Visit for good food and excellent ales

Fortunately I visited before reading the review from Mary-Marc I cannot comment about the sound issues since I went during lunchtime when it was quiet suffice to say this is a popular pub. As regards the food I had no complaints finding the quality and quantity plus the service excellent. I was... read more

We cannot understand the good reviews. If you want to go here for the ale, fine, but this is a drinkers' place which gets lots of noisy groups which dominate the rather small space, even upstairs where we ate, much to our regret. The pies are average only and you pay extra for chips and vegetables. The meal ended up... More

A typical old fashioned pub with a great selection of real ale (I had the Raven which was excellent) on offer. They also have a fabulous selection of pies on offer but unfortunately we're not eating this time.

Great beers, fabulous pieminister pies and mash, down to earth atmosphere and friendly staff. I often take visitors to Bath here and everyone so far has loved it.

I've been before......but going to the theatre with old friends we meet in The Raven on my recommendation. I can report that the atmosphere is still good, the choice of ales is excellent, the service is friendly and reasonably swift and the combination of gravy and pies ( or sausages) remains super! So if you want consistency in food, ales and service... More

I'm not exactly a pie lover but upon the recommendation of a friend who said we must try this place so we went ahead to check out this place. Got a lil lost looking for it but found it when we least expected it. It was a good hunt tho as the weather was getting colder towards the evening. Upon... More

We enjoyed the choice of hand pulled real ales and liked the general ambience of the pub. The staff were friendly and the service ok. My partner and I had Raven Ale pie and although tasty enough, the pastry was rather soggy suggesting the pie had been microwaved. What a shame, as otherwise this would have been a five star... More

Great pub for pies (meat fish and vegetarian options) and loads of tasty local ales, worth a visit but go early / late if you want to get a table.

Good and unusual beers. I particularly liked the logo and bought a glass and a beer mat. Well worth a visit.

We visited The Raven on Saturday 28 February 2015 for lunch having been recommended by a friend. It was very busy but two nice chaps made their table free for us downstairs right opposite the front door - very draughty but at least we had a seat. The range of draught beers and cider on tap was excellent and the... More
