It's an odd set up. First, you walk down two flights of stairs to a small underground bar area where you are greeted by the staff. We were seated in the bar for 10 minutes along with the other customers and presented with menus. Then we were taken to a table in a narrow, windowless room. The decor is a... More

For all its accolades, posted about the walls, Rajpoot Tandoori Indian Restaurant failed to make a good first impression. Upon our entering, the staff we met were surly to the point of being rude. We almost got up and left as we were made to feel wholly unwelcome. After a while, however, another member of staff turned up and he... More

I have visited the Rajpoot consistently over 12 years. The food and the environment used to be fantastic. I have been back on a few occasions hoping that the food would equal the standards I have come to expect. Unfortunately the Rajpoot fails to deliver on all counts. Dishes that used to be sensational lack the taste, spice and delicate... More

Best Indian food I have eaten. The staff were very nice. The service was somewhat slow however. I will definitely return. Good value for money. I would highly recommend.

Made a lunch time visit. Food, when it arrived, was quite tasty but service was slow bearing in mind there was only one other table occupied. Food was served on cold plates and was a tad on the dear side.

the service is outstanding and the staff is nice. The food is well cooked. If you understand the difficulties to get the ingredients so far away from India, it is an excellent result. For me it was little bit over-englished. The setting in the basement was a little bit stuffy. If you like 1001 night stage settings, it was probably... More

The restaurant is situated down 2 flights of stairs which is quite unique. The food we had was served quickly and was of excellent standard. Would recommend.

This is an established Indian Restaurant in central Bath. The food is quite good and the service attentive. It is down in the cellars though so a bit dark and dingy. But my main gripe is the awful smell as you walk downstairs. I am not sure if it was the toilet, drains or carpet pr all three. I found... More

From the publicity & awards we'd expected an interesting menu, superbly cooked food and fresh decor. The Rajpoot disappointed on all these. Tired environment, tired food. It was like being back 30 years to how Indian restaurants were before they improved. Bath has many excellent restaurants, this isn't among them. Go elsewhere!
