Description: Situated in a unique Grade II listed Georgian building in the heart of Bath, Gascoyne Place has enjoyed many awards and plaudits since opening in 1996. Five distinct spaces (from a traditional pub-like corner snug to elegant Georgian dining rooms) could be your setting in which to indulge in a modern British menu that only uses fresh ingredients, obtained through close links with local farms and fisheries. Located 20 metres from Bath's Theatre Royal, and overlooking Sawclose Piazza, Gascoyne Place suits pre or post theatre wining and dining marvellously, though not to be outdone, the restaurant hosts its own entertainment with live complimentary jazz sessions from 8.00 Every Sunday and live blues every Friday evening.

Great evening with wonderful service. We had a table for 13 and everyone had a fantastic evening. Food was excellent and the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Make sure you book next time you visit Bath.

In Bath for the weekend, stumbled upon this little gem. Service was excellent really friendly staff, restaurant was lovely and clean. Food was gorgeous, set menu great value for money. My other half had black pudding terrine to start, it was really tasty and looked divine. My soup was very tasty and for the first time ever in a restaurant... More

On an evening in between Christmas & New Year we enjoyed a cozy romantic epevning in the snug area of the restaurant in front of a glorious log fire. Good value set menu if you order before 7pm. I have eaten at this restaurant several times and their fish and triple cooked chips are divine. Service is always friendly and... More

What a way to end the New Year! As it was my first time in Bath and I was going solo, I decided to ditch the "local's recommendations" and explore the area for myself. I got lucky. With all the places in the city centre booked for private functions, my choices were limited. However, this would prove to be a... More

We are here on New Years Eve and it really was fabulous!! The service was amazing!! And it takes me a lot to say that. I have a bowel condition, and have had a lot of problems recently with waiters/waitresses seemingly not caring about my issues, and seeing me as fussy!! Not our waiter at Gascoyne place- he was excellent!!... More

Me and my fiance always look on trip advisor for places to eat and drink when we plan a weekend away. We always find amazing places. We have just had a meal at Gascoyne Place, and the food was outstanding!! All the members of staff we encountered were very polite and welcoming. The starter came out quickly. My partner &... More

Considering we had booked a table on one of the busiest nights of the year the last Friday before Christmas we were shown to a quiet and cosy area of the restaurant upstairs. The whole evening was lovely..starting with a yummy glass of Prosecco and finishing with an Elderflower dessert wine! The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. I had... More

First floor private room with lovely round table to accommodate 12 guests. Great selection of pre-selected menu choices - Smoked Salmon with pickled cucumber and horseradish - beautifully presented, Loin of Venison was lovely and a stunning individual Vanilla Rice Pudding with hazelnut crumble topping. Very friendly and helpful service and impressive first visit. Will certainly be back.

I was impressed by this place. The food was really well prepared and the service was good. For a quick lunch it's worth a visit. The only criticism was a very friendly waiter trying to up sell everything ! If I want a large wine, a starter, a pudding or a coffee I will ask for one!

I came here for lunch in December while visiting the Christmas markets. I'd recommend getting here early or booking beforehand as we went at 12 when it opened and 20 mins later people were being turned away as there was no more room. The staff were immediately welcoming, happy and helpful. They offered a smaller version of the main menu... More
