We were visiting Bath for the day and wanted a lunch somewhere that was not a chain! This little restaurant was a real find. Lovely French inspired food. A delicious glass of wine. Great service. All considerably cheaper than chain restaurants.

We like tapas and the opportunity to try something similar with French food was an opportunity not to be missed. Do not be put off by the exterior of the restaurant as inside is very comfortable and French! We tried a mix of 5 "main" courses and could of maybe had a couple more, but we then made up for... More

An absolutely fantastic way to enjoy the best of French Cuisine. We ordered six small plates between two of us and all six were outstanding. Authentic food from a talented chef. A fantastic evening in a relaxed and friendly little restaurant at a reasonable price. The wine list is extensive and Michael knows every bottle. Don't miss it!

We were recommended to go here by SACO Appartments where we were staying. The owner, Michel, used to run the highly rated Bistro No 5. It could be described asPetits Plats/ French Tapas (although the portions are fine)-you can choose as much as you like,. Good, well chosen wine list with many available by the glass. Bath has all the... More

Came to Bath for a weekend visit and chose this restaurant on the recommendation of the Hardens website. The ratings on that site undersold the simple delicious trench food available here. We had 4/5 dishes and all of them were superb. Not a moral was left on any plate. In a word this place is a delight.

Went to Bath with my Mum last weekend and came across this lovely little bistro. We went for the lunchtime set menu which was an absolute bargain and delicious too. Lovely ambience inside, authenic food and Michel the owner was lovely. Would definately recommend it and will return on my next visit to that lovely city.

I took my family (including three 12 year olds) as we were visiting Bath for a couple of days. It is a little jewel. It shows that you don't need to go to a "fine dining" restaurant to get great French cooking. The kids wolfed everything down. Particularly popular was the Duck confit gratinee, a seafood pancake and the creme... More

When we were down in Bath for the day, we referred to the Holy Bible of recommendation...that is Trip Advisor...Bistrot La Barrique was in Top 10 in comparison to now. Anyway....we entered the Restaurant, the place is small...but cosy...and though we were probably the first customers we were made very welcome by the Waitress/Owners daughter?! To be true i don't... We went for dinner for a double birthday in the family and enjoyed a pleasant night out. The little plates are a good idea - a sort of French tapas. My advice is do not do as we did which was to order enough dishes for everyone and share them around. Two main reasons - the resulting portions are not... More

A friend and I came here for lunch one day and enjoyed the lunch special which was 2 courses and a side for 9.95. The portions were small but I still thought it was worth the price as you get two of them and they were delicious! We also enjoyed the nice staff and quiet atmosphere.
