Seems much better than the last few reviews would suggest?

This dropped off our radar some years ago although many friends are regulars locally. We've dined at lunchtime 2 or 3 times and have enjoyed it on each occasion. Nice cozy atmosphere and very popular. Bar service and staff were prompt and friendly. However, I'm not sure what's happening in their kitchen! I ordered a rare rib-eye steak. It came out medium so I sent it back only to be brought another with an apology by the Manager but this time it was RAW!!! Guess the "chef" was being... More

Lovely little pub when you go inside, looks very sophisticated. Ordered two drinks and sat down at the table. Prices looked pretty average for Bath so we ordered two burgers. Oh dear, they were awful, tasted like they had been cooked in oil that had been there for weeks, brioche bun dry, burger dry and flavourless. Chips tasted awful, had... More

We had been regulars to the Globe for many years but hadn't been for about 12 months, it used to be run brilliantly by a manager called Nicola. We hadn't booked but didn't have to wait for a table, which was good as we had our three year old granddaughter with us. We ordered at the bar, one tear and... More

Having been regular visitors to the Globe we booked a table last night to have a meal with a couple of friends. In the past we've always enjoyed an evening meal there. This time we were really disappointed in the service and the food. We had a couple of simple starters that took at least 1/2 hour to be served... More

We visited on Wednesday 13th and perhaps that's when they have low stock but just about everything we ordered wasn't available. We ended up with second or third choices which is dissatisfying. Several of us had the prawn and avocado with a very meagre slice of avocado. The food was poor and we won't be going back. The only good... More

We came to the Globe essentially because the establishments in the centre of Bath which were open on Christmas Day, had all been booked up well in advance. The Globe's Xmas menu was traditional, so when we placed the order, we weren't expecting too much from it. The place itself was decked out suitably for the season, and all the... More

After reading previous reviews, my husband and I booked Sunday lunch last week. We could only get 3 pm as it was extremely busy, but that was fine. We were shown to our table quite quickly, and drinks were brought quickly. We ordered roast beef (lamb all gone unfortunately) - after 35 minutes I asked a waitress when we could... More

This was our first visit to The Globe after taking our daughter back to University. We called in on the off chance at 4pm and were incredibly lucky to get the last table for four. We were told up front that food would take at least half an hour as they were extremely busy which was fine with us. We... More
