We like the Chequers alot. It has a great Gastro Pub atmosphere and very good food. If anything the portion sizes are on the large size, which for some might be a good thing, but can be a bit daunting otherwise. Great combination of quality and price.

I came here for Sunday lunch with my family, the service was polite and attentive without being overbearing, and the food was excellent. I had Sunday roast with pork belly - the meat was tender and tasty without being too salty, the seasonal veggies (including potatoes, parsnips, and creamed leeks) were lovely, and if I had had enough room left,... Friendly welcome at this bistro pub. Not too busy but reasonable amount of trade for a Monday evening. Good choice of traditional British food. Would definitely recommend to my friends.

Visited the Chequers during a visit to Bath after some online research and have to say it lived up to, if not surpassed, its reputation. My scallop and pork belly starter melted in the mouth and my friend's lamb scotch egg was worth travelling back to Bath for alone. The ox cheeks melted in the mouth and all accompanying veg... More

We booked in here on a Monday night for my birthday - I was worried we might be the only ones in as Mondays are often quiet but there were a few other tables and the restaurant felt nice and cosy. It would be great to see it a bit more lively but that was our fault for choosing a... More

On a recommendation from a friends friend who has a home in Bath we decided to try this Gastropub. We received very attentive service and enjoyed a delicious menu on the night that we visited the Chequers in Bath. It was mothers day and it was a lovely ambience. We would strongly advise a trip to the Chequers. We each... More

My husband and I visited here this evening and were very pleased to see that they still had the Sunday Roast available (until 8pm). I am glad that we opted to decline a starter as the mains were huge. He had the beef which was beautifully rare and I had the pork belly which was succulent with wonderful crackling. Each... More

Superb evening meal, and very attentive but not intrusive service. Food was fantastic, quite "chef-y" in presentation, but good sized portions and perfectly cooked. The trio of Wiltshire pork was honestly one of the best pork dishes I've ever had. Had a nice chat with one of the staff afterwards about the meal. Can't recommend this place highly enough. Also...
