Met up with family for Sunday lunch in Bath - we were not disappointed. Delicious food, possibly one of the best Sunday lunches we have had for a long time. The staff were lovely and the ambience relaxed - perfect.

Food was delicious but the service was very poor. When we arrived nobody showed us to our table and it took 25 minutes for our order to be taken. Every course took a very long time to come out which meant that we both felt quite fed up by the end of the meal which took away from how great... More

We went on a Saturday night so the restaurant was full and rather noisy. Very pleasant staff, but brought wrong wine, and forgot our starters. To be fair they corrected both immediately. And brought new main courses, not re-heated old ones. Our starters (mine was scallops) was one of the best I have ever eaten. Mains were pretty average though... More

The food is FAB; tasty and nicely presented. We had dinner here for 6 of us and we were all impressed with the food. We were sited upstairs and it was pretty busy. There was only one waiter serving the whole floor and he looked rather panicked. Service was slow, but he did well considering he was by himself most... More

Dinner on a Friday night had us trying beetroot salad for starters, duck tart for main and hazelnut pud. Great food, bursting with flavour, beautifully presented. We were on a weekend stay from London, I'd put this The Chequers up there with some of the decent London restaurants.

Our second visit for sunday lunch. We had the lamb scotch egg and the calamari followed by the cote de bouef to share. Everything was absolutely delicious. Service was good. We sat downstairs which I think is preferable to upstairs. We requested downstairs when we booked through opentable. There wasn't a note on the system but they accomodated out request... More

Was completely blown away by the food! I would strongly recommend the duck tart and the lemon thingy for desert. Beautifully presented too. Can't wait for our next visit!

This was our 2nd visit to chequers but first time we have eaten lunch. The food is very very good. Excellent service, we arrived earlier than our booked table and sat outside with coffee waiting for our booked time. As soon as a table became available we were offered it! Very efficient and the Roast beef dinner was delightful. Menu... More

I had been here 2 years ago and was almost worried that it would not live up to the fantastic standard that I experienced back then, with one of the best and most memorable meals I have had (and I have eaten out a lot!). I shouldn't have been concerned - it did not in any way disappoint. The service... More
