Situated next to the Theatre Royal in the centre of Bath, the Garrick's Head Pub and and Dining Room offers a delicious selection of locally inspired dishes. Using seasonal ingredients and making everything fresh on site the kitchen serves traditional pub dishes such as fresh cod in beer batter with triple cooked chips and "the best burger in Bath" to more complex creations, Venison steak with a mini cottage pie of venison or poached Guinea fowl with wild garlic both popular at the moment. The Garrick's Head is ideally situated for pre Theatre dining as it is directly next door to the theatre so you are only minutes from your seat. Often described as a country pub in the city centre the Garrick's Head has roaring fires, four real ales and over 50 whiskeys, very much a pub with a dining room there are also over 50 seats outside on the terrace, perfect for watching Baths beautiful people come and go.

Went for one drink. Stayed for several! Great selection of well cared for ales and and ciders. The wine list looked impressive too. Very comfortable place and worth a visit!

We booked a table with a good reccomendation from our hotel. The staff very friendly and helpful. I was told the pie was chicken and leek so went along and ordered, my partner had the burger. The meals came very nicely prepared but the pie that came out was a venison one, I tried to just eat it, grin and... More

Visited for lunch with some friends - one had fish and chips, one moules, one ploughmans and one a sandwich. One beer, one coffee and 2 soft drinks and the bill was £55 which is pretty steep. Food and beer was good though and the service excellent. I guess it's central city location (next to the Theatre Royal) means that... More

A good looking menu, but poorly produced food. Overpriced to boot. Indifferent service. Would not make a return visit.

We popped into The Garrick's Head for lunch after a busy morning, enticed by a sign outside stating 'Best Fish and Chips in Bath!' Having recently returned from a long period of time in the UAE, we couldn't resist the lure of that great British staple, fish and chips. We found a table outside and ordered lunch. Service was very... More

Totally agree with Sydney T's previous review. I had the Garrick's meat pie which consisted mostly of thick pastry with barely any meat in it. At nearly £14.00, a rip-off ! To be fair, my partner said the pumpkin pie was average. Neither of us could believe the dessert prices, which were unusually high, even for Bath. After experiencing the... More

Just got back from a great meal with friends and a dog. Place is really dog friendly and does great food (I'd recommend the burgers). One side has a more casual pub feel and the other is more of a smart restaurant. We had a drink in the pub bit before heading through to the restaurant. I'd highly recommend this... More

Advertised as the best fish and chips in Bath. Quality of the food was good but have tasted better and disappointed with the peas.

We stumbled across this place at the weekend while looking for somewhere to eat. We had a drink in the bar while waiting for a seat for dinner. The food was simply gorgeous and the staff were nothing but friendly. The menu is a perfect mix of fine dining and the usual pub options (done extremely well).
