Description: Roughly translated from Sardinian, Ai means come and join us, its an appropriate title for one of Baths most welcoming restaurants. Currently the only restaurant in the South West specialising in Sardinian cuisine, Ai, on George Street close to the Assembly Rooms and The Circus is a unique dining proposition, providing Baths gastronomes with an opportunity to step outside of the Italian comfort zone. A modern interior inspired by the warm tones and natural materials of a traditional trattoria leads through to a suntrap courtyard just made for enjoying Ais summery cuisine. Head chef Roberto Lilliu puts years of experience working in Mediterranean kitchens to use here, with the menu full of the warm flavours of Southern Europe.

We ordered the antipasta platter to share which came with a good quality cured meat selection. There were a reasonable choice of specials available as both starters and main. The fish was excellent and my wife's steak main was cooked perfectly. We opted to share the pannacotta which tasted amazing and a refreshing end to the meal. Would definitely visit... More

Terrible service and mediocre food. The worst vinegar served as over priced wine. Frankly there are better ways to spend your money. My advice is give it a miss.

Dear Mr pippiphooray, thank you for your kind remarks. I am glad you took the time to register to tripadvisor especially for this review. Your insights are most useful in helping us improve our customer service. However, I do wish you pointed out your discontent with the wine at the table at least I could have addressed the issue personally... More

Came here on a Sunday night. Quite busy but a nice atmosphere. Enjoyed a free glass of Prossecco thanks to our Bath discount card. Good service throughout the night, even ordered a taxi for us (although did tell us it had arrived when it hadn't!) Food was of good standard. My main course was actually not what i ordered but... Visited Aio this weekend for an evening meal. The menu is excellent with lots of authentic Italian dishes to choose from and a great selection of sea food. We were asked for our order barely a couple of minutes after being seated having not had a chance to properly look at the menu. When we ordered drinks we also asked... More

Returning to Aio with a little trepidation. I had loved the food last time but not been too complementary on Trip Advisor about their lack of knowledge of ingredients in dishes as I have a nut allergy, but so pleased to report back..... Fantastic knowledge by our young waiter. He could tell me what was in food, what to avoid,... More

We ate at Aio on a recent trip to Bath. As with all the restaurants on that block it was below ground. Very pleasant inside BUT it was roasting hot with no air flow. The food was very good, but due to the unbearable heat (it had been a warm day anyway) we didn't enjoy it as much as we... More

Went to this restaurant a few weeks ago with some friends. Not impressed. I had soup to start, tasted good but not the largest bowl in the world it didn't even come with bread. Main course was ravioli (fairly dry & tasteless), 7 pieces on a large plate, a single sprig of garnish & that's 'yer' lot! At this point... More

Interesting menu in a very pleasing, stylish setting very centrally situated. Service was brisk and efficient. Food had good bright flavours and the wine list had a number of interesting Sardinian wines. Many wines available by glass and 500ml carafe. I will definitely be back, perhaps to try the suckling pig..... My only complaint was the number of bones in a... More
