Super super Sunday lunch

This has to be one of the best Sunday roasts in bath ! Not the cheapest but such a treat . You can even watch the chefs cooking your food . Very very impressed and can highly recommend the chicken . Wish I had room for the great looking desserts , maybe next time

While visiting Bath for my partner's 30th birthday, I decided I wanted to take him out for a special, romantic meal so booked The Chequers having read reviews and looking at their menu. Upon arrival we were sat upstairs and the waitress was warm & friendly which instantly put us at ease. Whilst the menu was limited, there was enough... More

A lovely modern pub situated a little off the beaten track, but worth a visit if you're in the area. We arrived early (around 7:30pm) after booking a table for 8pm. The bar area was quiet with multiple reserved tables, we were told we'd have to wait at the bar as they were busy and had lots of bookings so... More

Pub Grub. A nasty phrase which conjures up sausages and mash or greasy chips. The Chequers steps beyond all of this and smashes good cooking into the 21st century. It's places like this that make the French look like amateur boil in the baggers from 1973. The menu is thoughtful and designed to cover all eventualities. Anything resembling the pub... More

Visited a while ago, but still sticks in my mind, very friendly and helpful staff, delicious food, - I had three courses but the roast lamb was the best I've ever eaten! Hope to be back soon.

We had a fantastic evening here. We loved the food and the wine. You can tell the chef really loves what he or she does. Great atmosphere and friendly staff too. Seemed to be full of locals. We were due to eat somewhere else but when we walked past during the day it was so inviting we just had to... More

Was in Bath over the weekend as a group of 8. Pre booked The Chequers based on a) staying nearby and b) previous reviews. Definitely deserves the credit it receives as a gastro pub. Brilliant and unfussy service. Really great food and nicely presented. Nice short menu (as it should be). Would return there tomorrow.

My husband and myself were visiting Bath with some friends and upon asking around for a good English restaurant we were advised to visit The Chequers. We took a walk to find the restaurant and enquire as to whether they had a table for that evening which fortunately they did. The staff were absolutely fantastic throughout our entire evening, offering... More
