As you would expect

As you would expect, the staff were welcoming friendly and attentive. The restaurant is situated in what I guess was an old cellar which makes for an interesting atmosphere. The menu is quiet comprehensive with a few house specialities. We both enjoyed our meals and would probably return, but as... read more

It's a bit wierd when you walk downstairs into the bar area and there are more staff than customers. The staff were all very friendly and polite, sadly the food didn't really live up to expectations, didn't have much flavour and the rice was overcooked. It wasn't awful but I wouldn't go back.

I had a lovely meal here with my partner during a short break in Bath. The restaurant is uniquely decorated with a cosy feel. The service is very efficient and the food was delicious. We would definitely eat here again.

Great Indian food and great portions. Very tasty and aromatic. Lots of dishes to choose from. Quirky venue and very friendly helpful staff.

I've read the negative reviews and I think reviewers can be a little over cruel in their assessments. Firstly, don't come here for the look, it's very kitsch 80s Anglo Indian; for me, it's so bad its good. You'll either love the over the top Maharaja bling, or you'll not. The food was standard UK Indian food made for a... More

It was fantastic! Very polite service, food was tasty and well presented. I loved the ambience, the decor, the authentic Indian flavours, cooked with passion. I strongly recommend it. If you are not familiar with Indian food, the staff is more than happy to recommend and suggest. You can ask the chef for something mild or differently cooked, they really... More

Felt like entered into a world of dream. Felt like we were invited guests starting from doorman's greetings to the farewell smiles of the staff members. The decorations all around, Indian classical notes and shade&light mystery put us in a romantic mood, which aroused our appetite (merely for food or for life as well, what do you think, Emily?). We... More

Having visited the Ragpoot years ago a trip down memory lane was in order. What a let down,we were bundled into a corridor much like a working man's cafe. The decor was poor with patches of plaster and paper either missing or hanging loose. The food was badly presented, nothing special. The Ragpoot is living on past glories,if you want an Indian in Bath avoid... Ate here on Tuesday evening, dined in the "cavern" part of the restaurant. The food was lovely and the service was good, however during our stay we noticed that the upholstery was stained and there were food splashes on the wall. When we stood up to leave we could see how disgusting both bench seats were. The Managers response to... More
