The Bath Priory restaurant in Bath has held a Michelin star since October 2012. Found within the Bath Priory Hotel, a Georgian mansion of honey-coloured stone, it’s a great place when you want sophisticated food in an elegant setting. Executive Chef Sam Moody, creates stellar dishes with a strong emphasis on kitchen garden ingredients with an inventive use of traditional herbs and flowers. A beautiful environment; fantastic terrace overlooking the well-tended gardens for drinks beforehand. Excellent sommelier to help with wine choices. One of our favourites for special occasions. Last visit was for our wedding anniversary when we had the ten-course taster menu and accompanying wine flight. Everything was exquisite. A delicious Sunday lunch with friends, but we did not expect to be surrounded by fellow diners dressed in shorts, denim and cheap T shirts. We expected much better.

We went to celebrate a big birthday. They were very welcoming and helpful on arrival and took us to the spa as we were nearly late for our massage. The room was well appointed with nice views over the gardens. A stroll around the beautiful gardens is time well spent whatever the weather The tasting menu dinner was delicious with... More

Sadly this was a disappointing experience. They got our booking wrong and put us back an hour. We had chosen the 8 course tasting menu so their error in the booking meant our last course was not placed on the table until midnight which was far too late to be eating. The food was tasty but a bit boring. The... More

We arrived on a lovely summer evening & after wandering around the gardens, had a drink before moving inside for the tasting menu. The sommelier was absolutely fantastic. The food was wonderful - apart from one course - Montgomery cheddar cheese on toast if I remember correctly - but staff were attentive and it was a lovely evening.

Double Birthday Celebration Drinks on the terrace before and after overlooking a very elegant garden. Lunch was served to perfection by a host of waiters removing the meat covers in unison much to the delight of the Grandchildren ! Expensive but worth it for a Double 50 th Birthday celebration

We have spent a family week end in this hotel. Given the price we paid (800 £ per night) I had high expectations for this hotel. I have to say it was one of my biggest disappointments in hotels. Apart from the restaurant that is very good, the pool is a joke you can't even call that a pool. The... More

We went for the ten course tasting menu. Absolutely excellent although there was a mix-up at the beginning when I was served scallops (I had earlier advised that I was allergic to shellfish). If you take the wine flight with the meal watch out for the (very friendly) sommelier as she seems intent on killing you! Ask for smaller glasses... More
