Good Sunday Grub

On a stop over in Bath this pub was just over the way from my hotel. Popped in for a dinner and as it was Sunday they had roast on. I am GF but they presented a wonderful pork diiner at a very reasonable price. Crackling perfect a loads of veg. Great cider as well. Nice place would go again!

I have been going to The Hop Pole for 2 years for a couple of lunchtime pints at the weekend, but prices have crept up with alarming regularity. On Saturday I was charged £6.30 for one pint of lager and a bag of pork scratchings. With those kind of extortionate prices they clearly want to clear the pub of punters... More

This feels like a traditional English pub with many varieties of ales. The Sunday Roast Dinner was delicious. The wait staff was superb.

Went to the Hop Pole to meet a long-standing friend for a meal and a drink. It was the end of a long and hard day and I was late and cross. But the attentive courtesy of the staff, the efficiency of the service, the quality of the meal and the beer turned it into a delightful evening. It won't... More

I have eaten the lemon Gnocchi in here 3 times now and the first time it was incredible, a good sized filling portion and full of flavour the second time the dish was lacking in gnocchi and I was slightly hungry and this time- on Monday 8th and ordered the same, however when it came it was much smaller, hardly... Thank you for letting us know about your visits, Rosalee. I can only extend my apologies that the consistency - something for which we are always striving and aiming for - has been missing. I can understand that you were in a hurry and couldn't grab a member of staff, but if there's every anything wrong with a dish, we... More

Every time we visit the standard remains constant. Great food and ambience with well trained staff who look after your every whim. The ales are breathtaking and well looked after. My wife had the pie of slow cooked beef with cep mushrooms, she loved it. There was some confusion over the green vegetable order and that was rectified immediately, well... More

Nice atmosphere, good pub with a little extra. Prices are also slightly higher but excellent beer, great cider, food and ambience make up for it. The pub was a bit noisy but we didnt mind. There are plenty of other seats in the back (or garden) for people who do. Foodwise; it was a bit of a wait. My partner... More

I'm glad you enjoyed your food but can only apologise it wasn't in the timely manner you would have liked. We cook all of our dishes from scratch with fresh ingredients, so they do take a little bit of time to prepare but I can only say sorry that it wasn't delivered in a satisfactory amount of time. The facade may not have much «curb appeal» but the minute you go in you get the feel of a nice little pub. There is a separate dining area at the back, down a few steps; it is cozy, airy, with a view of a nice terrace. The staff was friendly, patient and helpful in selecting beer and cider to... More
