Description: Situated around the corner from The Royal Crescent, The Marlborough Tavern combines the atmosphere of a local pub with the quality of a top restaurant. Two AA rosettes, a horde of local & national awards plus inclusions in The Michelin Guide and Good Food Guide bear testimony to their consistent delivery of high quality cooking. They have a clear approach to food find the best and freshest ingredients and to create great tasting, essentially simple dishes where the quality of the produce speaks for itself. Married to that is a passion for inventiveness that sees the menu constantly changing. Food is essentially though not slavishly English in character and takes advantage of locally sourced produce wherever possible. The lunchtime menu features a range of lighter dishes and sharing plates plus some traditional pub classics - and the Sunday roasts are legendary. Their food reputation is matched by their service always friendly and attentive without being intrusive. They have an extensive wine list and selection of local ales, and they can mix a mean cocktail too. Outside they boast what is arguably Baths finest pub garden; a walled courtyard space, its perfect for summertime lunching and drinking.

Wow food! Not your typical pub---great food, very unusual, and not what you would expect in England. The atmosphere is great, does have outside seating, and the beer is wonderful. Try the sampler.

Had a great meal here with my parents one Sunday lunch. Delicious fish & chips and a cool refreshing glass of Sauvignon Blanc. On a sunny day in Bath what could be better! Nice, friendly staff and a good mix of clientele families, couples all very laid back!

We read a few of the reviews for this pub and thought we would give it a go. The menu online is not the same as when we arrived but that's not wholly unusual. We rang ahead to ensure a table and where offered 18:30 or 20:45, we plumbed for the earlier. When we arrived we introduced ourselves at the... More

Booked on the recommendation of friends, for a romantic dinner for two...and it didn't disappoint! Lovely ambience, cosy but not overtly so, great food & wine. The only criticism would be a narrow food choice on the menu, but what was served was fabulous none the less!!

Visited the Marlborough Tavern on Sept. 4th with my daughter - last day before the new school year started. Quiet, with a handful of other guests, yet cosy and inviting, the Marlborough Tavern was perfect for the occasion. Took a set lunch, which was delicious - quite different from ordinary pub style. Service was excellent - very friendly and considerate.... More

We visited for The Tav's 'steak night' - the place is always good value but this was even better than usual. Really easy to enjoy the good food in a relaxed atmosphere

Went based on reviews.....honestly menu was nt pub style but also wasn't fine dining (though it was priced as such). Just wasn't a good spot for a family meal. (Loved Jamie's italian)

Visited the Marlborough Tavern on the 26th August whilst on a visit to Bath. As soon as we walked in we knew we were going to have a lovely evening. Having booked the table previously we were given the choice of having a drink at the bar or to go to our table. Of course we had a much needed... More
