Description: Situated around the corner from The Royal Crescent, The Marlborough Tavern...
Situated around the corner from The Royal Crescent, The Marlborough Tavern combines the atmosphere of a local pub with the quality of a top restaurant. Two AA rosettes, a horde of local & national awards plus inclusions in The Michelin Guide and Good Food Guide bear testimony to their consistent delivery of high quality cooking. They have a clear approach to food find the best and freshest ingredients and to create great tasting, essentially simple dishes where the quality of the produce speaks for itself. Married to that is a passion for inventiveness that sees the menu constantly changing. Food is essentially though not slavishly English in character and takes advantage of locally sourced produce wherever possible. The lunchtime menu features a range of lighter dishes and sharing plates plus some traditional pub classics - and the Sunday roasts are legendary. Their food reputation is matched by their service always friendly and attentive without being intrusive. They have an extensive wine list and selection of local ales, and they can mix a mean cocktail too. Outside they boast what is arguably Baths finest pub garden; a walled courtyard space, its perfect for summertime lunching and drinking.

Brilliant pub and restaurant

Two of my friends and I went to the Matlborough Tavern's steak night on Tuesday and the food, ambience and service was superb. I also held my 40th birthday at MT a couple of years ago. The staff had 20 rambunctious and merry guests to deal with and they were just brilliant. Highly recommended.

It's fair to say I am somewhat critical of roasts whether the meat is too dry, there isn't enough spuds or the gravy is cold etc. The Marlborough Tavern excelled tremendously on any expectations I did have and provided a fantastic afternoon of food and drink. I had the beef, cooked to perfection accompanied by a handful of deliciously golden... More

We visited the last weekend in August whilst on a very civilised hen do having booked in advance. Upon walking in I found the atmosphere quite lively as it should be in a 'pub' but it wasn't crowded. The place was very hot though and we had to remove layers. The menu choice was great with a good range of... More

Visiting from Bristol, we were recommended the Marlborough Tavern by The Chequers as they were not serving food during the day and suggested their sister pub, staff were very efficient on arrival and we were seated quickly. Menu is simple, not lots to choose from but all you need. The food we ordered was outstanding, perfectly seasoned, my partner ordered... More

The service was swift, courteous and without any 'fuss'. The ambience was buzzy without being so loud you could enjoy good conversation without the need to shout to be heard. We ordered starters, mains and a mixture of coffees and a side dish of seasonal veg. 'Delicious,Yummy and Wow' - a few of the comments overheard from our table! We... More
