Description: Situated around the corner from The Royal Crescent, The Marlborough Tavern...
Situated around the corner from The Royal Crescent, The Marlborough Tavern combines the atmosphere of a local pub with the quality of a top restaurant. Two AA rosettes, a horde of local & national awards plus inclusions in The Michelin Guide and Good Food Guide bear testimony to their consistent delivery of high quality cooking. They have a clear approach to food find the best and freshest ingredients and to create great tasting, essentially simple dishes where the quality of the produce speaks for itself. Married to that is a passion for inventiveness that sees the menu constantly changing. Food is essentially though not slavishly English in character and takes advantage of locally sourced produce wherever possible. The lunchtime menu features a range of lighter dishes and sharing plates plus some traditional pub classics - and the Sunday roasts are legendary. Their food reputation is matched by their service always friendly and attentive without being intrusive. They have an extensive wine list and selection of local ales, and they can mix a mean cocktail too. Outside they boast what is arguably Baths finest pub garden; a walled courtyard space, its perfect for summertime lunching and drinking.

Hi ZennaEngland, What a shame you had such a poor visit with us. After saying how brilliant the service was as well. Our burger comes with a rich tomato relish, a little bit of baby gem lettuce & coleslaw. The burger itself (without giving away our secret recipe) has a load of ingredients to give it a real flavour burst.... More

We rocked up in the late afternoon on a sunny May day. Had drinks in the nice beer garden in the sun, followed by an early dinner inside. A very enjoyable few hours was spent here. Good food and good service in a nice location away from the busy side of Bath.

We got here because we were staying at The Royal Crescent and needed a quick dinner. It was rated ok so we reserved a table (which wouldn't have been necessary on a Monday night as it was not too crowded). The waitress was very kind and "kid-friendly", we had delicious food and a great wine from Australia and were completely... More

Very good quality food served in a very relaxed dining area , reasonable prices and swift service, couldn't ask for more. Sadly we were pressed for time to get to the theatre and did not have time for dessert , maybe next time.

After reading a short review in the Lonely Planet guide book for England, me and my wife thought it would be nice to have dinner at the Marlborough Tavern, especially as the chef used to work in a Michelin Star restaurant. We have ordered pork in many restaurants in the past and it has always been served completely cooked through... More

Hi nicholasculver, Its always a disappointment and worry to us when a guest has a negative experience and we always look to make amends and learn from it as a team. We will now word our menu to say that the tenderloin of pork is served pink. On the evening your pork dish was served how we intended it to... More

delicious food, good portions, very friendly and accommodating staff. When they found out it was my birthday they treated me to a glass of prosecco and a dessert. It is a little off the beaten track so easily missed, but it is worth knowing about.
