Utterly delicious, and good value.

We ate here early evening before a show and were so glad we found it on Tripadvisor. The food was wonderful. Exquisite French food served as 'petit plats' rather like tapas. They recommended 2-3 plats per person and we chose 3 each from the early evening set menu. My husband is a particularly... read more

They offer French tapas, a really excellent idea! I had a carmelized onion tart, salmon and leeks en croute, and garlic bread sprinkled with cheese, all very good. Chose the cheese selection for after, much of it local, and served with a terrific onion chutney. Very nice selection of wines by the glass. It's a cozy, relatively small dining room.... More

Meal here with my mum over Christmas time, never really tried French Tapas before. Was however really really pleased we chose here. Very small little place. Got very busy while we were there so says it all! We had some dipping oils and breads, 4-5 dishes and green beans. Belly pork was a little bland that would be my only... More

We enjoyed the petits plats and the excellent wines on offer. Service was very friendly and the whole atmosphere was very cosy. I would not rate the food as Michelin star but it was excellent home cooking with delicious flavours.

This was the fourth time I have been to Bistro La Barrique and I was, as always, blow away by the quality of the food. As a large party the menu options were excellent with both the grilled scallops and duck cassoullet being outstanding. I have also been tried the petit plats menu which is equally brilliant and showcases a... More

Can do no better than quote the e-mail I wrote the next day."I just wanted to say how very much I and all my guests appreciated not only the excellent food yesterday, but the lovely service from the staff. We all felt very well looked after, and in the event to have our meal downstairs was absolutely the right thing... More

Met up with some friends for lunch on the recommendation of a family member. We were made welcome by the friendly staff. As you would expect from an award winning restaurant, the food was delicious with great service and a warm atmosphere.

The depth and quality of the flavours were superb. We enjoyed 6 dishes - the ox cheek, potato gratin, and caramelised onion tart really stood out - and paired it with a carafe of the Malbec (which we'd gone for the whole bottle!) A great night out, good food, and look forward to going back again.

Found this fantastic France restaurant in Bath. Nestled away not far form the Bath Theatre Royal....such a gem of a find. A very warm welcome and found there is plenty of seating areas, extra seating downstairs and great seating outside for warmer weather. Service was faultless, attentive but not in your face, the wait between courses were timed perfectly. Food... More

A small, cosy and welcoming family-run, independent restaurant. Prices are very fair and the food is top knotch. I believe Dad is integral to the downstairs kitchen creativity & when we were there, his daughter single-handedly managed the restaurant............and she's quite brilliant at it. No one is left waiting and she's genuinely warm engaging. We had just been for a... More
