Description: The Bath Priory restaurant in Bath has held a Michelin star since October...
The Bath Priory restaurant in Bath has held a Michelin star since October 2012. Found within the Bath Priory Hotel, a Georgian mansion of honey-coloured stone, it’s a great place when you want sophisticated food in an elegant setting. Executive Chef Sam Moody, creates stellar dishes with a strong emphasis on kitchen garden ingredients with an inventive use of traditional herbs and flowers. Where possible, all meat is locally sourced and the menu sticks closely to what’s in season. "

Excellent - and getting better

Been here a number of times in recent years and the standard of food is improving. Now well worth its Michelin star! Service is excellent. Beautiful gardens in which to enjoy a drink beforehand. Downside is the ghastly dated artwork in the sitting rooms - ugh - time for a modern revamp.

This place is simply outstanding in every respect. From the moment you arrive you are treated like royalty, taken into a small lounge and served nibbles whilst you have a drink. The food is outstanding and on a completely different level. They offer an amazing lunchtime fixed price menu for £21. A must visit for that price!!!

Wonderful hotel - especially nice to enjoy drinks on the terrace. Visited for spa evening and dinner. Spa is lovely and tried the outside pool - lovely setting. Ate on the terrace - limited vegetarian menu, in fact on the pantry menu there was nothing or next to nothing. Ambience wonderful though and would visit definitely again !

We went to The Bath Priory for an anniversary meal. I had never been to a Michelin star restaurant before and boy was I blown away! The food is superb, service first class and the gardens a delight. A totally lovely experience from arrival to final exit several hours later. We went as a group of seven people yet everything... More

I hadn't been to eat here for many, many years and while I enjoyed my dinner, I thought that £80 for a three course dinner was over-priced. Certainly the terrace is a lovely place to have pre-dinner drinks, but the food service in the restaurant was a bit hit and miss. I think lunch sounds much better value for money.

For my money, the best dining in Bath. Pricey, but pretty perfect food, service, atmosphere, wine list. We've eaten here once for my wife's birthday. They asked me when I booked if it was for an occasion and when we got to desert, the chef has specially prepared a NAMED toffee brittle presentation specially for her. We were knocked out.... More

Celebratory lunch for son's degree on hottest day of the year with group of 7; daughter is a little late, no problem. It's a little too hot for drinks & canapés on the terrace and the restaurant is not air conditioned. Multi course tasting menu a pure delight from start to finish. Only 2 bottles of wine keeps cost down... More

I would say this may have been one of the best meals I have ever had. It is fine European dining at its best. Be prepared to spend a lot of time and a lot of money. If you go into it knowing that then you can enjoy an incredible meal. The food was incredible. Fresh flavors, simple ingredients and... More

My friend and I met for lunch and what a treat we had, canapes and drinks on the terrace and then the most wonderful lunch with the passion fruit souffle exceeding every expectation. A walk around the gardens and coffee and petit fours on the terrace. Service was meticulous and it was excellent value for money.

Where do I start? Such a lovely hotel for a wedding. The afternoon tea was spectacular. The wedding meal could not have been better. Service, location, rooms are all perfect. I only wish my husband had bought the teddy bear!
