Lovely warm atmosphere + good food

We had lunch here the day after Valentine's day and were very impressed by the standard of our Sunday roasts + desserts. The staff were very welcoming + efficient on what was very busy weekend.

My husband and I booked Cromwells for their steak night (Fridays) and weren't disappointed. We ordered the sirloin platter that came with chips and onion rings. Absolutely delicious. If you doubt the quality of the meat as it is a platter, one word. Don't. Quality excellent. We had a great night and great food. Shrewsbury is a lovely town with... More

Have eaten here several times for both lunch and dinner. The food is excellent, cannot fault it. All the staff are really helpful and accomodating. This place is just brilliant and has a really nice feel to it. Well worth a visit.

This was our fourth visit in a couple of months, once again it did not disappoint. Our daughter is 11 and nothing is too much trouble if she fancies something other than is on the menu, we all went for the Sunday Lunch and pound for pound the service and the quality of the food is exceptional all helped by... A group of 14 of us celebrated a birthday here on a Saturday night, and the staff were excellent! However, the meal was just okay! We had to prebook which is understandable, but never very exciting. One of our group had very recently had some gall bladder problems so had telephoned the restaurant to advise that they did not want... More

Called in on Sunday to try this place as it has been quite some time since we were last there. The Sunday menu isn't very extensive, but what we had was absolutely delicious. I had the roast beef, pink and tender and my wife had the lamb which she said was beautiful. Both dishes were served with some very tasty... More

We used to visit Cromwells quite regularly but haven't for a few years, in part I suppose because of having a young daughter and tending to go to places where we know that they have a kids menu. However with a friend and her daughter coming to visit we were keen to go somewhere different. I phoned to enquire about... More

I have driven or walked past Cromwells well in excess of a thousand times; I knew it was there, but the occasion had never arisen that I was looking to eat or drink at that time. Indeed, as a town centre pub, one probably has to make the pre-planned effort to arrange to eat there - which is exactly what... More

This place is worth a visit as it has a nice bar and on a sunny day the sun terrace at the back is one of the best beer gardens in the town. Having said that we recently visited for a meal as we hadn't eaten here for a while. I ordered the burger which wasn't so good. It was... More
