Great atmosphere and excellent food!

Our B&B thought we might like The Hop Pole and they were right! Only five minutes on the bus (you don't know how lucky you are in Bath!) Mum and I rocked up for our table reserved in the bar. The place was heaving with several big groups and I was worried about noise but Mark (who came and... read more

The pub is easy to find, being on the Upper Bristol Road just opposite Royal Victoria Park and on the main bus routes from Bristol. It has a lovely garden and is well kept inside. My wife and I went there to eat one early evening midweek on a beautiful day when most people were in the garden and indoors... More

Visited with my husband on good Friday. Food was plentiful, delicious, served quickly. Helpful waitress. This place serves real ale, if that's your thing. Nice wines too. I had mushrooms and feta Wellington, yum, my husband had mussels. A really loved meal. Recommended. 😊

We visited here (Sat 14th March) as we were staying at the hotel over the road. The pub is under new management, who had just started that week, and they were keen to make us feel very welcome. The warm and friendly service we received was excellent. We ordered meals from the new menu which were a good size and... More

The Hop Pole has a traditional pub atmosphere. The food is delicious, there are Bath beers to try and service was prompt.

We went to The Hop Pole following the reviews on here but we were very disappointed. We had a 35 minute wait for the Roast beef to be served. After 30 minutes I looked for someone to ask what had happened to our food and down near the kitchen asked a waitress and they said were we not advised before... More

I'm very sorry to read of your disappointing visit with us on your Sunday lunch. After having spoken to my team, they do feel a little aggrieved as they believe all walk-in diners were warned of a wait time for their food due to the extensive amount of bookings and food already on order at the peak time during a... Visited The Hop Pole last Saturday whilst away in Bath. We did originally sit in the pub area but moved downstairs to the restaurant area which was very nice and cosy. We had a nice Chicken Pie each and ordered a couple of extra sides;onion rings and the braised vegetables. My only comment would be is that the pie could... More
