Hate to tell anyone about this as I want to keep it a secret

We were looking for a place to eat in Bath and stumbled upon this place. Nice quaint little pub, off the beaten path in Bath. Looked like a place the locals frequent. We got a table early, 6:20 pm. Ordered at the bar....food was delivered piping hot and quick! Our bar tender/waiter was very... read more

Called in here for a little rest on the walk around. Had a good selection of beers and people seemed to be enjoying a typical pub meal.

I have been meaning to write a review about Sam Wellers for ages. We have been coming here for years, the food is excellent, the Landlady & Landlord and all the staff are all very welcoming and very friendly. The food is always cooked to perfection and piping hot. My husband always has the same off the menu Steak with... More

Hadn't planned to go here, but it was raining and we just stumbled upon it. Kind of glad we did. Nothing fancy, just plain simple pub grub, well executed. And a decent sauvignon blanc by the glass (according to Mrs D, my other half)

We were looking for a pub to have an evening meal and stumbled across this pub. It was an old style pub, but the food was excellent, The bar staff were friendly and one particularly was very good at giving directions for customers. It does not have the ambience of some other pubs but was really good. Choice of food... More

Visited today for lunch. Typical pub fayre really. Food was pretty good. Service was excellent but the premises is very dated which is nice but it did feel a bit grubby. Sticky tables etc. Overall worth a visit if you are in Bath but don't expect bells and whistles.

We came across this pub by accident walking around bath. We all had a lovely bar snack. The barman/waiter who was on that day was very friendly and had time for a chat to all who came in which was a nice touch.

We stopped in for a quick bite close to closing time. The lady at the bar was friendly and never once rushed us. The cottage pie was delicious!

It was a relief to find this pub once we strayed from the trendy cafes by the baths. Our server was as charming as can be and we all enjoyed our generous portions of pasta, steak, sandwiches and fish and chips. We felt like we were in a proper pub rather than in a place built for tourists. Our service... More

My husband and I wanted a simple light meal and beer on a Saturday night and happened upon this place. We had walked around to a few other places, but they were very crowded and loud. The atmosphere in here was much more calm. We happened to find a small corner table by the bar and ordered the steak and... More
