Description: Situated around the corner from The Royal Crescent, The Marlborough Tavern combines the atmosphere of a local pub with the quality of a top restaurant. Two AA rosettes, a horde of local & national awards plus inclusions in The Michelin Guide and Good Food Guide bear testimony to their consistent delivery of high quality cooking. They have a clear approach to food find the best and freshest ingredients and to create great tasting, essentially simple dishes where the quality of the produce speaks for itself. Married to that is a passion for inventiveness that sees the menu constantly changing. Food is essentially though not slavishly English in character and takes advantage of locally sourced produce wherever possible. The lunchtime menu features a range of lighter dishes and sharing plates plus some traditional pub classics - and the Sunday roasts are legendary. Their food reputation is matched by their service always friendly and attentive without being intrusive. They have an extensive wine list and selection of local ales, and they can mix a mean cocktail too. Outside they boast what is arguably Baths finest pub garden; a walled courtyard space, its perfect for summertime lunching and drinking.

Situated near the Royal Crescent this is a great pub with fine cooking. All locally sourced with a real passion for what they are serving. The two course set lunch is a real bargain at £12 and there is a short and well chosen wine list. Very good vegetable and flower shop nearby which supplies them-a "farm shop" in a... More

The Marlborough Tavern is situated just outside the core of the city centre near the Royal Crescent but is worth the walk. A lively atmosphere and friendly, attentive service make you feel instantly welcome. As befits a restaurant that was a good pub not too many years ago, the choice of ales is decent and the wines by the glass... More

I'm usually fairly difficult to please when it comes to dining out, however, my experience at the Bath's Marlborough Tavern was pretty much flawless. The first thing I was struck by was the incredible standard of customer service, enthusiasm and willing shown by the members of staff. The staff were warm, friendly, attentive and made us feel highly valued. We... More

We went of a cold but sunny afternoon in march to have a sunday roast and were over the moon to have found this place. Not only was the food AMAZING but there was lots of it on the plate so good value for money. We both had the beef which was cooked to perfection and the roast potatoes were... More

I recently ate at the Marlborough Tavern with with my wife and a couple of friends all of us live in Bath. So we know the Tav well. The cooking is always of a consistently high standard and as good as you could get anywhere in and around Bath. The ingredients I know are locally sourced and it shows in... More

Lovely, lovely in every way. We lost our way and were 30 mins late but were graciously greeted and seated in this buzzy, classy pub. Very imaginative and totally delicious food - something for everyone, unpretentious and sensibly priced. Staff were charming, friendly and relaxed. Peaked into the walled garden and promised ourselves a return visit on a sunny day.

Having researched online for the best Sunday lunch the Marlborough Tavern came highly recommended and we were not let down. My chicken was perfectly cooked and the accompanying apricot stuffing was delicious. My friend had what he said was the best pork belly he had ever eaten, complete with a fabulous pork crackling "straw". The accompanying vegetables were all cooked... More

Our meal was outstanding - so happy to have a vegetarian choice which was not the usual cheese tart. I thought the main course was excellent and the puddings were to die for. The wine was perfect and the atmosphere relaxed which was a bonus as we had a five year old with us. She particularly enjoyed the fish and... More

we arrived at the tavern and were greeted by friendly staff. I am a difficult person to cater for being on a dairy and wheat free diet but nothing was too much trouble. The chef prepared a beautiful meal (top restaurant class) and we would have stayed for pudding if we could have fitted it in! we will return on... More
