Description: Situated around the corner from The Royal Crescent, The Marlborough Tavern...
Situated around the corner from The Royal Crescent, The Marlborough Tavern combines the atmosphere of a local pub with the quality of a top restaurant. Two AA rosettes, a horde of local & national awards plus inclusions in The Michelin Guide and Good Food Guide bear testimony to their consistent delivery of high quality cooking. They have a clear approach to food find the best and freshest ingredients and to create great tasting, essentially simple dishes where the quality of the produce speaks for itself. Married to that is a passion for inventiveness that sees the menu constantly changing. Food is essentially though not slavishly English in character and takes advantage of locally sourced produce wherever possible. The lunchtime menu features a range of lighter dishes and sharing plates plus some traditional pub classics - and the Sunday roasts are legendary. Their food reputation is matched by their service always friendly and attentive without being intrusive. They have an extensive wine list and selection of local ales, and they can mix a mean cocktail too. Outside they boast what is arguably Baths finest pub garden; a walled courtyard space, its perfect for summertime lunching and drinking.

Best burger, and best fish & chips in town. Other lovely meals as well! And, scrumptious puds! Excellent service, and lively atmosphere.

Initially informed that there was plenty of room for the evening so had a drink and went into the garden. On return (45 minutes) we asked for a table to be informed we're now full! Know one had thought to come and say or take a booking when buying drinks. We pointed out that two people who had been in... More

My family and I popped in for a late lunch here. We had the Chicken Liver Pate and assorted sea food starters; for the mains we had the fish and chips and steak. The food is excellent quality and the volume is very generous. The Medium done steak is a bit on the well done side, so maybe asking for... More

We were recommended the Marlborough Tavern by our guesthouse around the corner. We were pretty hungry so hoped they would be able to seat us. Luckily they could, just, as there was a large party also there. Food was awesome, just what we needed. Well presented, large portions. Would definitely recommend.

I visited on a Saturday night with my 14-year-old daughter after reading good reviews in the national press and checking the website. The service was excellent, from the man who took my booking on the phone to the superb waitress during our meal. Friendly, efficient and not at all stuffy. The food is delicious - cannot wait to return to... More
