Description: Situated around the corner from The Royal Crescent, The Marlborough Tavern combines the atmosphere of a local pub with the quality of a top restaurant. Two AA rosettes, a horde of local & national awards plus inclusions in The Michelin Guide and Good Food Guide bear testimony to their consistent delivery of high quality cooking. They have a clear approach to food find the best and freshest ingredients and to create great tasting, essentially simple dishes where the quality of the produce speaks for itself. Married to that is a passion for inventiveness that sees the menu constantly changing. Food is essentially though not slavishly English in character and takes advantage of locally sourced produce wherever possible. The lunchtime menu features a range of lighter dishes and sharing plates plus some traditional pub classics - and the Sunday roasts are legendary. Their food reputation is matched by their service always friendly and attentive without being intrusive. They have an extensive wine list and selection of local ales, and they can mix a mean cocktail too. Outside they boast what is arguably Baths finest pub garden; a walled courtyard space, its perfect for summertime lunching and drinking.

The Marlborough Tavern: Selfishly, my advice is Don't Go - so it's not booked when I want to. The only negative was that not all of us realised there were two sides to the menu. Delicious plaice and samphire. And yummy strawberry desert - three ways. Generous sized espresso to finish. My sister from LA asked for some weird coffee... More

I've been to this high end pub a few times and always well served and good food. Prices are reasonable for the offer. Haven't been lucky with the Guinness draft...twice now. However well attended by the manager and proposed an alternative solution, both times, with no extra charge.

We went to the Marlborough Tavern for a sunday roast based on a friend's recommendation, and were certainly not disappointed. This cosy pub opens into a lovely beer garden in the back. The staff is very attentive, but service relaxed. We ordered the beef roast, and the veggie nut roast. The beef was beautifully cooked and came with lovely veggies... More

Booked a table for my husbands birthday for a Friday evening. Arrived early for drinks and caught the last of the late afternoon sun in the lovely courtyard garden. Fancied eating a little earlier than our 7.30 pm booking and the staff were perfectly happy to sit us down at 6.45. Both ordered starters and main courses. The goats cheese... More

We booked a table for a party of 12 on a busy Sunday afternoon and could not have been happier with the quality of both the food and the service. The staff were all professional and helpful in the extreme, even down to the dividing up a very large and awkward birthday cake that we had brought with us as... More

Good roast dinner although not enough potatoes (3 each for adults). Plenty of veg. Kids had fish and chips - v disappointed with the number of chips (about 8?!!) Potato famine in Bath?! Fish delicious, roast meat perfect. Service good. Lovely environment.

Visited for Sunday lunch. Restaurant feels a little cramped and no airflow so gets quite hot and uncomfortable. Food is very average and over priced. Not happy seeing a optional service charge of 10% on top of already exspensive food with paid staff ? Also got a desert wrong and brought a drink we did not order. Staff seem quite... More

We were looking for a pub which offered good food and welcomed kids and dogs....we found it and only 2 minutes from the Royal Crescent? We cannot fault the service, appearance and decor of the pub and overall friendliness. Menu is small, but I found no fault with its quality! There is a lovely garden area to the side! We'll... More
