Lunch time

We came across this pub by accident walking around bath. We all had a lovely bar snack. The barman/waiter who was on that day was very friendly and had time for a chat to all who came in which was a nice touch.

We stopped in for a quick bite close to closing time. The lady at the bar was friendly and never once rushed us. The cottage pie was delicious!

It was a relief to find this pub once we strayed from the trendy cafes by the baths. Our server was as charming as can be and we all enjoyed our generous portions of pasta, steak, sandwiches and fish and chips. We felt like we were in a proper pub rather than in a place built for tourists. Our service... More

My husband and I wanted a simple light meal and beer on a Saturday night and happened upon this place. We had walked around to a few other places, but they were very crowded and loud. The atmosphere in here was much more calm. We happened to find a small corner table by the bar and ordered the steak and... More

I didn't realise that everything closes so flippen early in June in England! We were trying to find a spot to have dinner at about 6pm and everything a part from Sam's was closed. I had the lamb shank (it was a special) and it was GLORIOUS!

I popped in here for bangers and mash with my Mum who had the fish and chips. Great meals all around and no complaints. The location is also very central and in the heart of Bath. I'd visit again if I am in town someday in future.

This pub is near the centre of town and is well worth a visit. Great meals.. we ate twice in 2 days lamb shanks, fish pie and bangers and mash. Food was great and I could get my favourite beer Doombar on tap. Music great and the owner friendly. Prices are reasonable compared to others around town. Well worth a... More

We were just walking past and decided to go into Sam Wellers and get something to eat. It's a cute little original english pub with wood panelling in places, crooked floor and odd furniture. it has a nice cosy atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was yummy and all the food that came out around us... More

Perfect pub food done to a high standard; friendly staff who were very accommodating of our large group and made no issue of us having a 4 month old baby there. A number of our party needed to leave early, and the staff got their meals ready very quickly as requested. Will definitely be visiting again!
