Quirky, odd but outstanding food

The Allium is consistently a high performer in Bath and and given the large number of places here for foodies that is quite an accolade. We had not been to been to Allium since it had been refurbished and we really liked the change of decor, in fact the whole of the ground floor of the hotel looks great. We really enjoyed our lunch, the new broader menu certainly has something for everyone, although we actually opted for the short set menu. The combination of... More

We know this restaurant well and following their recent revamp of the dining room and lounge, were anxious to see if the food quality and table service were as good a before. The 'new look' is a big improvement with elaborate drapes that provide more privacy in the two small dining areas. The menu lacks some of the previous inspiration... More

Had a lovely lunch here about 6 months after it opened. Recently went with friends for dinner and it has been re-decorated, table cloths removed and menu altered. It was a Saturday and clearly busy, however waiting to be seated for our first course for just over an hour and then waiting again for 30/40 minutes before the main course... More

Booked for my daughters hen do 16 of us. We had a room to ourselves. Food was lovely and lots of it. A large choice of tea and champagne as an extra for those who wanted it. A little pricey but the service and decoration was superb and loved the trees the afternoon tea was hung on.

Stumbled into Allium when in Bath as a part of a tour group. I was really pleasantly surprised. Our waiter was very friendly and engaging. The decor was bright and colourful and there were interesting pieces of art displayed. However, the real pleasure was the sunday lunch. I had the roast pork and my friend the beef. It was really... Love the friendly service here. Had wine by the glass which was as good as always as was the food with no faults. The wine list here is impressive. The desserts here are lovely and not to be missed, I cannot resist in having two desserts (nickname Danny two puds).

As this was a restaurant in a hotel, we didn't expect much but were amazed by the food and enjoyed every course. Service excellent, cuisine sublime, many thanks.

My husband booked a surprise dinner for us and it was one of the best meals I've ever had! The Japanese inspired salmon dish was incredible, I had to call the chef out to praise him directly!
