We ate here last night and had such a wonderful evening. It started when Dennis showed us to our table and we had a laugh that set the scene for the rest of the evening. We had wine with our meal that was chilled and very good. Then the food arrived, amazing. There were four of us and all our... More

A wet early August day meant we ate inside and not in the small but cosy looking garden room at the rear. The beer and wines were of the usual great standard you come to expect of a Bath ales establishment . We ordered the fish and chips and the Gammon. The food was very good, service was quick and... Great Food, Superb Ale. Friendly Welcoming Atmosphere. What else do you want???? Weekday evenings I have found The Hop Pole full of students. Nothing wrong with that. I just prefer a little quieter. Excellent menu, traditional food and a good selection of Ale's to whet you're tonsil's. Well worth dropping in if you are out that way. I'll be back.

My boyfriend and I went here on a whim on our way back from Argos and we weren't disappointed. Really lovely, homely pub food that I would definitely go back for.

Thank you Hope Pole for a fabulous Sunday lunch today - a party of 20 - all sat outside in the sun - top quality food from the clearly experienced kitchen team - and excellent and accommodating service - we live in Bath and this is certainly now on our favourites list.

They are all very talented, ambitious and as you can tell, work extremely well together. The service is always important to us, too. You were served by the new Bath Ales Relief Manager called James,... More

A really nice Bath Ales pub located on the edge of the City of Bath, opposite Victoria Park. Well worth the walk from town - parking nearby can be more challenging! Have visited on a number of occaisions. The inside of the main pub isn't huge (although it does have a dining room in the former skittles alley at the... More

Went here with the dog. We had great Bath Ales beer and cider. Lovely burgers, nice pub menu. Overall staff were friendly, one member of bar staff a little bit full of self importance - but overall a great experience and we have been back.

Many thanks for leaving this review for us - we're pleased you (and the pooch!) enjoyed your time with us. I am sorry that one member of staff came across as "a little bit full of self importance" though. Having become regular visitors to Bath, we decided to go back to The Hop Pole for lunch. It was a hot and noisy day in Bath, but peaceful and cool in The Hop Pole. Regularly go to this pub for drinks and food and would normally highly recommend. Many thanks for leaving this review.
