Description: Roughly translated from Sardinian, Ai means come and join us...
Roughly translated from Sardinian, Ai means come and join us, its an appropriate title for one of Baths most welcoming restaurants. Currently the only restaurant in the South West specialising in Sardinian cuisine, Ai, on George Street close to the Assembly Rooms and The Circus is a unique dining proposition, providing Baths gastronomes with an opportunity to step outside of the Italian comfort zone. A modern interior inspired by the warm tones and natural materials of a traditional trattoria leads through to a suntrap courtyard just made for enjoying Ais summery cuisine. Head chef Roberto Lilliu puts years of experience working in Mediterranean kitchens to use here, with the menu full of the warm flavours of Southern Europe.

Authentic Sardinia in Bath from superb local ingredients

We ate at Aio Sardinia (my second visit) on a very busy Saturday night and were hugely impressed. The cuisine was authentic Sardinian, superbly cooked - especially recommend the fish, and includes some wonderful Sardinian specialities such as the delicious flatbread. ...... we came across this gem. We had looked at tapas. steak places, pizza joints, and a couple of pubs.Nothing appealed - till we got here. They were full in the front of the restaurant, and we got shown into the extremely quiet back room, but we persevered, and chose a delightful bottle of Amarone - the first of 2... More

Came upon this restaurant by accident, but it turned out to be a real find! The menu was so good that it was difficult to choose one meal, so I will have to return! All the food that I had was delicious, and the service was attentive. The early evening deal is good value.

My wife booked this as a surprise birthday meal for me with friends in mid January. The experience was disappointing. The food was quite average, relatively small portions - although my wife's fish was nice to be fair. The restaurant is small, more like a bistro and a bit tired. The impression was not helped by what appeared to be... More

Wonderful food, well priced and great service. So often we all go out and think "I will try that one.." Well this one is very much worth it, so don't walk past and think hmmm, nope go in and be surprised by the good staff that are not pushy at all, we took over 2 hours for lunch on a... More

Had dinner here this week, and it was just delightful - the nibbles of flatbreads with rosemary and garlic and olives, seafood starter and main cooked just right and each served with complementary delicious salad and sauce/dressing that left my tastebuds tingling. The service was just right, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Will definitely go here again.

I was very happy to see a Sardinian Restaurant in Bath. I was recommended to visit this restaurant by a fellow Sardinian , waiter in another restaurant. Why do I listen to people? I was looking forward to a good meal. The owner of Aio seems like a really nice guy, good looking and friendly. I asked what he recommended... More

We were in Bath for a single night and found this lovely little restaurant from reviews on line. Spent a week in Sardinia last summer and the food here was really authentic. The shared antipasto was a delight - especially the pecorino cheese. Beautiful pink duck breast and no room for pudding! The manager/owner and waiter were very friendly and... More

Four of us had a delicious 3 course meal with drinks and a bottle of wine for 110 pounds. Everything freshly cooked. A friendly Italian family run restaurant.

A small but well appointed restaurant in the heart of Bath with friendly service and excellent food - Italian with a twist. Fresh fish a speciality. One of the best meals I have had in a long time with even the chef appearing at the end to thank us for choosing his restaurant - what a joy. Prices were average... More
