced, only down side is space at busy times.

After reading such good reviews I visited here on Monday with my parents plus aunt & uncle who are over from Australia. We sat in the garden and were served fairly soon. I had a chocolate cream tea - 2 choc chip scones with choc spread & clotted cream for £4.95, the others had cream teas at the same price.... More

Great place for cream tea. Space is rather tight and place busy. However staff were pleasant and the scones and tea we had, very good.

Food was basic but nice cheese used in the pannis. Cream tea menu was the best I've ever seen although I did nog get a chance to try to verify the quality. Quick service as empty when we arrived.
