Excellent food, tasty, pure Portuguese cousin at its best. Defenetly a place to stop and enjoy good food, big range from sea food to meat. Forget all the food you have ever eaten...this is the place ;)

We had selected Portvcale as our destination after biking the Bristol to Bath cycle trail and were very pleased with our choice. Truly family -un, we found a cuisine refreshingly different from what England often has to offer. We ordered 6 small dishes between the two of us, having arrived just half and hour before lunch service stops at 3pm... More

We've eaten here several times and the food is good home cooking and that's all it is really with presentation being a little lacking. Their credit card machine and coffee machine which weren't working the last time we visited still weren't working and really these are things that are urgent. And to run out of red wine! Service is very... More

I have stayed on and off in Bath since May 2011 for 2-3 nights per week on most weeks, and this place is one of my favourites. As i am away from home so often (abroad mostly) one of my pleasures is to check out new places. I have eaten in over 60 restaurants in Bath and I really like... More

We ate with some friends in the evening when this former cafe/bar tries to be a restaurant. The seating is comfortable but the decor and table tops are well worn. We have travelled in Portugal and know the cuisine fairly well. The usual favourites were there (but no octopus or squid), for example two salt cod dishes, clams and pork... More

Ate there last night. The octupus was off, the credit card machine was broken, as was the coffee machine, and there was no vanilla ice cream. However, none of that mattered. A very friendly welcome and attentive staff. Good food very reasonably priced and lovely atmosphere. Definitely not pretentious. Will return. Sangria is to die for

Had a lovely meal here, the food is slightly different to the usual Tapas fare, with amazing Octopus and Clams. Great seafood! The service was friendly even though we were in a big group that arrived really late as well...

When the food and service is as good as this you really just want the restaurant to get patronage, this family run business serves great food friendly atmosphere and a welcoming reception well worth a visit and let them guide you, you won't be disappointed..
