Wonderful food and service

We were a hen party of 9, on a Saturday night, and the experience was brilliant. Beautiful food, great, attentive service and a lovely ambience.

When my son asked where I wanted to go for a birthday lunch I had no hesitation in saying the Chequers, because I had enjoyed it so much the last time we had been there. We were a party of 5 booked for a late Sunday lunch on a wet and miserable February day. Our orders were taken promptly and... More

I would like to start by saying this was not my first visit to The Chequers. In fact I have visited Chequers 6 or 7 times in the last six months, but always on a Sunday either with my family or in a larger group. I work as a Fine Art Auctioneer and recommend The Chequers to clients who are... More

Service was very good, a nice mix of good knowledge of the menu and being left alone.I had read in the past that the service was poor, but I disagree! The food was amazing, perfect in fact, and that is high praise indeed but it's true! I look forward to dinning here again.

Went in on a cold wet night as our hotel was not that cosy. We loved it here, superb welcome and really delicious food. nice fire burning in the bar, just what we wanted.

I have eaten here many times and the food is always excellent, although the table service is great, the reception when you walk in leaves a lot to be desired - very slow, almost feel you are being ignored & absolutely no recognition that we are frequent diners at this restaurant. Lucky for them the food is so good and... More

The only one of the three Bath Pub Company venues that I had never eaten in. The Hare and Hounds and the Marlborough Tavern have been uniformly excellent for the last few years. I can now confirm that the Chequers suffers nothing in comparison. Wife and I had an evening meal on a Tuesday night at short notice and the... More

Had a lovely meal last Saturday evening. Nice atmosphere, great food, service could have been bit more attentive, its cold in there also as when ever the door opens a draught shoots in and it's unpleasant. But....I would definitely recommend it due to the food, decor, ambience,v pleasant waiting staff (just think they were busier than they could cope with the night we were there).

Having read about The Chequers legendary Sunday lunch my friend and I had to give it a try while visiting Bath! We weren't disappointed. Set in a backstreet not far from the Royal Crescent there's a fairly upmarket crowd. It's busy - presumably because all of Bath knows how good the Sunday lunches are - so I'd advise booking in... We spent a very enjoyable evening here last night, we had a table upstairs which is next to a window with a great view of the kitchen, it was really interesting watching the chefs hard at work! The food was so beautifully presented and lots of flavours to tickle the taste buds! The waitress was very friendly and efficient which... More
