Description: The Bath Priory restaurant in Bath has held a Michelin star since October 2012. Found within the Bath Priory Hotel, a Georgian mansion of honey-coloured stone, it’s a great place when you want sophisticated food in an elegant setting. Executive Chef Sam Moody, creates stellar dishes with a strong emphasis on kitchen garden ingredients with an inventive use of traditional herbs and flowers. Where possible, all meat is locally sourced and the menu sticks closely to what’s in season. "

We stayed on Tuesday 26th August to celebrate our sliver wedding anniversary, and chose the tasting menu with the accompanying wines for each course. The food was superb and the wines were beautifully matched and explained. Some of the wines we would not have thought of ourselves, with one or two "left field choices" included, but, then that's the fun... More

We've been exploring some of the English country house hotels that serve that delicious speciality: afternoon tea. The hotel is conveniently located around a mile from the city centre. Typical old Bath stone large house, beautifully decorated with lots of antiques, old paintings and having a great ambience. Afternoon tea followed usual offering with a selection of finger sandwiches; scones... More

We had the tasting menu on Saturday evening. Each dish was explained to us by our waiters in detail and they were very cheerfully helpful throughout the evening. Most memorable dishes were the scallop and the desserts - what a wonderful note to end a perfect meal on.

On first glance you think tired old clichéd manor house. Wondering why you didn't bring Nan. But... Then, it has a surprisingly amount of warmth and heart, an honesty in hospitality that resembles some of the famous auberges of France. The food is clean, modern with a classical nod. Light, and with excellent depth of flavour too. Seasoning is from... More

When you want to dine in style this could be that place. Great service and really great food and wine served in the surroundings that shout class and sophistication. Not pretentious at all. The Priory made our anniversary celebrations with family very special. The only part that felt rushed was when we arrived and were encouraged to choose our drinks... More

Faultless, from the greeting you receive upon arrival to the thanks that you get upon departure this restaurant helps to give Bath it's high quality reputation. Everything about this restaurant is good, the total experience, menu, service, wine selection and ambiance all contribute to a wholly worthwhile experience.

Had the taster menu incl optional extra cheese course. Drinks on patio with "snacks" was lovely and the eight course meal all beautiful. We had the wine flight which at a glass per course was a lot to drink esp as the courses were tiny. Expensive but worth it for smspecialoccasion

Had lunch here on a Thursday. The set menu was very reasonably priced for such a fancy place and my food was very nice (my aunt and mother weren't so fussed with their mains). The staff were very pleasant but the service was really slow. We were there for about 2 and a half hours and only had two courses.... More

Some very good friends bought me a Lunch for Two voucher as a birthday present some time ago, which I promptly lost! The good people at the Priory not only honoured the voucher but added an extra month when I discovered that I had missed the expiry date! I have to say our lunch was one of the best ever:... More

I have now eaten here for Sunday lunch twice and the value for money continues to astound me! Beautiful Michelin star quality food with great professional service for around £30 a head for 3 courses. It simply can't be beaten and I will continue to return to what I consider to be my find of this year.
