Description: Roughly translated from Sardinian, Ai means come and join us, its an appropriate title for one of Baths most welcoming restaurants. Currently the only restaurant in the South West specialising in Sardinian cuisine, Ai, on George Street close to the Assembly Rooms and The Circus is a unique dining proposition, providing Baths gastronomes with an opportunity to step outside of the Italian comfort zone. A modern interior inspired by the warm tones and natural materials of a traditional trattoria leads through to a suntrap courtyard just made for enjoying Ais summery cuisine. Head chef Roberto Lilliu puts years of experience working in Mediterranean kitchens to use here, with the menu full of the warm flavours of Southern Europe.

Don't get your hopes up too high! I quite enjoyed it . Went with daughter to drop off at Uni. Service is disjointed and the food is not flashy but it has an authentic relaxed Italian atmosphere , the staff will not rush you and therefore allow time for your meal. Pasta is al dente, as it is in Italy... More

We discovered this little place on George Street when we were looking for an afternoon glass of wine. We found their menu interesting and returned later for dinner. We have found ourselves coming back to Aio several times. Good food, good wine, interesting specials, nice people. It quickly became one of our "go to" places in Bath.

The menu was interesting and the food nicely prepared. I thought that it was a little expensive for what was offered.

For some reason people in Bath (hoteliers and taxi drivers) seem less enthusiastic about this restaurant than they should be. I've had worse ones recommended and this one people acting as if they want to say "good luck". Well 6 of us that ate here this week loved it. We all ate something different, the fish, the rabbit the chicken... More

Nice to find somewhere a bit different. The Sardinian flatbreads were a great starter. We asked for one of the vegetarian pasta starters to be served as a main, & it was delicious. Unfortunately, it was rather quiet but it was a Monday lunchtime!

Really enjoyed our meal at this delightful restaurant. The staff, the maitre d' and especially our waitress were helpful and fun. We asked to sit outside which was fine although we were the only people doing so. Food was terrific, we shared starters with the beef carpaccio really good, not the usual, Somerset beef finely sliced. All four mains were... More

From an hour or so spent on the terrace, it's clear that this restaurant suffers from its position on the 'upper' side of George Street, the 'lower' side seeing just about all the potential passing trade. There's varying degrees of 'excellent'. For different reasons, I've been awarding a lot of 'excellents' lately; perhaps some of them should have been a... More

I was there as part of a wedding party, one of 50 people. The food was good,it was buffet style, and I decent mixture of different dishes. Drinks were expensive, but they has some good choices of local beers. House wine went down a treat, but it was free! Service was ok, a little slow taking the tables away for the... More

This restaurant us quaint and practically located for walking distance from the centre, attractions and from the long stay car park. We read the reviews that rated it 4th on Trip Advisor and went for our 5th anniversary. The menu is very seafood heavy, with few Italian classics that you'd generally find in an Italian restaurant. We ordered the mussels... More
