Very average, slightly pricey

The actual piece of cod was OK, and the 3 stars are only for the fish. The sides were horrible. The chips were bland, and of bad consistency. The mushy peas had a nasty colour, smell and taste. The price was not really a bargain. Service was effective, but a bit stand off-ish.

This is a consistently good F&C restaurant. Fish batter is crisp and tasty. The Chips are cooked just as I like them. It may not use beef dripping (the best frying oil) but the flavour is still very good.

I recently ordered 2 Jumbo Haddock and 2 large portions of chips to take away. This cost me £16.20. The Jumbo Haddock cost £5.60 each, as you will see by the picture attached these were disappointingly small at around 7.5 and 8 inches long and not very thick either. I phoned the shop to tell them of my disappointment and... More

Visiting baths wonderful Christmas market for a couple of days with my wife, we stumbled across seafoods and grabbed a quick bag of chips. The chips were so delicious we decided to go for lunch the following day and so glad we did. Staff were brilliant and friendly although rushed off there feet they smiled and were helpful. Visited this resturant at its busiest time last week during Bath Christmas markets. The staff were quick, efficient and polite. Food freshly cooked and a good portion. Will be on my list of things to do again next time I visit Bath.

Chips cooked to perfection. Not greasy or over done. A good manageable size portion. Fish was cooked to order, with a crisp, not too thick batter. The best part however was the pea fritter! It was enormous!( I'm not sure they are normally that big). A light, non greasy batter and the mushy peas tasted as good as my nan's(&... More

Back to birth city again to my favourite chippie..... The staff informed me that it's been awarded 'Best fish & chips' in Bath. I agree 100%. Definitely worth going out of the way for. I really don't understand where any negative reviews come from, I've only ever been served great food by friendly, courteous staff. I'll be back again in... More

Visited here expecting to have the Best Fish and Chips in Bath, if this is it then I wouldn't like to visit the second or third let alone the worst! We ordered haddock and chips, tea and a Pepsi. We sat downstairs at a table that looked clean but was tacky to touch. When the can of Pepsi was brought... More

Visited here for a takeaway this evening, food was awful and staff were rude not only to me but other customers too! Disgusting, they need a lesson in customer service. Wouldn't feed the food to a dog! Will never visit again. BOA fish and chip shop is so superior of this one.
