Lovely dinner

Phoned on the off-chance and got a late booking for 10pm. Food was great (crab & apple salad was fresh and light; for mains bream was delicious as was the boar saltimbucco) , portions were generous and service very good. Ambience was good and tables not packed too close together.

Some flashes of brilliance such as the Monkfish cevice and the spatchcock quail. A Mezze plate was also interesting. However, curry goat lacked spice and the accompanying rice was tasteless. Short but interesting wine list.

I booked this place based on the reviews on this site. My son and I were visiting Bath for a couple of days and I wanted really good food. The Circus delivered and some!! Our booking was a bit of a mix up but thankfully we got it sorted quickly. Starter was quail and main course sea bass. Both were... More

Other reviews have described this restaurant as a little jewel. They were right! Very welcoming from entering, the staff are exceptionally helpful with just the right amount of humour to make you feel comfortable. The downstairs restaurant is relatively small but well laid out so that you do not feel "crowded". The menu is interesting giving a good choice of... More

Had a lovely lunch here and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The service was second to none and made our lunch a very pleasurable experience. Will definitely go back next time we visit Bath!

My partner and I have dined at the Circus twice recently and really enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. With the vast choice of eating places in Bath it is unusual for us to return to a restaurant so quickly, but we were so impressed on our first visit we couldn't wait to try it again and we were not... What a great restaurant! The food and service were both excellent! Very friendly staff as well!!! Although some what expensive, our entrees were very generous portions with lovely, freshly baked breads offered and served with our meal (and there was no charge for this -- are you seeing this Casanis????) The sourdough was so good (but they ran out --... More

Thank you very much for your great review. I'm so sorry we ran out of sourdough bread on your visit, we don't usually, but, as you say, it is really fantastic bread from Bertinet and obviously there was a huge run on it on this occasion.....! Also, we always have a chocolate dessert on our pudding menu but perhaps you... More

The food and service at Circus is excellent and does not disappoint. Everything is so fresh and the menu complements seasonal foods. There is also a good selection of wine to enjoy with your dinner. I had the parma ham, nectarine, buffalo mozzarella and rocket salad with a Sicilian lemon dressing as a starter. For my main, I enjoyed a... More

My partner took me here for my birthday. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We had the mezze plate to share as a starter. It was delicious. They offered us some lovely bread to go with it. For main the sea bass was really great quality. The dish came with 2 really delicious chunky filets of sea bass which... More

Ate here last night, based on reviews here we were expecting great things and we were not disappointed. The welcome is warm, the service is friendly and the food is delicious. We ate mezze, roast chicken with lavender, fish with lentils, blackcurrant creme brulee and summer fruit brioche. Good selection of wines too and reasonably priced for the standard of... More
