Excellent!

Had a family get-together here on Saturday, the staff were incredible and truly couldn't do enough for everyone! Outside area is gorgeous, drinks reasonably priced and the food is outstanding! Excellent portions and gorgeous tasting! Will definitely return.

Rainy Sunday perfect lunch! We were lucky to get a table for four without booking. Yorkshire Robert (?) was our server, engaging, very helpful with the menu and efficient. Both the lamb and beef roasts were tender and perfectly cooked, alongside the roast potatoes, home made gravy, fresh firm veg. and Yorkshire pudding. Others in our group had burgers their... More

I've been here many times for many reasons and have never been disappointed. Great for a romantic meal for two, lovely beer garden in the summer, group bookings in your own private room, drinks with friends at the weekend and a fantastic central location

The last time I lunched at The Cromwell has got to have been a good 10 years ago. Then it was a very, very busy establishment, they used to have the menu written on a board on the wall and would cross of items when they had sold out so you knew that everything was cooked freshly. Obviously since then... More

Nice place but strangely not much choice of wine offered or served. Ordered one bottle but was given a different wine to our order - it was cheaper so not an attempt to boost profits. It was a bit disappointing, however, it was very busy so we didn't make a fuss and they probably would have changed it if we'd... More

This place is located in an excellent location to the town ,not that you need to go far to have a good night anyway as you have got all you need here. But if you want to go out there are many nice bars and restaurants nearby. The food is excellent and the room we had was spacious and clean,... More

There seems to be a bewildering number of good places to eat and visit in Shrewsbury. We were 6 friends spending two nights in this great town, and Cromwells was across the road from our lodging. We ate on the "top deck" outside on a balmy evening, views of the many rooftops and spires, relaxing place. We shared a few... More

We had a beautiful fish platter in their very pretty beer garden. We've been here before many years ago but the changes are great. The staff are happy and jolly and the food is spot on. When the sun comes out there's no better place but it can get very busy. It will be our regular spot from now on.... More

We had the fish platter between the two of us and I have to say it was amazing ,smoked salmon, goujons ,halibut and cod with chips ,olives, salad and different types of bread. We couldn't eat it all and I was starving after not eating all day .great friendly pub.

After wandering around most of Shrewsbury looking at menus we finally decided on Cromwells . A table was quickly found outside on the busy terrace drinks and then food arrived promptly . The food and service was excellent. In and out , fed and watered in under an hour - would highly recommend
