Consistently good

I often come into bath but whenever I come with out of towners I always eat at Sam's. It's really reasonable, lovely meat and cheese boards, salads are really great, staff really friendly. I really like the fact that each visit is good which is quite rare to get consistency.

Visited SAMs kitchen again in Holt today. Nice food and atmosphere but the portions are getting smaller and smaller. Any smaller it will be just a couple of lentils on the plate. Great shame as the menu has great promise but certainly not filling for a main course. Service is always very pleasant. Just would like to leave feeling I... More

Stumbled across this place and was invited in by a friendly barista. The place is tiny, maximum capacity of no more than 20 split across a large dining table, a leather sofa and a couple of smaller tables next to the window. The food is all vegetarian and cooked fresh on the day - from what I gather, no two... More

This place you need to see it to believe it, small (tiny ) but perfectly place for amazing get together with friends, often there is live music. The venue is for sharing tables, talking to strangers, sip wine & wish you never have to leave. The staff is fun, clever & very creative. The dishes are modern with a fresh... More

We had breakfast here on what was an all too brief visit to Bath. Choosing to sit outside on a sun blessed Saturday morning my wife and I both enjoyed a very good bowl of porridge topped with apricot compote and me a good americano and my better half a refreshing mint tea. The counter was an array of very... More

Not on the mainstream tourist trails, this independent restaurant has a relaxed style and serves locally-sourced food that is well cooked and presented. Walcot street has lots of character and Sam's Kitchen adds to that.

Last Thursday a group of women friends met for our quarterly lunch in Bath. There were 9 of us and Sam's kitchen did everything they could to accommodate us as they are too small to take bookings. The sun shone and they put a table outside for us. There is a good choice of food - regular items and daily... More

Had an amazing sausage roll with side salads and lentils. It was truly beautiful and not like any sausage roll I've ever had! I love how fresh and tasty everything I tried was. It was truly a delight to eat here. It was quite cramped seating but was fine for a quick lunch.

Despite living in Bath a while now, I only visited this place for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I can tell you Sam's kitchen, that based on this visit alone, you've gained a new regular customer. Everything was flawless; the look and feel of the place is quirky without being too try-hard, the music playing in... More

Occasionally writing reviews on Trip Advisor I normally follow the principle of not writing negatively, preferring to voice concerns direct. This trade is hard enough without unnecessary negativity. But this time I think I want to raise a concern about Sam's Kitchen. This is an attractive looking place with, at first sight, friendly staff and food that looks great. But... More

Hi David, Thank you for taking the time to write a message to us. I welcome any feedback, positive or negative; it's the only way that we can grow. Regardless of having friends, i do, of course mind that you haven't been satisfied with my place and it really does matter to me! I couldn't agree with you more about... More
