Cycling from Bath to Chippenham, I came across this moored barge (beside the bridge) and had the 'should I shouldn't I' moment that something different provides. The should I decision was rewarded with a toasted tea cake that the young lady must have sprinted with to get to me 'just off the grill' hot and well toasted as they should... More

A regular stop for myself and my wife when cycling the Kennet and Avon canal path and we recommend it to anyone. Henny's strawberry gateaux is the best ever and she doesn't stint on the portions. The coffee is excellent too. What with the unique setting it's well worth a stop.

This is a fantastic little cafe. As the name suggests, it is a barge moored on the side of the canal. The staff are always ever so friendly and welcoming. The cakes are to die for: the owner makes them early every morning. Just an idylic spot with perfect cake. It is worth the walk from Bath along the canal... More

Picteresque location. Owner is very friendly and efficient. Coffee was lovely and the toasted tea cake perfect. (They do paninis and there was a good cake selection also). I would highly recommend.

We stopped here today while walking the towpath to Bath and we were so glad we did. Great coffee, amazing cakes and wonderfully friendly service, all on a canal barge! I had a cappuccino which was lovely (and I'm fussy about my coffee!) and we shared the cream sponge and the choc cake, both were incredible! Will definitely be back... More

You'll never experience a better cup of tea, coffee, cold drink, Mary-Berry-beating cake, or delicioiusly-filled panini on any kind of boat in this world or the next. Cafe on the Barge is unique in its welcome, its surroundings, its charm and its wonderful proprietor, Heni. Go there, whether the sun is shining or the heavens have opened. Everything about the... Fantastic coffee in an amazing location. I am not going to say please go there, as it is popular enough and the size is limited.

There can be few more diverting ways to pass an hour than sitting by Bathampton Bridge in brilliant sunshine reading the paper whilst drinking coffee. By sheer serendipity I chanced on this lovelty coffee barge whilst waiting to watch rugby on the local playing fields. I had an hour to kill and elected to have a quick walk around the... More
