Description: Roughly translated from Sardinian, Ai means come and join us...
Roughly translated from Sardinian, Ai means come and join us, its an appropriate title for one of Baths most welcoming restaurants. Currently the only restaurant in the South West specialising in Sardinian cuisine, Ai, on George Street close to the Assembly Rooms and The Circus is a unique dining proposition, providing Baths gastronomes with an opportunity to step outside of the Italian comfort zone. A modern interior inspired by the warm tones and natural materials of a traditional trattoria leads through to a suntrap courtyard just made for enjoying Ais summery cuisine. Head chef Roberto Lilliu puts years of experience working in Mediterranean kitchens to use here, with the menu full of the warm flavours of Southern Europe.

Delicious regional Italian

Great meal. Good flavours. Pleasantly surprising range of sublime fish dishes. Perfect pasta – try the malloredus. The Sardinian wine is excellent, but they do also offer wine from other regions. Price level in the medium range for Bath, quality in the really good range. Service impeccable. Only... read more

Visited as a group of 18 females for a hen do and had to pay a £10 deposit each and choose out meals in advance. Despite them having our order we arrived at 8pm and did not eat until 10pm disgustingly slow service with no apology. While the food was tasty it was miniature in size. The vegetarians in the... What to say, a good surprise finding this lovely regional restaurant in the center of Bath. We had our Lunch in the back yard, a lovely small terrace at the back of the property, it was a sunny day that made a real difference. The owners very kind and informative , we had a lovely lunch indeed! Try the Vermentino... More

Our waiter was lovely and informative, we thought we were in for a treat. Turns out, when passing the kitchen to go to the toilet the chef was tucking into the food he was dishing up! With his fingers! I mentioned this to the manager expecting an apology but I got shrugged off by him saying 'oh right'. The bill... More

We were looking for some good food and better than average wine for dinner. Walking down George Street this just felt right, so in we went without reading any reviews. The welcome was relaxed and we went from having a drink to sitting down for dinner quite easily. Perfect wine recommendations to suit the food, mainly Sardinian inspired, left us... More

Spent Saturday afternoon at the restaurant and the food was simply superb as was the wine. The staff were attentive and took the time to talk to us which especially nice as my wife's father originates from Sardinia. Just a wonderful way to spend the day and would highly recommend it to everyone

I visited AIO with a friend who lives nearby on a busy Saturday evening. I found the food superb, a real taste of Italy. Music bread and olives that wetted your appetite. Broccoli soup with a hint of chili. Ricotta and Spinach Ravioli, always a classic combination but probably the best I have had in this country. A Coffee Brulee... More
