Situated in a unique Grade II listed Georgian building in the heart of Bath, Gascoyne Place has enjoyed many awards and plaudits since opening in 1996. Five distinct spaces (from a traditional pub-like corner snug to elegant Georgian dining rooms) could be your setting in which to indulge in a modern British menu that only uses fresh ingredients, obtained through close links with local farms and fisheries. Located 20 metres from Bath's Theatre Royal, and overlooking Sawclose Piazza, Gascoyne Place suits pre or post theatre wining and dining marvellously, though not to be outdone, the restaurant hosts its own entertainment with live complimentary jazz sessions from 8.00 Every Sunday and live blues every Friday evening.

Jazz and Cocktails

Visited for drinks and Jazz. They have a very reasonably priced cocktail menu and the cocktails are superb. Enjoyed a sharing platter. Excellent service and the Jazz band were absolutely brilliant. Great atmosphere.

We had dinner here on a Tuesday evening at 8pm. We appeared to be the only people in the whole place who were eating although there may have been 4 or 5 others having a drink. No atmosphere at all, which is a shame as on the two previous visits the place was packed. Service was very good, but then... More

Stopped off here for a light lunch during a day out in Bath. We had two small salads and both were absolutely delicious - variations on the expected Ceasar and Nicose but better for it. Both very much enjoyed. Good service too made for a very pleasant lunch stop.

Came here after a day of sight seeing. Wanted something relaxed, of decent quality and a menu with variety. It did not disappoint! The beer battered cod and triple cooked chips were incredible! Also saw a steak, salad and burger which looked good too! The hosting was attentive but not overpowering. The ambience was relaxed and was just what we... More

Met a colleague here for lunch as he was visiting Bath. I have eaten here a few times and always found the food good, and was not disappointed this time either. We only wanted a light lunch, but the split pea fritters on couscous were excellent, as was the fish my colleague - both very well presented, and service with... More

My wife and I stopped at Gascoyne Place for dinner; we had not made any dinner reservations but liked the look of the restaurant when we called in. We had the pre-theatre menu and it was very good and very reasonably priced. Service was good but not over the top

Great food and the live jazz was good but too loud when you're trying to enjoy a nice meal. Couldn't really have much of a conversation over dinner.

My daughters and I happened upon this little place by chance, and we were so glad we found it! From the moment we entered the staff were friendly, smiley and helpful. We ordered cocktails, and when the waiter asked how they were I said one of them was a little strong;he then made suggestions as to amending it or changing it,... More

Four of us visited on Saturday night before going to the Theatre Royal. We chose from the set menu. Food was very good, well priced and the staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. A great experience

Scrumptious, excellent value set menu, apparently overlooked as it wasn't busy, but the food is superb.
