One of good restaurants in town

Small restaurant requires pre-booking to avoid disappointment. Quality and quantity of selected dishes were good. Somewhat slow service. Fine drinking area both in and outdoors, noisy!

We have eaten in Cromwell's a few times in the last 18 months, but we finally invited friends to join us. We were not disappointed and nor were our friends. The food was excellent the service is just the right mix of friendly and professional. Wine list is good and several beers on tap too. Not too expensive either. Definitely... More

We were in Shrewsbury for the afternoon and fancied a bite to eat before going home to Nantwich. Never been to Cromwells before, but walking past, we saw from a poster that it was pie night! They do a special offer on Wednesdays, which is a pie and a drink for £10. I chose a beef pie with a pint... More

Cromwells has to be one of my favorite eateries in Shrewsbury. The staff are helpful and pleasant (rarer than it should be) the mix of locals/regulars, tourists, yummy mummies, ladies that lunch etc all add to the vibrancy of this gem of a venue. The food is fresh, well prepared and beautifully presented. The wine list, choice of ales, spirits... More

Visited last night for our wedding anniversary. Received a warm friendly greeting from the staff. We ordered a Cromwell burger and a fillet steak with peppercorn sauce. The food was cooked to perfection. Very fresh and well presented didn't need anything else to eat as very filling. All in all well worth a visit

Cromwells is in a great location on Dogpole. There are only a few tables which ensures great service and an intimate setting. My family all ordered different starters and mains but everything arrived as it should, perfectly cooked and at the right time. I look forward to visiting again.
