Description: Situated around the corner from The Royal Crescent, The Marlborough Tavern...
Situated around the corner from The Royal Crescent, The Marlborough Tavern combines the atmosphere of a local pub with the quality of a top restaurant. Two AA rosettes, a horde of local & national awards plus inclusions in The Michelin Guide and Good Food Guide bear testimony to their consistent delivery of high quality cooking. They have a clear approach to food find the best and freshest ingredients and to create great tasting, essentially simple dishes where the quality of the produce speaks for itself. Married to that is a passion for inventiveness that sees the menu constantly changing. Food is essentially though not slavishly English in character and takes advantage of locally sourced produce wherever possible. The lunchtime menu features a range of lighter dishes and sharing plates plus some traditional pub classics - and the Sunday roasts are legendary. Their food reputation is matched by their service always friendly and attentive without being intrusive. They have an extensive wine list and selection of local ales, and they can mix a mean cocktail too. Outside they boast what is arguably Baths finest pub garden; a walled courtyard space, its perfect for summertime lunching and drinking.

A great find tucked in behind The Royal Crescent. Food was excellent. I had the squid followed by cod - a fish fest ! I would recommend booking to avoid disappointment 😀

Off the usual tourist trail, but with a great location near The Crescent. Simple menu offering a limited choice of superbly cooked food with high quality ingredients. Service was informal, but very attentive - our server got the balance just right. It's not cheap - starter, mains, coffee, pint of beer and a large glass of wine cost £76 for... More

What a lovely atmosphere this pub has, so glad we found it after a busy day we popped here having read the great reviews and the Marlborough certainly lived up to expectations. It is a high end gastro so don't be surprised if the portions are a little bit smaller or the prices slightly higher than a traditional pub but... More

Last minute booking with my wife for Sunday evening. I am not a fan of Sunday lunch dinners but this was fantastic; beef cooked perfectly, veg. selection perfect for a winter evening and a large Yorkshire pudding. Add to that a great rich plumby malbec and smiley helpful service, and you go home completely satisfied.

Went for family Sunday lunch and had excellent lunch of belly pork with roast potatoes and veg with red wine gravy. Family had sirloin beef and chicken. Puddings of brownie and apple baverois. Mains were £13 or so and desserts £7. With 1 drink each came to £25 per head which felt quite a lot. Overall excellent food though and... More

Four of us ate here on Thursday January 6th. I had tried to phone and get a booking but only got an answer phone. However we decided to go there for a drink and when we arrived the helpful waitress said she'd reserve a table for us. We were all very happy with our main courses. Three had steak and... More

Offers a small menu, but excellent quality with real attention to detail. Portions are moderate, but perfectly sufficient and very flavoursome. Wine list is comprehensive and by glass prices are fair.
