The Hop Pole is a comfortable, spacious and friendly pub serving good food and top-notch beer. During summer months and periods of fine weather, the garden comes into its own and is the perfect place for mellow afternoon quaffing.Situated opposite Victoria Park, The Hop Pole is welcoming to all, including well-behaved children and dogs alike. Visited with friends on a Saturday evening. Cosy warm atmosphere with very friendly and helpful staff. Had the chicken pie which was just what is needed on a cold and wet evening in February. It was delicious. Also had the best chips ever! My friend ordered the rhubarb fool for pudding which was also delicious and a fantastic colour. Had... More

Went this afternoon and had the roast beef. Plenty of roast potatoes, but everything else was a bit sparse, three bits of parsnip and a spoonful each of kale and what I believe was swede. No carrots, peas etc and the gravy was thin on the ground. It was tasty though! Dessert was nice.

Came here on a Sunday for a roast. It wasn't an award winning roast and for the price, could have been better, but overall was tasty,

We were only in Bath for 3 nights. On the 2nd night, we found this gem of a restaurant. So great the first night, we went back again on our final night. The food came out hot, portions were great, and the service, including the two guys behind the bar and our waitress, were friendly and welcoming. They even remembered... More

Very good quality food, and the price was reasonable for the quality. Very generous portions. Very good friendly service. The food arrived promptly. A nice friendly atmosphere in the pub, and a good selection of local beers. Definitely recommended.

We came as a group of 16 to the Hop Pole for our Christmas dinner, and we were not disappointed! The food was excellent, exceeding all of my expectations. The starters were well presented, everyone enjoyed them, especially my goats cheese tart. The turkey dinner was top notch, probably one of the best I've ever eaten out at a restaurant.... More

We chose The Hop Pole for our annual pre-Christmas get together with friends, 11 of us altogether. The festive menu had a good choice and very good value for money. The atmosphere was good. Our only criticism was the length of time we had to wait between courses. On the plus side was that when each course arrived 11 plates... More

Visited this lovely pub on Friday evening. The front of the pub was very busy but we were served quickly and then taken through to the restaurant to eat. The selection of food on offer was good and all at reasonable prices. I choose the prawns to start and duck as a main. My partner chose the muscles and steak.... More
