Situated in a unique Grade II listed Georgian building in the heart of Bath, Gascoyne Place has enjoyed many awards and plaudits since opening in 1996. Five distinct spaces (from a traditional pub-like corner snug to elegant Georgian dining rooms) could be your setting in which to indulge in a modern British menu that only uses fresh ingredients, obtained through close links with local farms and fisheries. Located 20 metres from Bath's Theatre Royal, and overlooking Sawclose Piazza, Gascoyne Place suits pre or post theatre wining and dining marvellously, though not to be outdone, the restaurant hosts its own entertainment with live complimentary jazz sessions from 8.00 Every Sunday and live blues every Friday evening.

Fabulous cocktails and great atmosphere

The choice of cocktails here is lovely and team are really helpful, fun and attentive. The drinks were made beautifully with very fresh ingredients. It was a second vist and we will certainly go again on our next visit to Bath.

I came here for a Valentine's / Anniversary meal with my partner, as it had been highly recommended by many friends. On arrival, we were a little early, but will still given the option to have drinks at the bar or go straight to our table. Our waitress was a lovely young girl called EJ (guessing it is short for... We came in here without a reservation, they were able to seat us and we got a great table with views of outside and over looking the stairs. The food was delicious, my husband had steak I had the beef dish.... It was amazing! The staff were very friendly and attentive on what was a busy night. They had a... More

Dropped in Sunday evening after hearing live guitarist / vocalist. Just sat with a drink so can't comment on food but it looked good. Waitresses young. Totally missed two couples who came in, sat down and were totally ignored by inexperienced waitresses as they were busy clearing plates, so they left. Wine very expensive - small glass of Malbec over... More

We stumbled in here by chance. We were greeted very warmly and offered a drink and a choice of seating - opted for the cosy seat by the fire. The set menu offered a range of courses - as Londoners, we appreciated the excellent value of 3 courses for £19. The food was essentially faultless. Served and presented impeccably -... More

I recently held a birthday lunch here with 14 friends in one of the lovely private upstairs rooms Excellent! We ordered from the set lunch menu - terrific food, wide selection and very good value for money Ordered mostly house white and red wine which was great - good selection of ales as well Couldn't fault the service in either... My Mother and I had a lovely meal in the basement on Sunday eve. Jazz band at 8 made it all the more special. Food was excellent, service great until we'd eaten, then they seemed to forget about us! Apart from that though, wonderful evening, would highly recommend.

Attended this restaurant randomly whilst visiting bath. It was quiet in there and we were sat in front of a cosy little fire. The service was brilliant, literally couldn't fault anything. The food was good and enjoyed a nice glass of Prosecco. Enjoyable visit!

Came here today for a roast dinner. Friendly and prompt service. Only two offers of roast available - chicken or beef. Doesn't bother me as I would always have beef anyway. Nice and pink, good roasties and generally a sizeable portion. Gravy a little thin. For two of us with two pints of Amstel it was £32.50... Quite expensive. Didn't... More
