The Salamander is great city-centre pub, 'The Sally' serves good food and a fine choice of beers from Bath Ales and beyond, and welcomes a friendly, eclectic audience. It's small, it's snug but it's oh so special! The Salamander is tucked neatly away just off Queen Square in the heart of the Georgian city of Bath. Historically a 'steak and chop house', it now consists of a wonderfully simple bar on the ground floor and an impressive dining room complete with galley kitchen upstairs.Using the finest produce from local suppliers, 'The Sally' is renowned for its imaginative and varied menu, available both downstairs in the bar and upstairs.

Good meal

We were very impressed with the excellent and friendly service in the upstairs dining area. Food was of high quality and portions were very generous. Slightly more expensive than some other pubs. Worth a visit.

Came with a large group of friends for a Saturday night out in Bath. We enjoyed several rounds of drinks, including some very interesting Zubrowka Bison Vodka! Service was excellent and the bar staff really looked after us.

Went here Saturday afternoon for a quiet beer. Good selection of different ales (mainly Bath Ales which I haven't had before) and average service from staff. Nice to find a corner.

I didn't sample the food at this Pub in the middle of Bath, but, the Real Ales I sampled were absolutely top notch. I called in a couple of times in mid-December '15 and both times the Pub was very busy with people having Food and Drinkers enjoying the pre-Xmas atmosphere. Friendly Bar staff, comfortable surroundings and Five different Real... More

With diminished dining options due to severely limited opening times in Bath city over the New Year, we were happy to catch this one on the 29th Dec, which looked like it could deliver...a smart pub downstairs & good looking modern dining room on level one seemed like a desirable destination for a good dinner. Mmmn...the single chef ( we... More

We have visited this Bath Ales house on numerous occasions and it is great for lunch or an evening drink, we have not been for dinner yet. Great beer and a selection of wines and spirits at reasonable prices.

Visited in December based on the recommendations on TA. The Bar downstairs was a little off putting but the restaurant is upstairs and very much quieter.
