The Salamander is great city-centre pub, 'The Sally' serves good food and a fine choice of beers from Bath Ales and beyond, and welcomes a friendly, eclectic audience. It's small, it's snug but it's oh so special! The Salamander is tucked neatly away just off Queen Square in the heart of the Georgian city of Bath. Historically a 'steak and chop house', it now consists of a wonderfully simple bar on the ground floor and an impressive dining room complete with galley kitchen upstairs.Using the finest produce from local suppliers, 'The Sally' is renowned for its imaginative and varied menu, available both downstairs in the bar and upstairs.

The Ales are awesome and have a great variety. I had their chicken pie and my wife and son had fish and chips. The food was very good and the service was fast.

As visitors to Bath we had not booked anywhere to eat. Came across The Salamander as a possible to try from another restaurant owner who could not fit us in. The food was great and we could see where it was sourced from the service was fantastic. What a pity we do not live nearer. Well done and thanks.

This is a decent enough pub with good service, but the food just left a lot to be desired. We order basic steaks, burgers and some appetisers and universally they were underwhelming (overcooked, too fatty, too much mayo, etc.). If the food can match the decor and service, this could be an amazing place.

The food was all very hearty (highly recommend the ribs!) but with a up market twist. Good atmosphere with friendly staff

A real favourite for me. Never eaten in site although the food does look lovely. Great choice of Bath ales and a relaxing environment. Will keep visiting.

Stopping in for a pint, to sample the local brew, the staff at The Salamander were accommodating our early arrival to the lunch hour. Located in the heart of the city, this pub drew us in from their window display and open view of the bar.

Popped into this pub for a brilliant meal of sausages and mash. It was fairly quiet when I came here for lunch but as I was leaving there were more people coming in. The Salamander has a good selection of traditional pub food and some nice local beer on tap such as the ones from Bath Ales. Definitely come and... More

Yum! Meat was falling of the bone... And the chips were sticky in lovely gravy get still crispy! Proper pub grab but better. Very good quality, I'd highly recommend this place. It was quiet when we went but this ideal. Bad man was extremely personable and very helpful. All in all a great experience!
