Whilst out on the town on a Saturday night, we popped in here for some food and a pint. This pub offers standard pub food at a reasonable price. All of our food was tasty - the portions were very generous too. We really enjoyed our meal and I would happily recommend this place to anyone looking for standard pub... More

We popped in for lunch yesterday. Hubby had a cooked meal but I felt a little unwell and asked for toast. No problem, no tutting because I didn't have a full meal. All tolled we were very happy with the food, the service and the price. Will definately be back.

Went there today for a Sunday lunch. Although we would order 7 portions of Sunday roast we had three eventually cause there wasn't enough available to serve. Personally no problem with that. Everything else we had was really tasty and carefully prepared and served in generous portions. The pub had the look and feel of a classic old pub as... More

We arrived in Bath and wanted a simple pub to get some dinner. We went to Sam Wellers based on the tripadvisor reviews. We were very happy. I had surf and turf, my son had the scampi and chips and my wife the bacon cheeseburger. She love the burger and I enjoyed my meal. The service was nice and friendly... More

Very good choice with excellent service in very comfortable surroundings. The roast lamb shank with minty gravy just fell of the bone it was so tender whilst the homemade faggots were a joy to see and a delight to eat. Good real-ales to compliment the meal.

Biggest juiciest most tasty gammon steak I ever had. Steak and ale pie was also good. Reasonable prices too. Nice atmosphere in the pub, not too loud. Some local people in there too, not just tourists. Service was pleasant and efficient.

My partner comes from Bath so when we visit, which is quite often, we always go here for food (the whitebait is the best I have ever tasted) and good beer/wine. Always very friendly staff too.

A brilliant place to eat on a cold December evening ( or any time I imagine ) . Service with a smile, very generous portions and tasty meals. Not too noisy as with some pubs but enough atmosphere to make it interesting.

Visited early evening with friends after the christmas market. Made very welcome, great pint of doom bar and a very good selection of wine. Food was promptly served and well cooked. I had belly pork and black pudding, my wife, lasagna, both excelent. Looking forward to our next visit

This is the perfect pub, great welcome from all staff, and we visited several times during our stay in Bath. Great food and service with a smile, so far I can recommend the New York chicken baguette for lunch, the lasagne and especially good are the steaks. And to cap it all it won't break the bank, very reasonably priced.... More
