Description: Situated around the corner from The Royal Crescent, The Marlborough Tavern...
Situated around the corner from The Royal Crescent, The Marlborough Tavern combines the atmosphere of a local pub with the quality of a top restaurant. Two AA rosettes, a horde of local & national awards plus inclusions in The Michelin Guide and Good Food Guide bear testimony to their consistent delivery of high quality cooking. They have a clear approach to food find the best and freshest ingredients and to create great tasting, essentially simple dishes where the quality of the produce speaks for itself. Married to that is a passion for inventiveness that sees the menu constantly changing. Food is essentially though not slavishly English in character and takes advantage of locally sourced produce wherever possible. The lunchtime menu features a range of lighter dishes and sharing plates plus some traditional pub classics - and the Sunday roasts are legendary. Their food reputation is matched by their service always friendly and attentive without being intrusive. They have an extensive wine list and selection of local ales, and they can mix a mean cocktail too. Outside they boast what is arguably Baths finest pub garden; a walled courtyard space, its perfect for summertime lunching and drinking.

We had just checked into our hotel, and were hungry for lunch. After checking tripadvisor and their website we headed out to The Marlorough Tavern. The room was beautiful. But, we had the same experience as a previous reviewer, the menu on the website was completely different than the one in the restaurant. One member of our party prefers salads,... More

More of a gastro pub I think, but still great service, some locals frequent so not all tourists, Really enjoyed the food and very friendly helpful staff.

Great gastropub--reasonably priced with excellent food located near the Crescent and a two block walk from our B & B.

Definitely one of the best vegetarian nut roasts with accompanying vegetables that I've had out in a restaurant, and definitely the best I have had in a pub. The cauliflower soup was also exceptional. Very friendly and efficient staff.

met up with some friends in Bath and went to Marlborough Tavern for lunch. Service was excellent and even catered for our two dogs (providing a bowl of fresh water). The waitress was helpful and attentive and provided constant fresh water. The menu was good and varied, catering for everyone's needs. The food itself was excellent, beautifully presented and piping... More

We travelled to Bath for a weekend and spent some time finding a restaurant (prior to travel) that had food on the menu that our slightly fussy daughter would eat. The Marlborough won hands down based on it's published menu and trip adviser rating and so we booked. Imagine how disappointed we were when we arrived and the menu was... More

Dear TT_Coley, Thanks for the feedback regarding our website. The menu will now be clearly labelled as an example menu. However, you were in the building for a very short space of time and did not allow us to to accommodate you and your party. At the Marlborough Tavern we really go above and beyond when it comes to allergies,... More

A wonderful place for sunday lunch, everything you would expect and more. Quiet and comfortable, suitable for families and groups of friends. Good quality food. Expect to find the main dishes traditional and full of flavour. The starters and desserts are a feast for the eyes, very imaginative. We recently sampled their goats cheese panacotta which was beautiful, and a... More

Great little modern pub near the Crescent. Stopped in to wait out the rain and have a glass of wine. Place was quiet and comfortable. Great wine list. Didn't have a chance to eat but the menu looked very good.

As part of the Bath food festival we had a three course (plus amuse bouche) game based meal at the Marlborough accompanied by a beer flight. The service, food and drinks could not have been better and for £40 the price was amazing too. I could go on for ages about the food and choice of beers, how they were... More

We went to the Marlborough Tavern for a Sunday roast and an opportunity to catch up with friends. We had the pork belly and chicken and both dishes were delicious! It was exceptionally well seasoned and all the flavours were incredible-puts my roast dinners to shame! The Yorkshire puddings were ginormous! We were all pretty stuffed but decided to have... More
