Description: Roughly translated from Sardinian, Ai means come and join us, its an appropriate title for one of Baths most welcoming restaurants. Currently the only restaurant in the South West specialising in Sardinian cuisine, Ai, on George Street close to the Assembly Rooms and The Circus is a unique dining proposition, providing Baths gastronomes with an opportunity to step outside of the Italian comfort zone. A modern interior inspired by the warm tones and natural materials of a traditional trattoria leads through to a suntrap courtyard just made for enjoying Ais summery cuisine. Head chef Roberto Lilliu puts years of experience working in Mediterranean kitchens to use here, with the menu full of the warm flavours of Southern Europe.

A small but well appointed restaurant in the heart of Bath with friendly service and excellent food - Italian with a twist. Fresh fish a speciality. One of the best meals I have had in a long time with even the chef appearing at the end to thank us for choosing his restaurant - what a joy. Prices were average... More

We were staying nearby and this was our first night so decided to dine locally and go “off piste” somewhat as I had not picked this restaurant up in my pre-trip research. It was quite busy and as there are quite a few other restaurants nearby this was a good sign. We were politely shown to a table in the... More

I was impressed by the welcome we received by the owner and friendly attention by the waiter. Excellent calamari as a starter followed by the best stuffed pepper I have tasted, accompanied by a very good Rioja. I have already recommended the restaurant to several friends.

I liked the look of the menu, 'Suckling Pig' so was tempted to go in. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A starter of grilled Squid was well received, very tasty with its accompanying salad. The Suckling Pig was tender with a crispy skin and came with roast potatoes and various strips of raw vegetables [lightly pickled]. There was... More

On a visit to Bath Christmas Market, we were looking for somewhere to eat and stumbled upon the Aio. What a find. There was a warm welcome, and the waiters were so attentive and very helpful. Good menu, I had the Ravioli, it was delicious no complaints. This restaurant is well worth a visit when in Bath, in fact forget... More

Enjoyable meal, fresh fish and seafood imaginatively cooked and presented. Attentive staff, lively atmosphere. Little expensive but generous portions. Fish cooked as we requested without salt but well flavoured with garlic chilli and paprika. Would recommend and go again.

I moved to Bath earlier this year and had been looking forward to visiting Aio for as long as I knew it was nearby. My girlfriend and I spent a wonderful summer holiday in Sardinia, and the food was a real highlight, so to combine this with a night out in our new home was great. The atmosphere was relaxed...
