We had a pre theatre meal here which was delicious. We added a couple of extra dishes to the deal to make a total of 6 main and 2 sides. This was just the right amount for two. The restaurant itself is small but the seating was well placed so we didn't feel on top of the other customers. The... More

Recommended by friends and inspired with confidence by Tripadvisor reviews, we booked dinner for our recent trip to Bath. We were so, so disappointed with the food, I really could have cooked it better myself. We chose butternut squash & caraway parcels, the butternut squash was crunchy e.g. barely cooked and although there were caraway seeds in it, you couldn't... More

A Gallic take on tapas dishes - the outside of this restaurant is unremarkable, but we put our heads in and were welcomed by the owner and some people already eating said how good it was. So We booked and came back later and really enjoyed our evening: the idea is you choose two plates each plus some sides and... More

I took my mum there for her birthday with my sister the other day, We had a wonderful time. The wine and the tapas style dishes were so tasty. The waiter was hilarious and very polite. We even got a free drink at the end. I will definitely be going back very soon!

If you have always wanted to try French cuisine but with so much choice not sure what or where to start I'd suggest Bistro La Barrique. With a tapas styled menu you can try as much or as little as you like. Friendly helpful staff will guide you through the food and drinks. The food was excellent quality and presented... More

The exterior of the restaurant is really not very inviting but once you are inside you are enveloped in a well decorated bistro atmosphere. I really can't remember when all staff were so pleasant - we had been asked a few days ago if we would mind moving our booking just by half an hour. It really wasn't an issue... More

i cannot recommend this place highly enough, it should have at least one Michelin star. The food was the best I have ever tasted and we have eaten in some great restaurants around the world. The lunchtime menu is great value, giving you a choice of 2 little dishes and 1 side each, so we ordered all different dishes and... More

We went here on a friend's recommendation and were not disappointed! The food was mouth-watering, especially the salmon risotto and cheesboard. Unusual to see a French small plates menu but I really liked being able to try a selection of dishes. I imagine it can be a little pricey if you order a la carte but we chose the pre-theatre... We were reccomended to this French restaurant by the Concierge who managed to get us a table. A warm welcome awaited us with an interesting (but not too long) menu comprising a series of tappas style dishes with a French slant which were excellent. A very good wine list, with many available by the glass, enabled us to try both... More
