Always fantastic

One of the best places in Bath for a proper roast and definitely all time favourite. Dinner is always spot on and there is a wide variety of wine to chose from. One of my favourite places to eat in Bath without a doubt!

Visited with my girlfriend for a Sunday roast on our first visit to Bath. Was excellent. Friendly, efficient staff and the food was 10/10 (which seems rare for Sunday lunch at a lot of places). Highly recommended!

The Chequers was a great find for a roast dinner to round off our weekend. It's a pleasant atmosphere and the staff are friendly. The only minor draw back was the roast potatoes had clearly been cooked in advance and tasted a little dry. Apart from that the food was really nice and reasonably priced. We'd go back and recommend... More

Just had a fantastic Mother's Day Sunday lunch at The Chequers. We sat upstairs, which is a little less cosy than the main restaurant. However, the service and food were exemplary. The advantage of sitting upstairs is that you can look into the kitchen through a large window, which our two children found fascinating - they even watched the chef... More

Wish I lived closer to this restaurant, I'd be a regular! The staff were welcoming and friendly, and although the place was full behaved as if we were their only customers. I had "beetroot compression" which was beautifully presented and the most delicious combination of flavours, followed by a Wiltshire pork dish which was the best I've ever eaten. I... More

My boyfriend and I ate here on a Saturday and couldn't recommend it enough. Despite pushing our reservation back an hour to 9pm, the place was still bustling with other groups still arriving for their meals. There was a great mix of locals and tourists, suggesting we had made a good choice! The service was outstanding, and not once was... More

We were a hen party of 9, on a Saturday night, and the experience was brilliant. Beautiful food, great, attentive service and a lovely ambience.

When my son asked where I wanted to go for a birthday lunch I had no hesitation in saying the Chequers, because I had enjoyed it so much the last time we had been there. We were a party of 5 booked for a late Sunday lunch on a wet and miserable February day. Our orders were taken promptly and... More

I would like to start by saying this was not my first visit to The Chequers. In fact I have visited Chequers 6 or 7 times in the last six months, but always on a Sunday either with my family or in a larger group. I work as a Fine Art Auctioneer and recommend The Chequers to clients who are... More

Service was very good, a nice mix of good knowledge of the menu and being left alone.I had read in the past that the service was poor, but I disagree! The food was amazing, perfect in fact, and that is high praise indeed but it's true! I look forward to dinning here again.
