Description: Roughly translated from Sardinian, Ai means come and join us...
Roughly translated from Sardinian, Ai means come and join us, its an appropriate title for one of Baths most welcoming restaurants. Currently the only restaurant in the South West specialising in Sardinian cuisine, Ai, on George Street close to the Assembly Rooms and The Circus is a unique dining proposition, providing Baths gastronomes with an opportunity to step outside of the Italian comfort zone. A modern interior inspired by the warm tones and natural materials of a traditional trattoria leads through to a suntrap courtyard just made for enjoying Ais summery cuisine. Head chef Roberto Lilliu puts years of experience working in Mediterranean kitchens to use here, with the menu full of the warm flavours of Southern Europe.

Beautiful food and great service

My partner and I enjoyed a beautiful meal here on Valentine's Day. The food was lovely and the service friendly and welcoming. It's a popular restaurant and it's easy to see why. It's a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.

I am usually very critical in eating out as I cook very well myself but after my visit to AIO i had to schedule some time and write a review for this restaurant. We visited the place on a Thursday night around 22:20. They were kind enough to let us dine even though it seemed like they were about to... More

We had a pretty expensive lunch here because we liked the look of it from the outside. The food was OK, but nothing hugely special. No better than standard high street Italian chains. Wouldn't bother going again, we've had much better elsewhere for less!

We went to Aio on a Sat before Easter and got a very nice table. The service is very friendly, and both of us enjoyed the food very much. Good to see that the menu is a bit different from other Italian places you might have been to.

We like to experiment so gave it a go. On the night we visited we suspect the usual chef was not around given the hiatus that seemed to be occurring in the kitchen. The hake "special" was judged tasteless. The hare dish was given a thumbs up. The fritto vegetables had been cooked in oil that was not hot enough... More

Eaten here twice, very good on both occasions. Very relaxing atmosphere and staff, with professional service. Small, but plenty of space around the table, I particularly liked the swordfish refreshing simple flavors made with fresh and quality ingredients. If you enjoy traditional Sardinian cuisine this is place to go in bath. Good food and relatively inexpensive!

We ate at Aio Sardinia (my second visit) on a very busy Saturday night and were hugely impressed. The cuisine was authentic Sardinian, superbly cooked - especially recommend the fish, and includes some wonderful Sardinian specialities such as the delicious flatbread. The short but very well chosen wine list includes four or five Sardinian classics. Service was perfect despite the... More

...... we came across this gem. We had looked at tapas. steak places, pizza joints, and a couple of pubs.Nothing appealed - till we got here. They were full in the front of the restaurant, and we got shown into the extremely quiet back room, but we persevered, and chose a delightful bottle of Amarone - the first of 2... More

Came upon this restaurant by accident, but it turned out to be a real find! The menu was so good that it was difficult to choose one meal, so I will have to return! All the food that I had was delicious, and the service was attentive. The early evening deal is good value.
