Might come off our Ale Trail.

A nice roomy pub with sports TV. Only had two ales on when we visited. Bellringer a common one in the area. We went for the Waddies...Copper Vice and it was not well kept. The service was a bit grumpy too.

I fell in love with the pies they serve, Bath's award winning Lovett pie. There is quite a lot of variety too: chicken, gammon and leek pie or spiced butternut squash pie (vegetarian). I heard that there is also a selection of burgers coming up: bagel with steak and cheddar cheese burger, chili beef burger with jalapenos peppers and cream... More

We have had nothing other than compliments about the Coopers Vice and we have sold 2 barrels in the last 5 days!! Perhaps your drinks came just as the last barrel was about to finish. Apologies about whomever served you, female or male they should not have conveyed a slightly grumpy demeanour! More

lots of tv screens showing all sorts of sports. The beer is good and quite a few to choose from. Staff seemed friendly and helpful, that's about as much as i can say really

you will need this as the likelihood of getting served within twenty minutes, even if you are the only person in the pub, are virtually NIL. The manager will sit and ignore you for as long as he can. The beer is overpriced and staff openly smoke/vape behind the bar whilst ignoring you.

Hello Tim from Bournemouth, the Assembly Inn is getting busier every month that I have been in charge. I apologise for the wait of over twenty minutes. Our pies are baked in an oven and this process takes about 20 minutes! That is if it was a pie that you ordered, we were so busy over the entire weekend with... More

We, unfortunately, were there the same day as the England/Australia match. We arrived early and were able to order food (well most of us) but he was some what disgruntled that 10 of us arrived and wanted to eat (how dare we bring him custom). The final member of my party arrived and was told she couldn't order food despite... More

Oh dear, but what a match! We went to the Assembly Inn Sports Bar to watch the England v Australia international. This was our first visit and we weren't sure what to expect. Kick off was at 14.30. We arrived at 13.15 hoping to enjoy a little lunch before the game. On arrival the pub was busy and the single... More

ENTITLED "Common sense these days? You just cant win can you" In response to the 'Take your own sandwiches' and 'Dont expect decent customer service' both written about the same day at the same time, just before England v Australia rugby. The Assembly Inn is a very popular rugby pub. We are and always expect to be packed out to... More

Perhaps it's an age thing, but every time we have visited this pub we find the music much too loud and intrusive. After just one drink we have to leave which is a shame as the beer is good and the menu, though basic pub grub, could be interesting. Maybe some ear plugs next time?!

Let down by lukewarm soft drinks and one rather grumpy member of bar staff. However saved vy other staff who were far more attentive and the food served was very good

Food looked good as well. The local Abbey beers were good and my US friend seemed to enjoy them. It was a lovely day so we spilled out onto the pavement. Nice.
