Big group well looked after

There were thirteen of us dining and so we pre-ordered, we were given time for a drink first and whilst the service was very quick we were not rushed. The food was excellent, so good that most people had dessert too as we couldn't resist. Leanne, looked after us brilliantly! Great night!

We spent a very enjoyable weekend in Bath sightseeing and dining. The Chequers is a very friendly and welcoming restaurant with very friendly staff. The food was delicious and we managed to find a lovely bottle of wine from their Fine Wine selection. A great evening, thank you.

After visiting this restaurant I almost felt bad for the owners; the website and the menu, even the location... it al doesn't look that mind blowing. But, once you have set down and ordered.. WOW. The menu is written as ingredient listing, not a description of the dish. I thought I would let the chef surprise me and go with... More

Enjoyed the traditional roast at this Gastropub. The portion size was more than adequate and variety of veg provided. The desserts were especially impressive! Would definitely visit again. The waiter had a good sense of humour too.

We visited for Sunday lunch as a couple; we arrived promptly at noon to find fires being lit and were warmly welcomed and settled with a drink quickly. The menu was classic Sunday lunch and was really well done. We shared a starter of chilli squid which was beautifully presented and made for a good opening for a full roast... More

Visited with friends for Sunday lunch. Busy, friendly, welcoming with fabulous roast beef, chicken and tasty fish and chips. Butcombe and Bath ale, full of life, well worth the effort.

This is a gem of a bistro pub which punches way above its theoretical weight. Lovely welome, good and warm atmosphere, cheerful and knowlegable staff. Food was outstanding and the service very efficient in a very pleasant and happy way.
