a very good meal out

We had a warm welcome and we were able to make a change to our vegetarian dish to take into account allergies so they are made to order and not bunged in the microwave which can happen at some places. We had a great chat with a member of staff on the merits of English and Welsh whisky.

Joined a group of friends for annual lunch. My meal of salmon was very small compared to some of the others so when it was pointed out, they cooked another one which was raw in the middle. The salmon steak was taken away and cooked a bit more so it was then edible. Profuse apologies were offered but no other... More

Upon arriving, the welcome from what I can only assume was the restaurant manager, was warm as was the sunshine on the terrace, the real ales were explained well and appreciated, however a wonderful two course lunch was cut short just prior to becoming what I'm sure would have been an epic three courses due to the arrival of a... We have been searching for the perfect steak, well we found it at Cromwells Bar & Restaurant. there were 6 of us in total and not a single crumb was left on any of our plates, This was the best steak we have ever had, it was so tender and full of flavour, it was accompanied by home made chips,... Had a wonderful lunch today, service was excellent, atmosphere lovely and food was gorgeous. I had the open fish finger sandwich and as always it was perfect! A perfect place to enjoy a couple of hours with good food.

We had lunch here the day after Valentine's day and were very impressed by the standard of our Sunday roasts + desserts. The staff were very welcoming + efficient on what was very busy weekend.

My husband and I booked Cromwells for their steak night (Fridays) and weren't disappointed. We ordered the sirloin platter that came with chips and onion rings. Absolutely delicious. If you doubt the quality of the meat as it is a platter, one word. Don't. Quality excellent. We had a great night and great food. Shrewsbury is a lovely town with... More

This was our fourth visit in a couple of months, once again it did not disappoint. Our daughter is 11 and nothing is too much trouble if she fancies something other than is on the menu, we all went for the Sunday Lunch and pound for pound the service and the quality of the food is exceptional all helped by... A group of 14 of us celebrated a birthday here on a Saturday night, and the staff were excellent! However, the meal was just okay! We had to prebook which is understandable, but never very exciting. One of our group had very recently had some gall bladder problems so had telephoned the restaurant to advise that they did not want... More
