Easy going

Found this place on recommendation and it did the job well. Good staff who were also helpful. The food was enjoyable and 'mid-range' in terms of quality - not pretentious in any way.

I tried the pie of the day which was good because the pie crust was only on top with more meat and less crust. Had scallops for starters which was excellent but only three pieces :(

A smile a welcome and common courtesy are not difficult, but unfortunately these skills are not standard with the current bar and waiting staff, this is a great shame because when its not present then the food has to be realy good, fortunately it is getting better, unfortunately I have been visiting this restaurant frequently enough to notice just how... Best scallops ever. Sweet potato puree and black pudding tweel. Combinations that worked so well. I loved it. Thought it couldn't be topped, and it wasn't, but the Chicken in Mustard gave the scallops a run for their money. Best meal Ive had in a restaurant for quite some time and I am extremely fortunate to eat out regularly.

Our room was okay but we were really cold. We only had one lopsided electric heater in our room and it wasn't enough as the room wasn't double glazed? Maybe carpet would have helped? Bathroom was lovely and modern with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was very good as was the service. Thankyou

My husband and I had fantastic food and service at this gastro pub, the best I've had in a long while and we are quite fussy with our food. My husband had the steak which was perfectly cooked (he requested rare) and well seasoned. The sides were also incredibly tasty, I had more than my share of his sides! I... More
